After I wasnt so freaked out, I thought the same thing about the babies. Although it was probably hella scary, it was over before they knew it and they seemed to be over it fairly quickly.

Fri, May 2, 2008 - 1:08 PMit's a long-held indian tradition. i'm positive they wouldn't do it if there were any doubt as to the safety. it's alarming to us, but i wonder if the mothers are as freaked out? and no, they only do it once per baby.
