Ever since the red tide has returned I have been having extremely emotional, intense pms. I never really had it before but now I get frustrated easily, overwhelmed, cry on a whim and am just plain ole' angry for no good reason. Help! I have some sage tincture that helps some but it is not enough. Combined with Anaya feeling frustrated over not being able to communicate as well as she would like it has been hard the past couple of days.

Re: Intense PMS
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 7:36 PMIt is common to have anovulatory cycles in which the follicles develop and produce estrogen, but not enough to tranform the developing follicle into Progsterone (ovulation), and BANG! PMS happens! It is great for reducing the symptoms of being keyed-up, such as anxiety, irritability, insomnia, etc.
I found progesterone creme VERY helpful for PMS the week before AF returns. -

Re: Intense PMS
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 2:49 PMsorry to hijack this thread with mirena concerns, BUT i read that ovarian cysts can be a side effect, with 1 in 10 women getting them! how did i miss that before i signed onto this method of birth control? my cervix still feels sensitive, and my partner says he can still feel the string, even after she trimmed it again. originally, she left it long on purpose so it would wrap around my cervix. wonderwoman, do you have other concerns about the mirena?
of course, some of the way you feel that is different than pre baby days is just the fact that you're a mama now, i'm sure!

Re: Intense PMS
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 10:32 PMI'm feelin' for ya Mama! Keep in mind too, that today is the new moon. I notice when we are going towards a new moon, I have to really try to stay grounded and patient- or else, LOOK OUT!
Traditional Medicinals (brand of teas) has a blend called PMS tea. I've been drinking it the past few months (starting about 10 days before my moon cycle).... It helps me, a lot!!! With water retention, emotional crazies, cramps, give it a try!
