i'm looking for a Queen sized non-toxic (i know some materials are better than others) waterproof mattress pad..... any recomendations?
our little one sleeps next to me and a few times a week he pees out of his diaper and leaks all over our bed and me : )
since he is just a little baby now it's not such a big deal but i can imagine as he grows the pool of pee will too...
please help me i don't want a water bed....even if my 8lbs baby is doing his best to make it one...

Re: waterproof mattress pad?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 11:12 AMThis is what I am thinking about getting.
You can order any size you want. Just slip it under your sheet where your baby sleeps and voila'...waterproof yourselves.

Re: waterproof mattress pad?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 6:33 PMWe had bought a brand new and very expensive new mattress just before my son was born. I was so worried my water would break in bed and ruin the mattress. I bought a plastic cover (that is actually sold for older people with bladder issues) and it fits just like a sheet. It does not make any plastic scrunchy noises either. I don't remember the site I got it, but I found it by googling around. It is still there 10 months later.. just in case he pees or anything.

Re: waterproof mattress pad?
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 10:38 PMThat's just what I have been shopping around for..... buts that really 'xpesive! Yikes!!
We have an OG latex bed that is really kush 'n soft. We need a mattress cover that's waterproof and thin, not so much soft and kushy. All I can find is weird padded, toxic stuff. Arg!

I just got one for the crib, but I did a quick google and found links like the one above. The one I bought also is organic wool - they ARE a bit pricier but seem nice - also cushy. -
