Happy Mother's Day to you all. You are all doing a wonderful job of raising yur children and I am so pleased to know you all (even if it is online). I have learnt so much through the collective knowledge of the mothers onthis tribe and I'm blessed to be sharing this journey with you.

My husbnad did really well this year and bought me three cards (!!!) as well as a deluxe manicure and pedicure. I'm looking forward to enjoying the pampering soon. We're off this morning to have a picnic with my in-laws today despite the fact that it's a wintery day outside.

did you know that the original purpose of mother's day was as an anti-war movement? sort of a "you can't have my sons" attitude.

happy mother's day to all of you, my closest, farthest friends. i hope you all enjoy this day & reflect on what an amazing gift your children are.

as for me, i got the greatest mother's day gift i could ask for: sol pooped in the big potty! i was so proud.

Happy Motehr's Day to all!!! May you have a day of rest, peace and love!

That's not true I-dee. I heard the story on NPR today, and other places before today. This woman who lived in West Virginia did a lot of work to up the standards of cleanliness in hospitals and lower the mortality rate of newborn babies. So her daughter started mother's day to commemorate her and honor her. It took six years but finally the president in 1914 signed to make it official. It was meant to bea day of rest for mothers and for their children to write them letters. She got so upset when she found out about all the greeting cards and candy and flowers that she attempted to renig the day but it didn't work.

I guess I shouldn't say that's not true, what I mean to say is "What I've heard is..." Sorry, doing my best to not be confrontational.

My Mother's Day gift was sleeping in till 7:30! And getting to volunteer at the Obama rally on Friday. He is such an inspirational speaker!
