The post oil, post dollar, hopefully post war, post global, post climate change future, is well named "Post Progress", as most the problems which we face today were caused by what is called "progress". The question arises, when our civilization is crumbling around the edges, can we carry forward and apply the best part of our hard won technology. Can we live amply and comfortably within a group of small communities? Does sustainability mean just keeping our bodies alive or does it mean we will live reasonably within a new civilization, one worthy of that name.

There are a number of tribes that deal with bits and pieces of this question, alt energy or natural foods, but none that deal with a sustainable future as an integrated whole. What good is it to have a solar heated home if you starve to death in it? Why an electric car if there are no tires? Plenty of organic food but you are dying because of a lack of medical supplies and help? Post cataclysm survival is integral but most treat it in bits and pieces. I hope that this tribe can bridge that gap.
