The NAU raises its ugly head

n this tribe I didn't really want to get into politics but if we speak of the future that is being prepared for us, it is unavoidable. Some of us see a future where it may be necessary to leave the US, yours truly included. However that may be difficult to do because the hazy power figures that control that country seem to be expanding in an unexpected way. In what appear to be a series of secret agreements, the present countries of Canada, Mexico and the US are starting to merge, becoming the North American Union. Those three countries will continue to exist in name but less and less in practice. This seems to be being done in such a slow and "under the radar" way that nobody is going to notice until it's all over but the shouting. But it is hard to speak of the future without including this factor.

Basically there are advantages to doing this but these become nightmares under "big brother". With only a facade of democracy, the environment, the planet and we who live under such a system, can only suffer. Although I live in Costa Rica, that may not be as much protection as I'd like. The little Central American countries could be easily gobbled up as an after thought. The Costa Rican Army doesn't exist, having become a mere footnote in history. In effect, the take over of Central America could take as much as three days, but only if the invading forces obey the highway speed limit signs!

Has anyone here thought about this, or even heard of it?

Yes I have heard about it and you are right that it is very much under the radar. Seems the it gets very little main stream news time. Judged to be a nop for news. I don't know what to make of it really. I think that it is more of a give away to big business more than a big brother scenario. However I totally agree that it does limit the places to go (i.e. hide) as one of the consequences is that the police functions will all cooperate and the laws are being weakened to grant no rights to the individuals.

I am not afraid of this as much as the ability of the US to name anyone an enemy combatant and torture them for information. I believe that the future of this country is now firmly in the hands of corporations and they have no plan for the people in the country outside of moving every cent that they have or can borrow from the people accounts to the corporations accounts (which are probably in the Bahamas).

I don't think it's about money. Money doesn't exist any more except as they create it and make it function. It's just control & power. It's also very, very frightening. The next question is, will the next generation even notice?

Of course the next generation won't notice just like the frog in the pot on the stove won't notice.

It is control and power to some. But the control and power is not the real answer because then you would have just a few people that could be targeted and eliminated. The control and power are given to the politicians actually bought and paid for to enable them to help move money. Yes there is no real money it is all just borrowed money. But that is the thing. The Fed creates the money by making the government and people borrow it then when it is spent the next one down the chain gets “real” money. Kind of like turning lead into gold but this time with bits and for real. If it were only about control then the people would be able to take control back. There are too many greedy people and corporations enabling the few controllers and that is the real power base that is impossible to break. Because they are not in some grand conspiracy other than making themselves rich.

Which leads us to the real question. What of our future?

Socially and politically, I do not see a rosy future for mankind in general. The only way to change the system, and this would be horribly destructive, would be some sort of very massive revolution. But the "sheeple" don't appear to be much into stampeding. They'd rather have their comfort and perceived security.

Will the collapse of the petroleum age bring changes? Yes, big ones, but not in the power elite.

What will happen to people who think, reason and believe in freedom and democracy, such as ourselves? In the end will these people be searched out to the farthest corners of the globe, to be brought in to toe the line? I doubt it, as long as they are not dangerous to the power structure. They could be useful, even if only as an example of supposed freedoms.

Or can we draw our light sabers and singlehandedly bring down the evil empire? Makes good movie fare but what good are light sabers against an gigantic fog bank?

How many sheeple are there in this list? Raise your front hoofs.

            Bah Baaaah.

We are creating our own answer to the Fermi Paradox. Consuming everything on the planet that we need to sustain our life. Until we kill ourselves off. Never to hear that message for the other race out there that just did the same thing millions of years ago.

There needs to be a revolution to enact a change. It is inevitable. Look throughout history no change for the better has just happened by itself. There was a driving force and it has often been labeled a revolution.

              Psychosematic Escape...

I wanna create change but I don't know where to begin
