Okay. Enough is enough. You would think that the management at Carino's would take care of our group. We bring in from 300 to 500 bucks on a slow Monday evening once a month on a regular schedule. And can they keep our reservation???

Apparently not.

I want you all to know that I will be sending an email to the General Manager's boss--that's right. I'm going over his head.

Carino's in on notice.

There have been an ongoing set problems with them, not least of which is that people can't rely on getting their food or bills in a timely fashion. People should be able to drop in for an hour or so, and not have to commit to 3+ hours because of the location that we're using.

I definitely appreciate you taking point on this. In the meantime, I think we should certainly look for alternative indoor venues that will (in order of importance):

    1. Not charge a room fee.
    2. Not enforce a party minimum bill.
    3. Provide "one chair, one check" service.
    4. Handle orders on a first-come, first-serve basis rather than treating the whole order as a single party and holding up people's food.
    5. Ideally offer a segregated dining area for the group.
    6. Honor a standing reservation.

If anyone has any suggestions, this is the time to say something. :)

So...yesterday morning about 9:30, I got a phone call from the scheduling manager, Cindy, at Carino's.

She apologized big time for the reservation being lost. She assured me that we *will* be taken care of in a timely fashion with two servers as she makes the schedule and will schedule the staff appropriately.

She will communicate very clearly to the servers how we want our checks handled.

I was extremely clear that our attendance as dropped because of the 45 minute wait for a check and the inconsisency of the service. Because we are stepping up our marketing efforts to grow our group, I needed the confidence for the following points or we would be taking our business elsewhere:

      1. Reservations will not be lost in the future as they are made one month in advance.
      2. Orders will be rung in at the beginning separately, instead of at the end of the meal.
      3. We will have two servers to handle the group (one to run drinks and bread, the other to take food orders).

As a former employee of Carino's, I know Cindy and my confidence in her ability to accommodate our group in much, much higher than the former managers I've dealt with in the past.

At this time, although Carino's is on notice, we will be hosting the October 27th PowerMunch at Carino's.
