Nocturnal Sunshine performance troupe is looking for new members to expand our troupe this year! Want to get paid to perform as a fire dancer?

In search of performers with:
- Proficiency in 1, preferably 2, spin tools (poi, staff, double staff, hoop, juggling, etc.)
- Experience dancing with at least one static tool (i.e. fire eating, fans, palm torches, arm torches, swords, etc.)
- A strong awareness of fire safety
- Some dance training and an ability to learn, create and retain choreography
- Some performance experience
- Bonus skills: character work, theater, aerial dance, fire breathing, face painting, costume design and stilt walking.

Come join in a collaborative dance troupe that creates an innovative style of fire performance that places an emphasis on character development and dance, in addition to spinning skills. We’re looking for individuals who love to perform, practice, collaborate and play. Our primary emphasis is on paid performance with occasional pro bono performances. All members of our group must be able to entertain both as a soloist and as part of larger dance and theater pieces.

Candidates for membership must be willing to commit to at least one full year of membership, attend weekly rehearsals in Santa Cruz, and fulfill some shared administrative group duties.
Serious performance inquiries only please. If interested, contact us for additional information and to set up an audition time: info@nocturnal-sunshine.com. Please include some information about yourself, photos or video if you have them and a brief description of your dance, fire and performance background.
