May 16, 2009 - "May Flowers"
9:30pm - 4:30am
So, was that long enough to make you *really* want it? Hope so, because Plump is back to its full rotundness as we roll out another fat production for all you friendly freaks. Here's what we got: Get floral on us! I'm sure you'll have some impressive outfits for this one...and bring a flower for a spontaneous art installation! On the music side: A first time Plump appearance from the funky groovy live show, DMT Labs, who work video behind their bad ass original beats. Plump favorite Shylock will come back to grace the decks and bust some of his forthcoming releases on your asses. And we'll have a debut visit from a secret weapon in the burner community, DJ Scottyboy. Of course, you know you can count on Chaplin MXR and FatFinger to bring down the house for you with a slurry of the freshest, baddest beats. Plus, we decided to respond to the hard economic times with the Project Alma stimulus plan: the discount door price lasts all night, and the beer is free! Meanwhile in the gallery, Andie and Dale are putting together a delicious show of new paintings by Joey Garcia and jewelry by Deb Vogt. Don't miss this one people, Plump wants you!

Art Show:
Paintings by Joey Garcia (www.j-garcia.com)
Joey Garcia's large-scale paintings are a response to common fears and beliefs surrounding death. Influenced by surrealism and street art, Garcia works with acrylic, oil, enamel and stencils that culminate into thought-provoking, fantastical and comical imagery.

Jewelry of Deb Vogt (www.delevo.com)
Deb Vogt of Delevo Designs bonds crystals and stones to sterling silver, colored resins and geometrically cut wood. Her creations come in the form of limited edition pendants, bracelets and earrings -- jewelry that is simply elegant and rich in detail.

Art Show curated by Andie Villafañe & Dale Youngman
