Basically, the above URL links to an article that relates the efficiency that IBM will get with their state of the art chip fabrication facility in E. Fishkill, NY. IBM can get more efficient with their production and lower the cost of the Cell Broadband Engine. Right now, the 90nm Cell BE chips that Sony uses in the Playstation 3 cost about $90 per piece.
Possibly lower cost on the Playstation 3 as a result of the more efficient production at the Cell BE fabrication site may mean that demand will increase for the Playstation 3 which will drive the market for more games. However, the 65 nm Cell BE will require a good bit of time for Sony to integrate into the Playstation 3, I guess. I'm no expert, and I don't expect that the price of the Playstation 3 will come down dramatically as Sony lost on the current version of the Playstation 3.
In my mind, this news means that IBM considers successful Sony's launch of the Playstation 3.
