Re: ghosts and spirits
Wed, January 30, 2008 - 8:21 PMI have seen many ghosts & spirits, but always with my 3rd eye vision; never with my physical eyes.
Many people have seen the old hag, including myself. I don't see it any more though. These old hags are attracted to the energy that people give off when they are cleansing out lower frequencies energies. Then they try to scare the person to get even more energy from them to 'feed' on. The only way to get rid of them is to stay calm & not be afraid. They need the fear energy to stay around. A sense of humour helps in dealing with them. Now I see them as pesky mosquitoes, & I would just tell them to go away & don't come back.

Re: ghosts and spirits
Wed, January 30, 2008 - 10:16 PMI have seen many ghosts and spirits as well. Usually I feel them and their emotional state but there is one place that stands out in my mind the most.
My parents, sister and I moved into a brand new custom home my parents had built on a site that was previously an orchard. I was fifteen at the time. It wasn't long before I became uncomfortable and felt that there were many spirits lurking around. Mostly what I saw/felt was dark shadows that I believe were using one area of the house as a passage way to and from the spirit world. I was constantly telling them to go away and I didn't want to be bothered. Most of the time I felt like I was going crazy.
A ghost that stands out to me from this house was a short old alcoholic man. There were a few thing he did to make his presence know while we lived there. Every night at the same time our back door would "thunk" as if he had just come home from work and I could feel his presence. One night my Mom's car horn decided to honk steadily by itself. When it was brought to the shop, the mechanic took it apart and said he couldn't see anything wrong with it. My sister, while sitting in the downstairs room, felt someone sit on the bed next to her. But the memory that stands out the most for me is one night when I was leaving the house. I had a really strong sense that someone was behind me and I kept thinking, don't look back, don't look back. So, I looked back and sure enough, there he was standing in the window of the entryway window with a smirk on his face.
I finally told my mom about him after I had moved away for college then she begin to tell me about her experiences. The one that scared her the most was one night when she was laying in bed, she felt like someone was next to her and then she heard very clearly in her ear, "blablalblabalblabl" The next evening, while my mom and dad were in the living room, they heard the back door "thunk" right on cue and my mom said "Go to heaven" and that was the last they heard him. The door stopped clunking. No more horn honking.
Many years later my parents were out of town and I decided to take my new girlfriend, now my wife, over to the house so we could sit in their jacuzzi bathtub and "watch movies". I didn't tell her about any of the stuff that I had experienced at that house, cause I didn't want to freak her out.
While I was drying off from the jacuzzi, I see my girlfriends face turn white and she looks terrified. Then she says, "We need to go".
Without hesitation I said, "OK".
Later she told me she saw demon like faces come out of the steam and they told her to get out. She also got the feeling that they were angry that she was with me.
I am not really sure what to make of the dark shadow spirits, because they don't seem to be linked to that house. I have asked them many times what they want and if there is anything I can do to help them but they usually dissolve when I do. I have been told that they feed off of fear and as long as I am in fear they will continue to be there. I just recently smudged my house with sage and it really seemed to lighten the air a little. But I am curious about what other peoples think about my experience.
Thanks for the new tribe Tim.
I'll be checking it out regularly and posting more stuff like this there.

Re: ghosts and spirits
Thu, January 31, 2008 - 7:14 PMI lived in a cabin built in 1661 and an early early trading post for Gunpowder on the gunpowder River in maryland, I also lived and rode my horse on a freedom trail , I have seen many ghosts, Yes with that history , they were there. As you said I have seen with a third eye but I have also heard words and seem images. I have had a conversation with a black woman named Gracie and have seen a spirit named Katherine Philpot offer me a tray of tea and coolies. I also have seen animal spirits from my past and twice when others spoke of their pets passing. I feel very receptive to ghosts, I lived in cack of a funeral home and have lived amongst a few Indian burial grounds. I have a few more tales but will save them as the topics roll on. thanks for an excellent site to express our feelings on super-natural expierences.

Re: ghosts and spirits
Fri, February 1, 2008 - 2:14 PMFor me the belief in ghosts did not happen till pretty recently. The unexplained seemed like that to me unexplained. Peoples experiences w/the world of entities, spirits and ghosts was just over active immagination. Never mind that my whole life I would find the local graveyard and the oldest house in any town I visited. My experience meeting a ghost happened about 5 years ago staying at a B&B in St. Augustine. It (the house) was on the ghost tour but I did not plan it that way it just happened that we stayed there. The Southern Winds. Was the reputed home of a jilted bride the story gets more dramatic everytime you hear it to the point were they are tying pork chops around the poor womans neck and she has dropped dead right at the altar at her wedding. Well when someone commented on how beautifully my ring catches the light and then a light bulb behind me blew out. That was just coincendence. When we entered the room and heard footsteps moving across the room in front of us I said it was just the noise in the house. And when the light in the room kept going off after I kept turning it on. Well I realized that some unexplainable thing was happening and after 3 events in the same spot I finally decided it was my first introduction to ghosts. The experiences are usually so much more subtle than hollywood can make them. It has to be so sensational to make it a business proposition but for me after that I knew that some of the energies that I felt around old places where impressions, memories and imprints from the past.

Re: ghosts and spirits
Fri, February 1, 2008 - 7:53 PMI've told my story on here before, so if anyone remembers it, feel free to skip over. :o)
When I was a teenager, I used to hear my deceased grandmother upstairs making the beds, brushing her hand across the covers to smooth out the wrinkles. Took me a long time to figure that one out. Spirits or teenage energy made things occur in that house. Pictures came off the wall to roll down steps and turn corners. lol My brother saw a ghost in our basement one night, and he was always a born skeptic. I live next door to that house now. Over the recent years I have seen a male spirit in my bedroom 3 times. It was a different person each time, though. Needless to say, I'm not real fond of a spirit watching me while I sleep. lol
When my EX lived here, there were lots of odd occurrences. The spirit used his cellphone to call his coworkers. lol The coworkers would phone back while my EX was sleeping, then when he answered the phone, they asked him why did he phone them. I had a good laugh over those calls. The spirit also annoyed him by changing the time on his alarm clock....... it only rotates one way, forward, and it would flip it backwards. On another occasion when my EX was being mean to me, he went upstairs into my bedroom, then walked out and turned the lightswitch off. It promptly turned itself back on, scaring the daylights out of him. I used to hear the sound of glass crashing to the floor, and my mom heard it also when she was here one evening. The spirit used to toy with my computer until I told it to leave THAT item alone. Another time I heard loud scratching at a closet door in the adjoining room. I thought my cat had gotten stuck in there. But no cat was in there. lol It was too loud to be a mouse and it sounded up a distance from the floor, the height of a dog standing on its hind legs and scratching. Weird.
The last time I "saw" anything was a spirit of a man in my bedroom a few months ago. He awakened me out of a sleep by imitating my boyfriend groaning in pain. I was so startled when I opened my eyes and saw this figure standing there.... I thought my heart was going to jump right out of my chest. I looked away, then looked back again, and he was still there. I had to tell him to leave because he was scaring me too much. What I didn't realize at the time, was that the spirit was sending me a warning. When my boyfriend flew to the USA to visit me in January, he suddenly became very ill and ended up in the hospital. But while he was at my house, oh my gosh, he made that exact same moaning sound which the spirit had imitated! Back during the apparition, I had tried asking the spirit to tell me in a dream what it wanted, but it never did. So now I don't know if that really was a spirit, or if it was energy manifesting in my room from some psychic premonition in my mind? Nothing new has occurred since then. Not that I want it to! lol -

Re: ghosts and spirits
Sat, February 2, 2008 - 1:17 PMthe beds were already made by my mother, Golda. Her own mom used to live with us and died in my room a few months after I was born. When I kept hearing that noise, I finally asked my mom if grandma used to make the beds (I had no recollection of course, since I had been an infant). She told me "yes". -

Re: ghosts and spirits
Wed, February 13, 2008 - 5:51 AMI was staying at my aunt and uncles house and had gone to bed after having a few drinks, as I awoke I clearly saw a man standing at the foot of the bed, I remember thinking to myself how did you get in here until I realised that I could see through him. He was about 65 years old, 5 ft 5 wearing a red checkered shirt with a cardigan I think on top, as I looked I realised that he was sobbing, I totally freaked out, got out of bed and went into the living room where my aunt was sitting with the television on. Some may say it was the alcohol, but I am 100% sure that I knowingly saw what I did that night, there's a part of me that is upset as I never thought to ask him why he was crying, if I see him in the future I'll tell him to cross over into the light ............ hopefully there'll be a happy ever after in time to come.

Re: ghosts and spirits
Mon, February 18, 2008 - 9:31 PMI have seen several spirits. My cat had past and one night I was lying in bed and above the door my cat just floated by. Never seen him again, I think he was just visiting again. Another time a very good friend had past and about a month later I had this dream that he was standing behind a counter dress in white and look like a robe or maybe something like karate outfit. He was younger and healthy looking and laughing. I was sitting at a round table with my ex(his best-man in our wedding) and our son. I suppose that was to let me know he made it to the other side. Another time a friend and I were in a cemetery at night ,there was some lightening in sky and lot of orbs. We are both standing there and I hear someone running and I look and see a man running fast in the alley behind cemetery and I say to friend he is real....at the same time we both go no he is not gone. Then we say again at the same time to kool. The man never look at us had dark clothes and I could feel civil war. So my take he was from that era and was running from something. I have many more, but I think you all get the geest of it. My house has many spirits woman cat and I,m not sure what but I'm always seeing like a bug or something. They don't bother me and they seem fine so I don't attempt to help to send them home.
Peace Always,
Zoe

Re: ghosts and spirits
Wed, April 2, 2008 - 11:28 AMI know that this topic is older but thought I would bring it up agian. I never answered the first time :-D
I have not actually "seen" a ghost of spirit. I have, however, seen what I would consider evidence of their existence in the way of an unmistakeable familiar (aftershave & cigarettes) smell that lasted several days. At the time I did not yet know that this person was deceased. It was someone I had not seen for several years. The smell, coupled with a series of events caused me to contact this person's mother, who, coincidentally had been feeling conflicted about taking a job in a foreign country...away from the place where her only child lay buried.
At the end of our visit I felt a lightness that I had never felt before....and she decided it was time to go for that job...to let go of some of the emotional things she had held on to. The smell never returned.
Also, in a period of extreme emotional stress for me, I heard my father's voice...it was just one sentence...an answer to a question that I had been screaming outloud. It silenced me immediately. My father died when I was 6 1/2 years old.
For a short time after my son in law was killed in an auto accident, things would happen around the house. A toy that made horse noises would suddenly start up...my daughter's bedroom light would flicker for no apparent reason (never did before and hasn't since)...wind chimes in the house would start to make noise.
Also, a page of my personal thoughts and poetry (a way to work through my grief) came up missing from the place I left it. After looking everywhere and getting kind of angry....I began yelling out to my deceased son in law that if he had anything to do with it he had better make sure that it got back where it belonged. I was the only person in the house at that time. I checked one more time before leaving for work....and it was right where it had been...where I looked the very first time. There was nothing else around it on the shelf, no way to miss the fact that it was there, so I hadn't merely overlooked it the first time.
Anyway....those are the types of experiences I have that let me know for sure that we do exist long after our bodies here are gone. -

Re: ghosts and spirits
Thu, April 3, 2008 - 11:41 AMGlad you revived it, I'd missed the topic previously and enjoyed reading all the answers.
I have often caught strange things out of the corner of my eyes, and now my daughter will be pointing and talking to someone/something and I will look up and catch a glimpse as well. Sometimes she sits up at night and has a really long babbling conversation with someone. could be herself, of course, she is becoming quite the chatterbox toddler.
The most intense things happened around the time my mother died. There were spirits in and out of my house constantly. It was full but I was the only one there. People would make comments about it feeling like someone would be walking by. It was so much, and so constant, for so long that i just got used to it.
The last two weeks my mother lived, we really connected. When she could still communicate verbally, I would play with the energy around her and she would tell me i"your weird!" I told her "I think we've pretty much extablished that." I knew I would be good at death, if that makes sense, but i just didn't know how - it was just this overwhelming resonant understanding. We didn't need to use words, we were on this whole other plane together. My family didn't really get it - but it was one of the most intense experiences ever for me. We were very close.
At one point when I laid with her on the bed, the air got misty and all of these people walked up and circled us. They were shadowy to me. It helped me actually see all the people that had been walking through my own house (I lived separately). She asked me to be with her and I said I'd go as far as I could. I experienced the most intense trance ever while comforting her...my stepdad had to shake me out of it. And so we stayed and hung on for longer because my family wasn't ready for her to go, but it was very hard and painful for her. Much of the time I felt like conduit - and conducted a ton of energy at that time, maybe that's why there were a lot of beings around me all the time.
After she finally passed - and the funeral was like some bad movie, tragic and awful - I didn't want them to just dump dirt on her, so I put the dirt on with a shovel. Luckily when I didn't have any more energy, other people stepped up and helped me. During all these months I was going through much chaos in my life. And after her death things spiraled even more out of control.
So God had to come help me. And my mom did too. One of the weirdest things - I ran to a place I had never been before. I was in trouble and I was scared and I didn't know what to do. I had encountered the place precognitively, but there was no reason for me to be there - maybe only because I had seen it in advance. I needed help badly, too. I looked on the ground and there was a piece of plastic. It was a watch insert - on the side in black was written: "The Armpit Man, PLEASE!!!" I put it back where I found it and when I ran home there was a message from my Dad. He was calling from target, where he was buying deodorant for his armpits. I mean, he was totally talking about his armpits on my machine at the same I was looking at the plastic.
That's just one time...and all those months spanned such incredible events, they are almost beyond belief! I had to be God smacked to get myself together, for real. The whole time was a scary, crazy mess and probably many people wouldn't believe in me if i told them all of it. But this time is also how I discovered that my God really was real and there and, even though i always thought of Him existing - he became concrete. The universe helped me survive and I made it through.
Not two months later, I was pregnant by my soul mate. We were good friends, and the day we finally got together, we decided to have our child. My pregnancy was very stressful, but God looked out for us. I went into labor suddenly, almost 4 months early, and we almost didn't make it :( and my daughter was born the day before my mother's birthday. Baby & I were in a bad way, but our lives were saved by God's hand and the help of wonderful people looking out for us :) When she first opened her tiny eyes and looked at me, I was struck with how much her new eyes looked like my mom's at one point on her way out. And I have gotten more strange help, and notes, and assistance from God. As I live my life better, he doesn't have to be so blunt with me. I do love all of the signs I get, they are tiny gifts I treasure in my heart. To know that the universe looks out for tiny me is the best feeling ever. I know we aren't alone!
So, yeah, now my daughter is 2 1/2 - a walking, talking miracle and just absolute pure chattery, happy LOVE! My husband and I are blessed with life - and we are actually growing together in our marriage (something I had prayed on and asked for help, and our hearts have changed together as we each grow) and there are still signs when I look around. And I love every minute of it, and am glad God smacks me when I need it, and always loves me too.
