Re: Spore Prints
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 11:55 AMYes, I checked with them. They'll ship them out only to those outside of California. I guess I'll just have to find someone locally. I'm in no rush. I'll just keep checking around..
Another route may be to do culture separation experiments on cow pies. According to my understanding, the P. cubensis spores are commonly found in cow pies. Separating them may be a pain but for those that have taken courses in microbiology and mycology, it'll be an interesting challenge.

Re: Spore Prints
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 11:36 AMNo problem. It just seems like a lot of trouble to go through. I think I'll just stick to the store bought variety of mushrooms.

Re: Spore Prints
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 2:39 PMcorrect... but are rare in cali... Texas... Louisiana, FL, Cuba... ect... Are were you find them.... P Cubensis is a tropic mushroom and needs higher humidity than most of Cali can offer (these Days)... So maybe try near the coast in So Cal... Would be easier to find Cyanescens or Liberty caps... in Cali... -

Re: Spore Prints
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 6:19 PMlook in the picture section of this tribe. you'll find a bunch of pix labeled "new species". these grow wild all over the bay area on decaying wood. they're so prolific it's amazing. -

Re: Spore Prints
Mon, May 26, 2008 - 6:44 PMThey're pics of them already posted? Wonderful! Thanks you very much. I heard about them through a lecture that Paul Stamets gave some time ago. However, I didn't know that people have posted pictures of them.
Greatly appreciated,

Re: Spore Prints
Wed, May 28, 2008 - 4:13 PMI checked out those pics... the first one looks like some Blown out Cyans... and the others are P. Bohemica... Which have been growing more and more in the Bay Area... But are not actually native to the US... -

Re: Spore Prints
Tue, June 3, 2008 - 2:02 AMI never heard of Psilocybe bohemica being found in the Bay Area before. Can you provide references for this discovery ?
I'd love to get a spore print ov that, it's suppose to be rather strong.
