The new Mystical Sun album "Energy Mind Consciousness" has just been released.

11 new tacks that explore different genre fusions. Imagine ambient, electronic, downtempo, shoegaze, dub and dubstep all mixed up.

EMC is on iTunes right now, and I've setup a shortcut URL for it: www.energymindconsciousness.com CDs to follow shortly.

Please pass the word around.

Is anybody else completely loving the new album "the witch's garden", by Abandoned toys? I think its the best ambient album I have come across in years. If you don't own a copy, you should really look into finding a copy. I think they have some clips of it on their site at:

Chillography101 {6.13.08 :: Seattle}

I've been dreaming of the ultimate chill party for many years and I am finally in a position to bring that dream (or a version of it) to life. Of course I can't do this all alone, so I've enlisted the help of Hendrik/Jaluka (the generous ringmaster of the Church of Bass) and recent Seattle transplant Adrian/Eckoe. Their excitement and passion for a similar dream gives me hope that this pipedream has actual validity beyond my skull. Together, we are shaping one tiny section of the universe into our version of chillout bliss. It's incredibly exciting to be working on a project that has lived in my head for so long and I can't wait to share it with you and the other chill-o-philes that I have yet to meet. This vision includes a comfortable environment, filled with pristine sound, soothing lights, amazing art and a soundtrack provided by the world's top ambient producers and DJs.

Welcome to Chillography101.

Full info can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/56kt39

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Join us on Friday, June 13 for the birth of a new type of event. Celebrate chillout the way it was meant to be enjoyed - comfortably lounging in a bubble of pristine audio, with a small group of fellow chill aficionados. We're taking the chill room and putting it in it's proper place - front and center.

To keep this event comfortable and intimate, only 100 tickets will be made available. Tickets are presale only and will not be available at the door. No ticket, no entry. Music runs 9:20pm to 6:30am, so arrive early and be prepared to sink in for the whole night and melt away to the finest chillout the Northwest has to offer. The doors will close at 1am and it will be exit only after that, so please plan on an early arrival. This guided voyage through time and (inner)space waits for no one.

For your comfort and nourishment, light snacks, chai, juice and fruit will be provided.

NOTE: This is an alcohol free event, but no-one under 18 years old will be admitted.

Buy your tickets here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/35112

The evening's Chillographers include LIVE performances by:

Phutureprimitive
The Phutureprimitive sound is subterranean electronic tribalism, combining elements of organic downtempo, ethnic breaks, and sensual atmospherics. Ethereal vocals soar over dubbed-out basslines, and live percussion unfolds over odd time signatures creating a groove that is influenced by the synthetic textures of psychedelic trance as well as the kinetic grooves of world music. Following his debut album, "Sub Conscious", released on Waveform Records in 2004, Phutureprimitive has since become a top artist in the Downtempo/Psy-chill/Phuture-dub/Ethnic Breaks music scene, performing at festivals and parties in cities and countries throughout the United States and Europe including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, England, Scotland, Portugal, Holland, Italy and Croatia.

Gel-Sol ("IZ" CD release party)
Seattle's Gel-Sol is producer/musician Andrew Reichel, whose dichotomous sound spans from ambient soundscapes to complex, rhythmic electronica, creating a dynamic psychedelic universe with heavy emphasis on improvisation. In 2004, Gel-Sol released the critically-acclaimed Gel-Sol 1104 (aka Music Made For You...And By You, I Mean Me.) on the UK's cult ambient label Em:t Records. His follow-up album, Unifactor, continued the tradition of his unique, amorphous sound collages. A joint release between Psychonavigation and Canadian label Upstairs Recordings, his new album entitled "IZ," in his own words "Is an all-ambient adventure I wrote for my niece Izabella, who was born early last year." The album's music showcases Gel-sol's trademark melodic edge combined with sweeping synth pads reminiscent of '90s ambient albums from the likes of Pete Namlook and Global Communication.
www.myspace.com/gelsol

EQlateral
Before joining together, each of them had made a name for themselves performing and recording as solo artists and with other groups. While Sebastian made young girls (and boys) weep with his mix of heartbreakingly beautiful and totally head-banger violin work in bands in Europe and the U.S., John was ripping up stages up and down the west coast with his totally cosmic cello playing – let's just say he was doing experimental soundings and the whole looping thing long before Zoe Keating or Loop Station. In the meantime, Peter was entertaining crowds at art festivals both state-side and around the world with his stellar bass playing and penchant for weird noise, outrageous costumes and whimsical theatrics. Susan was all over the place: getting international airplay as the singer for a gothic-electronic band and as a featured vocalist on two world music albums--and perfecting her innovative vocal stylings through collaborations with classical, electronic and experimental artists around the world. EQlateral is a fascinating juxtaposition of world-class classical musicianship, electronica and avante garde artistry. Expect soaring soundscapes, irresistable grooves, eerie ambience, comedic mash-ups and much more. The ensemble regularly collaborates with other musical, performance and multimedia artists and are looking forward to sharing their unique sound with audiences in Europe in 2008.
www.myspace.com/eqlateral

Leave Trace
With moody, psychedelic, and textural tendencies, Leave Trace (aka Crispy) dives deep into freeform ambient headspaces with no regard for your safety or "the man."
www.myspace.com/leavetrace

Plus DJ support from:

Eckoe (Ultimae Records)
www.machine-elf.com/music/sounds.htm

Jaluka (Transcendent Church of Bass)

Kevin Hoole

This event is brought to you by Transcendent Church of Bass and friends!

UNITING ALL MYSTICS

COMMONALITY AMONGST THE WORLD'S MYSTICS:

If you study the life of past mystics you'll find they share several things in common:

First, they all speak of an induction – or of a need to learn/realize a new level of understanding. They all speak of a fundamental shift in consciousness (be it called awakening, realization, divination, or being born again).

Second they all tell of making a journey into and through a despair process of being “undone” as the precursor to this fundamental shift in consciousness -- be it through experiencing 40 days and nights in the wilderness, starving under the boddhi tree, facing the dark night of the soul, or the hero’s journey. There is a Journey of metamorphosis that all mystics have undergone in some way.

Third, it is an inner journey that must be taken up and navigated alone. This is a hallmark of the mystic’s realization: The reason the journey must be alone is because that which must be faced, seen, and surrendered in order that something new can emerge, is only possible through sustaining the fear and despair process of being alone and meeting the ultimate and fundamental fear of “non-being” and annihilation.

Fourth, they all seem to realize the frustration of being misunderstood by those who have not yet been through the awakening journey -- “those who have ears to hear, let him hear.” A great deal of the mystical writings are devoted almost exclusively to the fact that fundamental spiritual truth cannot be understood by the intellect nor correctly put into words. Forever, the great spiritual teachers have tried through the insufficiency of words to point toward that which can ever and only be experienced and known on a level that is before and beyond the mind. This is something unfathomable to those who have not yet had this breakthrough revelation - and particularly so in our contemporary culture that has become so overly reliant and blinded by the limiting paradigm of the scientific method that forever reduces our understanding of intelligence to that which is sensory, measurable and linear in nature. (...Life isn't (only or always) linear .. In fact it rarely is, except in man-made constructions and habituated uses of the mind.)

I started listening to ambient music officially by accident, or so i keep telling myself. I purchused one album thinking it was something else and it happened to be the godfather of ambient music, Brian Eno. However i did hear others before that, such as Jarre' and Tangerine Dream, but it didn't really take hold till Eno came into my life. Now i live for the stuff, always searching anew And now who knows?

About the Album & Artist:
Brooding, ambient, experimentation, improvisation, filled with emotion… These are some of the words that describe the sound of Evan Marc (aka Bluetech). A classically trained pianist and master of the art of software production, Evan’s love of the melodic and exquisite sense of sound design makes him one of the most ingenious producers today.

Evan achieved international recognition and success with his downtempo / chill-out project, Bluetech, making waves in the chill-out world with his unique sound and top-notch production quality. He released three full length albums on Aleph Zero Records and Waveform Records, as well as starting his own imprint, Native State Records, and touring internationally. A need to expand his sound led him to explore his love for tech-house resulting in his latest album, “Emotional Ecology.”

On “Emotional Ecology,” Evan delves into the deeper side of tech-house, presenting a melodic and dub influenced album with a focus on dance floor usability and emotional development.

"I really wanted to make an album which brought a sense of the sacred to the dance floor,” Evan says of the album. “I've always loved the sense of play that people feel when they release themselves to the moment in dance. It's light hearted, healing, and holy all at the same time. This album was written for people who dance. It was written to make a safe space for people to let themselves go and experience magic through movement."

The album is already receiving support and play from influential DJs, labels, and artists spanning a variety of electronic music genres including Gordon Field (Interchill Records), Gio (Dakini Records / Makyo), Taho (Lumina Records), System 7, and more. Evan’s signature touch on the tech-house sound is sure to make “Emotional Ecology” a stand out release in the genre and a sought after release for collectors who know premium quality electronic music.

PsyBooty Records is proud to present yet another ground breaking, genre bending masterpiece by Evan Marc.

Reviews:
“One of the worlds leading purveyors of IDM brings his talents to the world of tech house, with his classic melodies and soaring dub beats, Evan Marc drops an intelligent, deep and beautiful album for the dance floor.” – Michael Hodgson (Pitch Black, Dubmission Records)

"Evan's sound is as always, unique and inspiring. Its dance music you can chill to. Un-offensive, but still bumping - right where my heart is headed these days!” – Simon Baring (Twisted Records)

"Once again Evan reveals his depth and versatility as one of the most innovative musician/producers around. Emotional Ecology is a brilliant cross-over travelogue that's sure to rock clubs and trance floors world wide." – Naasko (Label Manager, Interchill Records)

http://djmix.net/Crispy/mixes/GoodMorning

Here's a morning chillout set I played during the final few hours of a thee-day event. The night before was silent so those with long drives ahead of them could rest peacefully, and this was the first set of the morning. This blissful mix is a collection of my favorite cheerful, rise-and-shine music.

1. Digital Mystery Tour - Rue Des Roses
2. Pan Electric - Sweet As Rain
3. Kuba - Mura
4. Androcell - All is Full of Dub
5. Lucine ICL - Scheming
6. Gaudi - Chaine a Chaine
7. Nada - Manakhana
8. Shulman - Zero Degrees
9. Omnimotion - Japan (Omnimotion Remix)
10. Youth vs Abakus - Spiritual Being
11. Abakus - California Sunshine
12. Banco de Gaia - We All Know the Truth (You Have God)
13. Secede - Friday Fall

Robert Rich live recordings now available...

Fake Science announces the release of three live recordings by ambient music pioneer Robert Rich. Two concerts in San Francisco (at Morrison Planetarium and Fort Mason) comprise over three hours of live material. These recordings have only ever been heard on the Dub Beautiful Radio internet stream, but now are available for digital download for the first time ever. These are the first live recordings released by Rich since 2001.

http://us1.fakescience.com/music/robertrich/index.php

Robert Rich has a bold entry in the history of experimental ambient music. His recording career began in the early 1980's and spans over 25 albums and continues today. He is credited with co-creating the subgenres Dark Ambient and Tribal Ambient. Each recording displays intricate notes from his wide musical repertoire and include performances on processed steel guitar, bansuri, and his own custom built MOTM module synthesizer.

Live at Morrison Planetarium is a 90 minute set. Live at Fort Mason is comprised of two sub-60 minute sets, and begins with a 12 minute improvised piano solo - the likes of which has never been recorded or released.

Each set costs $5.00 for 320k mp3 digital download (no DRM).

Searching for deep, detailed music like Ishq

Hello fellow Psybient lovers.

I've been searching for some detailed psybient music.
I have a lot of relaxing psybient, but I need to find some of the more 'dark' / 'deep' types.
With a LOT of things going on and detail, while still being nice/trippy to listen to.

A good example is 'Green Sun, Prismatic Sky' especially in the end, it gets really deep, busy and detailed.

What artists should I listen to as well?
Thanks in advance!

The Great Escape of Human Breath is an experimental chill-out live act using didgeridoo through electronical transformations, magical flutes and horns, gongs, percussions,...
This band is really something to experience live! Psychedelic droning and hypnotising fluteplaying to float on...maximum volume yields maximum results.
See www.myspace.com/thegreatescapeofhumanbreath for more...

http://djmix.net/Crispy/mixes/Visitations

Making its Internet debut. This set was recorded at Visitations of a New Dawn in March of '04. It wanders through ambient, psybient and psydub, with a heavy helping of live FX and sample mangling all throughout. Visitations is a personal favorite that deserves to be shared. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

The exact tracklisting will take some time for me to work out, but think Woob, Ott, Shulman and the various Posfordian psydub projects and you'll be in the right ballpark.

hello everyone,

i have finally finished and uploaded my new mix called "Sat Nam" on www.area709.com , so i invite everyone to check it out and leave me feedback. this one is a mash up of psydub/idm/ethno breaks and has a lovely track by mr andrew fry aka the kaida kid.

"Sat Nam means 'truth is my identity' and, as a chant, is used to stop mind chatter by creating a rhythm that produces higher consciousness." -www.experiencefestival.com-

My winter in Nelson has been one of finding personal truths. Shedding layers and looking at myself. This is not always easy, but it is always necessary.

While on this path, I have discovered Kundalini Yoga and a most wonderful teacher. Many of my lessons and much of my giggle-fest bonding have been shared with her. My soul thanks you JamieLeigh.

So for this mix, I am giving to all those who are searching for truth as their identity.

Sat Nam.

SpaceDivers Review by DeathPosture

Check out the review by DeathPosture:

http://www.sonic-energy.net/core/content/view/324/2/

The come-down…

American-slash-Swiss label Dropout Productions is out with their 5th opus – which is also their first downtempo compilation… We’re used to gut-wrenching, hard-hitting hypertrance from these guys, but now they unveil their chilled side… And as you’ll find out, this is anything but regular ambient/chill… More about that later. Let’s find out what the space divers are up to first…

Let me take you thru the tracks…

#01: Master Margeritha – Quiet Place
Swiss chill-out maestro Moreno Antognini begins the spacedive… At the time of release, his debut album Mastura (Electrik Dream Records/2007) was just around the corner, and this track is pretty much a sampler of his talent… What we get here is mellow, soothing chill-out which borders on both dreamy ambient and percussion-rich downbeat… This is a spacy hybrid show-casing everything I like about Moreno’s style… The shaman samples add a more spiritual and evidently psychedelic touch to the mix. A smooth track that will appeal to most trancers. Lovely!

#02: ParaClaw – Chill In The Dark
ParaClaw is a collaboration between Alex Ladyzanskiy (Paranoize) from Israel and Charalambos Pieris (Claw) from Cyprus. They’ve collaborated before (though not as ParaClaw) and I was really impressed with their track on the 2005 Manic Dragon Records compilation Multiple Personalities. Obviously, this track is much less hardcore, but it’s still pretty damn frightening… This is evil, haunting downbeat trance… Rich in IDM-flavour and synth-exploration which ironically is also the biggest set-back of the track… It gets too damn hectic and dark for a while there… I think these guys should stick to producing dancefloor material.

#03: Atriohm – Sun Jump
Leonid & Aleksandar Golcev from Macedonia have released a bunch of really sweet upbeat tracks, and their first venture into downbeat on A Magical Journey 2 (Ajana Records/2006) was really excellent – and so is this! This is much more refined than the previous track, and this is a very lush piece of uplifting chill-out with a serrated edge.

#04: Grapes Of Wrath – D’em D’Aliens
“I believe that the machine opened up a wormhole, a tunnel through the fabric of space-time. Also known as an Einstein-Rosen bridge. Now because of the laws of general relativity, what I experienced as approximately 18 hours passed instantaneously on Earth. Now isn’t it true that these wormholes you speak of are theoretical predictions. There is no evidence they actually exist, is there? There is no direct evidence, no. Tell me something doctor, why do think theses aliens would go to all this trouble, bring you tens of thousands of light years, and then just send you home without a single shred of proof. They said that’s how it’s been done for billions of years. That’s very deep, doctor. You have no proof, because they didn’t want you to have any. A phenomenon known in psychiatric circles I believe as a self-reinforcing delusion.” It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Danish duo G.O.W. (Jacob Skouborg & Morten Wurtz)… Everything I’ve heard from their hands has been immensely psychedelic – and this downbeat offering is no exception… Dubby, crackling, eerie, fuzzy psy-chill filled with bite… The morphing sounds are cool, the Contact samples are chopped up into oblivion and the old-school melodic pads add to the feel-good level here… Yummy!

#05: Dejan – Foulek
Dejan Mihailovic from France has released some real sweet and kinky acid-filled tunes in the past… And kinky is just what this oddball track is… Quirky sounds, unexpected twists, turns and tweaks and a very high concentration of trippy FX… Mix that with a pinch of dub, jazz and avant-garde sampling and you’ve got something close to a description of this lovely track… I dunno what the hell it is, but whatever it is, it works wonders… This is easily the most hypnotic track thus far – and even though it’s pushing the boundaries into plain weirdness, I love it…

#06: Alien Mental – Mental Blues
US-based producer Lalith K. Rao is notorious for his über-dark, horror-filled, terror trax… I’ve had a hard time coping with some of his bizarre antics earlier, and judging by this perverse track I’m still not on the same wave-length as him… This bears little resemblance to the rest of the stuff here, and in essence it’s basically a minimal clash of noize and IDM… It’s not bad at all I’m just not sure why we need this kind of music on this compilation. I’m passing on this one.

#07: Ocelot – Psychedelic Family
American producer Aaron Peacock is a personal fav’e of mine. His VectorSelector album (Dropout/2005) still ranks high on my cool list and I’ll even forgive his somewhat disappointing Dream Selector (Vertigo/2006) album weighed against Aaron’s mostly cool, trippy output… This track is a dubby excursion into psychedelic downbeat… Gnarly FX, rich percussion and lovely synths in a fine blend – though the track seem to loose its focus for the last couple of minutes. It’s still pretty nice though.

#08: Nimba – Space Earth: 2High2Drum
Nimba is American artist Ariane MacAvoy – Goa Gil’s partner in crime and an esteemed member of such legendary acts as Kode IV and The Nommos. What we get here is lush, plush world music with a high concentration of ethno-tribal chill-out…Journey music! Perfect for smoking, tripping and sit-down-trancing… Now this is more like it… Delicious stuff!

#09: Khusuk vs. Bius – Exhilariam
Apparently Khusuk and Bius are the same person: Cayung Siagian from Indonesia, a spiritual spokesperson against the destruction of earth through industrialization. Anyway, what we get here is basically a sound collage of digital bits and pieces. Analogue synths, ambient pads, irregular percussion and odd instrumentation… It has appeal, but for the most part its way too avant-garde and unstructured for my taste… But under the right circumstances (and quite possibly, under the right influence) I’m sure this track has potential.

It’s not every day you get to listen to an actual space dive. And I gotta hand it to Dropout Productions; this compilation is unlike anything I’ve heard before. It is a VERY mixed collection of all kinds of downbeat music. From downbeat terror to virtually beatless illbient, over soothing chill-out to beautiful ambient… Diversity is cool, but ironically that’s also this compilations biggest flaw. The many changes in style and direction kill every shed of flow potential, and as such it doesn’t really work when you play it from start to finish… And that’s a shame.

There are some really great tracks here, but unfortunately also a couple of tracks that seem oddly out of place. Even for a (self-declared) open-minded music freak as myself. With that being said, let me also stress that the great tracks truly are great. And a couple of less-good tracks can’t take that away. So, for home-listening this didn’t cut it for me, but chill-out DJs and single-track-download iPod fans will most definitely find something to their liking here… Enjoy!

Omnimotion- Dream Wide Awake (Aleph Zero)- out now!

Omnimotion- Dream Wide Awake (AlephZ06)

Aleph Zero is proud to present... A New Omnimotion Album!!!

After four years of recording, producing and composing new music in his Ambium Studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, Omnimotion is finally back with a second album. Utilizing inspirations and knowledge he picked up along his very diverse musical path, Stefan has created Dream Wide Awake. The album contains the best musical gems that were carefully chosen from the music that accumulated in this four year period. It is a beautifully mellow yet optimistic album, with a strong acoustic presence. Dream Wide Awake is an incredibly diverse album. It features eight different vocalists- from a rapper to an opera singer- and many guest musicians with an array of instruments including the violin, accordion, guitar, drums, harp & flute. The outcome hovers between the electronic and the acoustic, the hypnotic and the melodic, between abstract ambient and mellow songs, between dubby songs and IDM glitches. Omnimotion weaves and paints here an emotional musical journey that must not be missed and will leave you dreaming wide awake.

Track list:
1. Nothingness
2. Being
3. Days of Silence (feat. Aleah)
4. Wide Awake (feat. Krister Linder)

I am very excited about this release. I just ordered this
Space Funghi Project - Elektrik Psylocibe Experience
http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/sir/sir1cd901.html

How can you not love a track named
" Mary Jane In My Mind"

I knew that my chill collect was in lack of a paticular
sound, but I couldn't quit put my finger on it until
I heard samples of this new release. This is exaclty
the sound I have been looking for. This will really
round out my chill collection and I am looking
very forward to playing these track out!

Lots of drum and bass, with fat psychedelic guitar
riffs, and some jazz fusion that will make you drool.

The description on psyshop is pretty accurate.
"the music is almost like a visual kaleidoscope that
takes the audience through a fusion of sounds and sights"

Track list:
1. Elektrik Psylocibe X-P
2. Funky Monkey
3. Morans Jam
4. The Great Mighty Mushroom
5. Billy Big Mouth
6. Mary Jane In My Mind

LIQUID RECORDS PRESENTS:

Slackbaba- …and the beat goes om…

Release Date: 26/06/2006

TRACKLISTING:
1. A Drop in the Ocean
2. Drink More Tea
3. Sea of Green
4. Long Sunny Daze
5. The Golden Apple
6. Metatron’s sugar cube
7. And the beat goes om
8. Fruit of Mahoot

For soundsamples, bio, and more information please see:

http://www.triskelemanagement.com/promotion/om

“And the beat goes om” is a work of strong catchy basslines, crisp compressed beats and colourful cyber-squelch! Its mix of styles and influences pays tribute a wide angle slice of musical genres that have been aired, on the groovy side of mid-tempo, over the last few years. In this, his debut album, Jonathan Smith (the Slack Baba himself) introduces the un-initiated to his version of events… a melting pot of fluid grooves and swirling psychedelic melodies, a touch of the ethnic and some very respectable bass frequency action…

As one of a new generation of British psychedelic artists, Jonathan’s individual style has produced some memorable live sets; turning down tempo audiences into full tribal stompers at last years Glade and Glastonbury festivals and delivering his cross-boundary hybrid grooves with impunity. His music draws the listener through a labyrinth of pulsing rhythms and mind-bending sonic states, demonstrating his skills in sound manipulation and delivering a new take on psychedelic electronica.

Expect to hear a lot of this album this summer and a lot more from ‘Slack Baba’ in the future. This is a strong debut album that will not only further confirm Jonathan as one of Liquid Records ‘groovers and shakers’, but should also establish his place in the CD cases of DJ’s and punters alike both in the UK and internationally.

REVIEWS…

“Liquid Records' downtempo department has been busy over the past year cooking up some of the frostiest grooves, and Slackbaba's latest release, "And The Beat Goes Om", is undoubtedly one of the plumpest fruits of their labor. Serving up a healthy slice of dubtempo with roots and branches drawing from, and extending into, a myriad of musical directions, Slackbaba's beats are as abstract as a Picasso piece seen through a kaleidoscope, and the production quality is top-notch as well. Don't think you'll be sleeping through this one... this album spans the spectrum of speeds and there is a veritable traffic jam of colliding sounds coming at you from every which way... this music is that busy! “
Axis Mundi – Mushroom Magazine

"There's nothing slack about this baba, his beats slap straight to the om, with a nice touch of dubs, breaks, and smooth electronic sound manipulations to keep your synapses stimulated as the journey unfolds." Chris Organic - Organic Records

"The best thing we have heard in ages, all our friends are raving about it" Steve and Miquette - System 7/Mirror System 7

Love, Light & Majick!

Perpetual Loop ~ Universal Flow (Organic Records)

Full HTML version, with track samples. Visit www.triskelemanagement.com/promotion/perpetualloop

Organic Records announces the second release on the newly launched ORGANIC CHILL with its first of many debut artist albums

Perpetual Loop - Universal Flow

Release Date: 10th July 2006

As with Organic's earlier groundwork albums, Perpetual Loop can be expected to lead you on a mystifying musical journey through the psyche aboard a vehicle of some of the most chilled out world beats and magic carpets of synth atmospheres. "Universal Flow" definitely fits that bill, and immersed within this amazing album are virtual teleportation devices to other places and times, some real, yet at the same time, wholly unimagined... until now. Charles Massey's musical expertise has led to a solid album and has helped him forge his own signature style and take on downtempo chillout electronica with just this one debut album. The pianowork and strings ensembles alone make these tracks a must-listen, but combined with lovingly twisted synths and digital sounds and beats hearkening from nearly forgotten corners of the world makes it even better. "Universal Flow" is distinctly a step away from the cookie-cutter dubtronica downtempo heard so much these days... be sure to check this out while it out while it's at its freshest! Leave your preconceptions at the door and let the Flow grab hold of you!

A bit about the artist:

Perpetual Loop is Charles Massey who is based in Manchester (UK). Classically trained on both the cello and piano, he combines the smoothness of that genre with the harder edge of electronic music, creating his own organic style, embracing computer technology to create Balearic sounds, Tribal beats and Symphonic arrangements. Charles has been writing and producing music for the last fifteen years. In 1995 he set up a night in Liverpool, England, delivering slamming sets of house to progressive to trance music, occasionally taking to the decks himself.
In 1999 he moved down to London, where he concentrated on his own organic music that is relaxing to the mind and soul as well as evolving enough to take the listener on a journey. His atmospheric music blends very well with his other love of film; creating soundscapes that compliment visual images. In 2004, having previously worked on numerous media projects and independent films, Charles had his debut release as Perpetual Loop on Rumour Records’ “Gateway To The Sun”, along-side Michael Dog, Eat Static, Ganja Beats and Chris Organic.
In November of the same year Perpetual Loop released two tracks on Organic Records’ compilation Psymeditation (ORGCD008) which became an instant hit, and has recently had two further tracks released on the follow-up to that CD, Psymeditation 2 (ORGCHILL001). He also releases material under the name of Grebeau. “Universal Flow” is Perpetual Loop’s debut album, and has been much anticipated in the world of psychedelic/ambient/chill. We hope you enjoy it.

Release Date: 15th May 2006

Organic Records has been grooving and shaking the global psy-trance scene since 1997 with such successes such as their Tsunami Benefit triple CD album, which has raised nearly £10,000 to help victims of the disaster, to the pairing of the minds of Colin OOOD and Andrew Humphries into Voice of Cod, whose debut album We Are Free topped charts recently. Organic's latest endeavor, Psymeditation 2, will be no exception to this trend, and the track list speaks for itself! This compilation takes on a bit of a ‘tribal’ feel and brings you into a world of deep meditative vibrations. Featuring Chris Organic, under his new moniker Organic Substance, who has teamed up here with a technological innovator in chill-out music, Pale Moon Rising in a dubby masterpiece with twisting synths and percussions sending you in and out of a dreamstate. Next comes Noodream, once part of the legendary Dragonfly label, with ‘Open the Doors to your Heart’, a dub-laden melodic journey through your mind. Ganja Beats, formerly known as Alien Mutation and Shamanic Tribes on Acid, who’s album 'Paradise and Tranquility is still highly requested and acclaimed, his ultra chill mix on this CD shows why! Lemon Tree delivers an ethno-alien tribal groove with beautiful flamenco guitar melodies by band mate Mark Kingsley. Perpetual Loop, Organic's latest catch, delivers a dreamy soundscape with a maiden album soon to hit shelves. Last but not least up-and-coming artists from Liquid Records… Slackbaba, who puts forth a remix of ‘Drink More Tea’ which will draw the listener through a labyrinth of pulsing rhythms and mind-altering sonic states and Nagual Sound Experiment, a musical geneticist fusing roots and electronic sounds delivers a dub packed psybreaks beauty. Indeed, the past successes of the artists on this eclectic pan-genre lineup are testament to the fact that Organic has been ahead of the curve of 21st century chillout music for some time, and Psymeditation 2 cannot to be missed... this album is a cleanly produced, energized variety pack of audio chocolates sure to sate the appetites of electronica fans from psy-trance to IDM, drum and bass, world beat and so many others. The album has been mastered by Chris Organic, utilizing his patented 32bit sonic manipulation technique. Were sure you’ll be able to hear the difference: a much greater sense of depth in the stereo field while at the same time enhancing the central bass groove. All mixes are exclusive to this compilation

Artist Profiles

Perpetual Loop is Organic Record’s latest catch, Charles Massey is a classically trained pianist and cellist, and has developed a very unique style of ambient/world/dub trance especially for Organic. Perpetual Loop has released previously on Rumour Records, and Organics first Psymeditation. His debut album “Universal Flow” will be released next on Organic Chill later this year.

Noodream is the chilled project by Darren Evans, manager of Dragonfly Records in their heyday. The Noodreem project resulted in well received tracks on the Mana Medicine compilation (Liquid Sound Design 2001), and on Interchills “Arcana” released earlier this year. Working as an engineer in a South London studio, Darren has teamed up with some reknown Indian Musicians and raised his production skills many notches to provide Organic with this very special treat.

Organic Substance is Chris Organics chill moniker and you can rest assured you will hear more coming from him in the future. His first chill release “Tribal Faith” has been released on several comps, and here he uses his reknown recording skills to give us a deep, solid groove overlaid with lush dreamscape sounds, plus sweet melodies and guitars from collaborator Pale Moon Rising. Chris is a qualified and experienced mastering engineer, mastering all of Organic Records releases his own patented 32-bit, 3-dimensional sonic manipulation technique.

Slackbaba is the work of Brighton-based producer Jonathan Smith. A familiar name at parties in London and around the UK, his music is at the forefront of the new wave of British psychedelic artists. His skills of sound manipulation and organic instrumentation present a new take on psychedelic electronica, combining quality production and skillful musicianship with an ability to cross genres tastefully. Jonny's debut album 'and the beat goes om', will be released on Liquid Records in May '06.

Nagual Sound Experiment (NSE) is the dub project of Brighton based electronica and roots producer DJ Cameron Leonard-Schroff aka psybreaks pioneer Mood Deluxe. After spending five years working as a music technology teacher at LACS and ICM and as a freelance engineer and programmer within the Los Angeles music industry, Cameron returns to the UK to begin his career as a recording artist with Liquid Records. 2006 will see the release of both the debut Mood Deluxe and NSE. His Sound Design has been used in commercials, film and multimedia gaming including credits from Discovery Channel, SciFi Channel, Disney, Inside Cinema, Nike and numerous indie films. Cameron has also recently completed his first feature length film score to a soon to be unleashed hi energy Japanese manga/ anime.

Unconscious Collective is the outlet for the non-trance output of OOOD and have performed live at Liquid Connective parties and the Glade festival, where their set included live drums, guitar, keyboards and three vocalists. In addition to their collaborative studio tracks with Ramsay, Steve, Ryo and Colin all write solo music under the UC banner. 'A New Way of Thinking' is Colin's experiment into the alternative composition techniques offered by an early beta version of AudioMulch, a modular composition and sound design environment developed by the Australian Ross Bencina (http://www.audiomulch.com). It was then mixed in Cubase where extra parts were also added, including the haunting piano melody at the end, which was recorded in one take."

Lemon Tree are a proudly British band; Paul Bacon was once part of a punk outfit featured on the John Peel show, now teamed up with Little River's recording engineer/ flamenco guitarist Mark Kingsley as atmospheric chill band Lemon Tree. They have released previously on Chris Organic's compilations on both Rumour Music and the first Psymeditation, a track on there so legendary it has had them as one of the most requested live chill bands on the festival circuit, including Sonica in Italy.

Ganja Beats is the dub offshoot of one of chill-out music’s crowned Princes, producer/artist/musician Jake Stephenson, also once known as Shamanic Tribes on Acid, one of the original uk psychedelic trance bands, also as Alien Mutation, Crystal Moon and Dr Psychedelic. His debut album ‘Ganja Beats’ released last year is still steadily selling copies today! Jake was involved in the psychedelic scene from the mid/late 80's primarily in the psych rock band paperhouse who were well known for their electrifying gigs. Jake has released on many trance compilations and labels such as Kinetix, Waveform, and previously on Organics Psymeditation and the limited edition Tsunami Benefit CD.

We are also looking for quality promoters and production crews worldwide to host Organic Chill CD launch events. We can also offer an Organic Records Label party. If you are interested, feel free to contact Robin@triskelemanagement.com to discuss what’s on offer.

Love and Light,
