Automatic Writing

I bought a book called "Doors to Other Worlds" about 12 years back...and practiced and attempted to do automatic writing for some time. On my last occasion doing this, I felt apull into like a black open expanse as my hand began to jut across the page. I was in a meditative state and at one point felt as though I was losing control and feared meeting up with or being channeled through by a negative spirit and launched myself out of this state. Has anyone ever done this, have more thoughts as to what energies will be connecting with you while doing this, and if there is the possibility of connecting with a negative spirit, how you can protect yourself from this? I would like to continue to examine this and experience what it may possibly have to offer but want to know what obstacles may lay ahead of me in this quest.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Welcome to the 2 new members. I've been absent from this group since March?. Anyone have any interesting experiences or stories to tell? I've been mainly watching my awareness in the present moment. No extraordinary experiences but that is perfectly fine. My past is filled with OOBEs, lucid dreams, satoris (brief flashes of insight), kundalini awakenings and so on. I just do not seem to be focused on these past experiences these days so it's difficult to write about them. I am interested in hearing about your life experiences if you have something to share.

Well, maybe you have a story to share about astral projection?
Here's a little one:
I went into my buzzing/electrical/rigid state while lying on the sofa in the living room in the old farmhouse I lived in for many years. My family were in beds upstairs asleep. I drifted up over my body, first stopping at the ceiling then drifting outside the house and up into our gigantic ancient red oaks that surrounded the house. The energy of the trees were ecstatic to me and eventually I drifted down into the front yard where a glowing phosphorescent mandala was on the ground pulsating. I landed in the center of it and immediately fell asleep.

Crystals

Does anyone in this group have or use crystals? How and what kind?

Here's an experience in had (again) in 1970 in Tempe, AZ. I found an amethyst crystal lying on the ground in a dirt yard of a kundalini ashram. When I picked up the crystal and held it in my hand my energy shifted and I shared my essence with this crystal. It's hard to explain but I became the totality of the crystal essence and the crystal (quite alive) experienced my human essence. I don't know how long this experience lasted - perhaps only minutes...but when the experience ended I was in a heightened level of awareness.

I found a clear quartz crystal about the size of a mango while walking in a recently plowed field near my previous house here in NC. This crystal had a feeling of previously belonging to someone centuries ago. I have it but I don't "use" crystals much in my life except in the dream state. I've had some amazing dreams of finding all colors, shapes and sizes of crystals in many dreams.

What do crystals mean to you, if anything?

mandalas and spiritual art

This is something I wrote in my regular blog a couple of days ago .

Mandalas: they first started appearing in my life in early 1968 during meditations. I would see a constant evolving, moving mandala changing with my eyes closed.
I didn't draw my first mandala until early 70 when I lived in Oakland, Calif with some art student friends. The internal visions became stronger so I started drawing little mandalas and decoupaging them on small circular pieces of redwood from driftwood I found on Point Reyes. I had a fine tipped drawing pen and colored pencils and soon made "amulets" which I sold on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley on the street in front of a big bookstore. Sometimes I got money for my work but also got food, food stamps, drugs, books and other things in exchange for the amulets.

Sometime during the early spring of 70 I had a series of profound experiences on a particular morning...no drugs involved with this. I was walking along one the streets that ran parallel to Merrit Park, barefoot as usual, and stopped to look into an antique store window that had some lovely chinese ceramic statues of buddha and other similar beings. Suddenly, I felt the presence of a being merge with my consciousness and I became blissed out in silence and the totally of all things...oneness. I'm not sure how long the experience lasted, maybe a minute or less but I was now into a different level of awareness and decided to walk back to my house in Oakland. Shortly after returning my energy was running intensely. I already went through some kundalini experiences during the last couple years living in Cambridge, MA so I thought this may be what was happening. A large vibrant moving glowing mandala appeared in front of me and it morphed into each color of the chakras. When one color was "complete" it entered my being at that chakra until it completed the next color where it again entered my being at that particular chakra. This process involved all the basic seven chakras and my energy was very profound at this point. Suddenly, the room I was in disappeared and I was in the middle of a southwestern desert surrounded by an intense but soothing pink light and perceive a most lovely sound of the emanations of the desert - it's tonal song.

After these experiences my mandala creations increased dramatically with eventually drawing and painting larger images which I mostly gave away.

Another profound mandala experience I happen in my hitch-hiking journey across the US in 1970. I went to Tempe, AZ looking for a girlfriend in an ashram but found the ashram but she had left for the mountains. I met some folks who let me stay with them for about a week as I had an awful case of poison oak from....guess where...Oakland. One of the fellows was really into peyote so I was pretty blissed out during my stay. I had taken peyote numerous times before with always the most amazing experiences. This time was yet another one but I will only talk about my vision with my mandala that I had drawn that I carried with me. To make a long vision short...the mandala came alive in many dimensions and i had this vision of making mandalas...painting, drawing, multimedia along with my own music coming from different parts of a room. I knew this vision was important and I'm still living it.

One other mandala experience happened one night when I was sitting in my parents backyard in Cape Cod, MA during a full moon. A fell into a trance while looking at the moon and it (the moon) became the center of a very large (whole sky) mandala..extremely powerful and beautiful. I suddenly slipped out of my body and all the colors of the mandala became spirit/beings - glowing in whiteness. I seemed to recognize faces of people connected to me as I headed towards the moon. I felt myself virtually circle the moon like a rocket ship and when I came back around I was in my body again. The whole night was shimmering and my yard had many waves of energy moving about. I "saw" the astral form of my father wandering around the house. He had left my mom a couple of months previous.

So, there you have it. I do mandalas...or they do me. Sometimes they are kind of decorative and others have some powerful energies to them that others can perceive and experience at different levels of awareness.

Kundalini experiences

I was drawing at my art table during 1968 living in Cambridge, MA when this experience occured.

I started shaking and felt my energy rise up quickly from my root chakra and out through the top of my head. I could see my self rising above my body, looking down at the top of my head seeing the silver cord connecting me. My consciousness first went through a couple of quick scenarios: out of the room, above the building, through the clouds above the city, further and further into blackness and space....the Earth getting smaller...smaller...I thought I was going to die....my consciousness exploded in the darkness of space into millions of fragments of self still aware of the Earth as now just a star object. With all my remaining ego I called out with as much intent as possible, "God, please help me! Save me!"

Instantly I was back in my body but I was seeing in many dimensions simultaneously. i was hearing and seeing energies that I never saw before: people in the room connected by cords of light connecting them in the solar plexus area, thought forms emitting from everyone, strange sounds not unlike electronic sounds, seeing everything in front of me with my eyes either open or closed, projecting in and out of my body through the different chakras where I saw all kinds of dimensions and visual distortions - not unlike Alice In Wonderland or the Carlos Castaneda experiences. I was perceiving my body surrounded by a bubble of energy which had a tear in it and through this tear all kinds of beings and thought forms were penetrating my consciousness.

This experience took about a month to end and during this time I was mosty non-functional. Fortunately, and I don't know how I did it, I managed during this time to have a draft physical which I flunked because I had too many psychological abberations and the military did not want me.

Many of the visions and perceptions of energy stayed with me for a number of years. Some of the experiences that I experienced at that time were: seeing energy around people; seeing and sensing former or future incarnational selves; energies being emitted from music colors, shapes and patterns; hearing peoples inner dialogues; sensing the inner connectedness of all things; energy exchanges with crystals; meeting friends in the dream state; seeing my artwork transform before my eyes in continuing changing pieces of work; hooking objects with strands from my solar plexus - especially to pull me while running; visions of mandalas; astral projections including an amazing trip to the moon and back surrounded by circles of spirits; seeing past lives and seeing my connection to others from previous lifetimes; seeing my own thought forms which at that time was a rather confusing ability as I often couldn't differentiate between my projections and my ordinary reality.

introduction

I've been having psychic or extraordinary experiences since I was a child. I used to astral project around my home and then to other places when I was around 10 years old. I had a series of kundalini experiences starting when I was around 20 years old. This brought on many psychic experiences which I will talk about later. The kundalini experiences brought some intense instability in my life at that time. Over the years I've learned to understand what happened to me then - 1969 through 1972 and what continues to happen to me now. I'd like to share some of my experiences here and hear some of yours.

spiritual guidance...seen and unseen

How do you all feel about spirit guides, guidance seen and unseen? Have you ever had contact with a guide or a being from another plane of consciousness? either through dreams, meditation, mystical experiences.

Lucid dreams can be a powerful way to connect with guides or deceased relatives...as they have for me.
Spiritual contact can happen in so many ways and in various manifestations.
Some of the manifestations I had was with mandalas... around the moon or even seeing the mandala energy come into my room and enter my body at each chakra or even emerge from a piece of artwork that I was creating....and morphing into past-life images.
Well, I have much to say about this but will wait to hear from some of you first. Peace.

a personal note

I've always been a bit reluctant or ambivalent about writing about some of my personal experiences especially those pertaining to Kundalini, psychic experiences, astral projections and other extraordinary experiences. I have gone for years without talking about this stuff and then start up again like I've done here on tribe. Most of what I have written about took place in the late 60's and early 70's. Decades of time have passed which have blurred the intensity of these experiences.
Do they matter? Did they matter?
Did I have the intense kundalini experiences so I didn't have to serve in the military at the time I was being drafted to go to Vietnam in 1968?
I think in the 'bigger' scheme of my life, yes!

Anyhow, here I amy again attempting to write about some personal experiences and I'm tottering. I've already been 'flamed' by a 'master' who told me not to put words in her head and go take a flying leap. Okay. What? .... Hmmmm. I don't need those kind of reactions in my life. All I did was just tell my experience exactly as I remembered it without any value judgement or spiritual ego (hopef'ully).

I even tried to end this tribe Psy Fleye but was told by a Tribe person in charge that this tribe would not be dropped because it's not in the spirit of Tribe to do that - it's a community thing for community involvement and also there had been some recent activity there.

So, I will go back on my dream horse and ride the starry skies gathering up the golden dust of my personal history spread all across the universe.

Visiting

I was lying on the sofa in my farm house living room in NC late one evening in 1987. My wife and two daughters were asleep upstairs in our bedroom. I felt my body start to tingle and began to feel charged with an electric-type current accompanied by some weird electronic sounds. I've experienced these same sensations many times before so I knew what was about to happen. My body seemed to stiffen as my astral body floated up and around the room by the ceiling - with my head feeling stuck to the ceiling. I soon drifted upstairs to my bedroom where my family was sleeping. They seemed okay and did not waken.

Instantly I was in another big room filled with people chatting in small groups surrounded by a pleasant, friendly light. Nobody seemed to sense my presence and I began to listen to pieces of conversations in the room. The talk was mainly about the Kennedy family (JFK, JPK, etc) and also about my father. All the talking was positive, soft and calm. (My father worked for the Kennedy family for many years during the 60's as a chauffeur among other jobs)

My father had just passed away a week ago from a stroke in Hyannis, MA. I had just returned from my visit to him while he was in a coma and then organized his funeral services.

So, my attention shifted to another section of the room, to a staircase, where a man was sitting. It was my father but he looked in his mid 30's instead of 59, the age he had passed away. He seemed to be in a trance and not aware of what was going on around him. I called out, "Father". He seemed to snap out of his trance and turned to look at me, smiled, stood up and walked slowly towards me. My father held out his hand and he had in it a glowing triangle. He handed the triangle to me and when our hands touched my whole life together with my father flashed before my eyes. There was complete forgiveness in that touch.

I took the glowing triangle and then felt a pull, like someone was pulling or tugging me with a rope. I started to get pulled faster, moving away from my father and the room. Blam! I was back in my body on the sofa and I was crying intensely. I eventually went up to my bedroom and put my 2 girls in their own beds. I woke up my wife to tell her what had just happened and started crying again.

I read the first Castenada book in 1970 when living in Oakland, CA. I was totally blown away by this book and all his other books. In 1970 I was trying to understand some of my spontaneous Kundalini energy awakenings which were very intense. The closest I could come to anything that was similar were Castenada's experiences. They verified my own feelings of sanity as I now could relate to someone actually having similar experiences as mine...I wasn't alone. The kundalini explosion (that's what it felt like) seemed to have torn through the bubble that surrounds and protects us... from experiencing powerful multidimensions and some of the distorted perceptions I perceived while in those places. It took years of self-discipline (meditating, yoga, running, macrobiotics) to close that tear in my bubble so I could be somewhat functional in my daily life.....you know...like work, drive, eat, not hallucinate all the time.

Astral attacks

Hi, I'm new here.
I've never been attacked by any astral beings when out of the body. I've been harrassed by astral beings, fed by my fearful thought forms, while in my body in an altered state which can be very annoying. These beings/thought forms will usually disappear when you ask for a higher power to help you or visualize white light surrounding you.

Do animals have ESP?

I was sitting on a sand dune by the ocean at Sandy Neck, MA with my german shepherd. She looked at me and I got this thought or image from her that she was going to die very soon. I have had many esp experiences but this one from my dog was too much for me to accept. Later that night my dog had a massive heart attack in my kitchen and died.
I was extremely saddened by the death of my dog. About a week later I was in bed and I had an astral projection where I slipped out of my body because I heard my dog by my door. I was ecstatic to see her again and touched her and she felt very real. She even licked me. Then she stepped back while looking at me and a blue and white aura surrounded her. The aura got very bright and also shrunk in size until my dog was just a spot of white light and then disappeared.
I slipped back in my body, got up and felt like all the sadness had disappeared.

Here are just a few things I'd like to share and discuss with you: kundalini, visions, seeing energy around people (auras), connecting to past and future selves, thought forms, crystals, shared dreams, astral projection, meeting guides, finding spirit animals and helpers.
The kundalini awakening was by far the most intense experiences of my life which, at times, gave me the power to experience most of the experiences or abilities listed above.
I no longer experience much of the above psychic manifestations in my life on a regular basis. They come and go and whenever I get down to relaxing and meditating they begin to reappear.
