public - created 04/12/06
Puredata is open source music/video software. It is free for all. It was created by Miller Puckett and is still maintained by him. It is in the family of patcher programs known as max. if you are familiar with MAX/MSP or Native Instruments Reaktor this interface will be almost intuitive for you.

It is available for free download at:

puredata.info

It is available for all operating systems, but functions must smoothly in Linux/GNU. It is fully midi compatible for all your gear. It is also fully functionally with all of your other music software, such as Abelton Live, and is JACK enabled, for OS X users.

If you are interested at all in audio or video creation and mixing, and don't have thousands to spend on commercial, closed source software, check out this powerful program, and join the community!
