Welcome!

Hi to any freaks or geeks who actually join this tribe. I am a n00b on pd, but I am learning pretty fast, and I would like to share my creations with others. Later this evening I will try to post a janky mp3 mixer I made with pd.

      Yo,

Pd is puredata. It is a music/video processor (aka digital signal processor) that is cross-platform and open source, meaning you can use it on any computer for free. I know you are into production, so I thought you might be interested in this program. You can look at more in depth on the web at:

      puredata.info

It is like NI's reaktor, if you have ever used that software. The thing about pd is that is powerful, but not fancy. It is kind of difficult to get off the ground, but once you do, you can do basically anything you want right now. Like I said, I am programming a mp3 mixer in the pd environment, which I can't upload to tribe, I think, but it can be used as an effects processor, sequencer, sampler, drum machine, or almost anything. The nice thing is the on-line community - basically anything you want pd to do, someone has programed it to do that, and you can download their patch for free.

If you are into it, maybe we could get together some time, and I can show what I know about it, which is pretty limited.
