A moment to reflect & share recent and past events, concerning this community of ours and a debriefing of 2007. I’m not one to write many blogs or keep constant update on my life on tribe.net, but I am a believer in using it for the purpose of outreach and communication to the community at large.
For the sake of information and using my words, like a big girl should, I am stating the fact that I am simply pissed off.
Actually disgusted.
Actually, mortified and turned inside out, about to cry, but ready to punch someone in the face.
Because I’ve been taught to semi-control my outrages, I’ve decided just to pour it out, puke it up, and divulge the gnarlyness that I feel inside about the darkness stirring in this “community”
Yes. Quote community.
Burning Man. 8 years of Burning Man.
Genres & sub-genres breaking off. Birds of a feather flocking to their cliques.
Fleathers, hipsters, hippies, rockers, rock stars, starwalkers… whateva’s…
Staying neutral in the whole scene, which as we know it is, a scene, I’ve watched the popularity contests, I’ve watched the peacocks flaunt themselves all over El-circo. I’ve seen the who’s-who get their egos stroked & the queens rise and fall.
We all know names and blah,blah,blah…
What I wanna know is WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH ALL OF THIS DRUG USE PEOPLE?
The over-use is so bad, it’s fucking disgusting.
Someone just died! And we all know who it is…
We all know Ketamine is in. We have all been doing E since before E was cool. Coke has been a massive problem since the 80’s… and still is…
So WOW People, do you really not know yourselves yet? Are you still searching for that high like the 1st time? Guess what, it’s never gonna happen. It’s Physiology people.
It’s just the fact for a lot of folks, it’s every party, every weekend. I mean get a grip.
And guess what, you can get high without snorting lines, without injecting yourself, without popping pills… sweet… it can happen…and ya know, you can have all of those kewl esoteric epiphanies that you get when serotonin systemically drains into body, by having an enlightening conversation or hey, going for a run, dancing… what an idea… I could think of a million more…

I’m not putting myself on a perfection pedestal. But, I obviously have an issue here.
It’s bad. My attitude sucks. I should go lock myself into a closet and scream & cry myself to sleep, in which I prolly will after I post this blog.

But this really hit home with me this 2007, as I sat at home on New Years Eve, pondering about important things, other than the raging parties I was missing.
I realized that this fire that is burning so deep, so real, so hot and so intently all started around a major home-breaking issue that I experienced with my immediate family, in dealings with the infamous YOHAI.
Yeh, that fucking asshole.
Yeh, the guy that hands out drugs to people so that he can have them in his pocket… Yeh, I said it.
Yeh, the guy that has screwed over every person that he crosses paths with. Yeh, the guy that everyone hates, but smiles to his face.
Yeh, well, I ain’t smiling.
The only thing that puts a smile on my face is the fact that he got deported back to his country. WOW, maybe there is a god. Or as Sierra put it, “Israel is the Motherland!”
Thanks for taking that piece of shit home.
Cuz the repercussions that have happened since my People, my family, my Boys got involved with that guy, have been atrocious. Nasty, Embarrassing, dark, evil, disgusting.
Makes me want to puke…
So there it is people… there’s my 2007 vomit… all up on your computer screen.
And ya know, I feel so much better. So much so, I think I’ll have a cup of tea.
For what it’s worth, I love electronic music, I love the high I get from dancing. I won’t stop going to parties because there’s drugs or big-fat-balding-bitch-ass-poser-drug-slinging-yohai’s, but I refuse to be quiet about the things that are happening from my little point of view & I really hope we can take a vow to keep each other in check a little bit more around these issues, so that no one else dies or gets screwed over…
P.S. Happy 2008 folks, I love you.

Packing thousands of watts of sound, a full DJ rig, and some of the coolest effects lighting I've ever seen incorporated into a vehicle, it's designed from the ground up to literally bring the party to you.

This promo mixset is a sampler of the slower stuff I like to play as Tao Jones. It's basically a condensed version of the hour and a half to two hours I normally play. It starts off all chunky and hiphop, gets glitchy, rages it, catches it's breath, and then get's all wobbly in the low end. The last track I probably wouldn't play at an event unless it was really appropriate, but it's one of my favourite songs ever so I thought I'd share it with you.

Friday May 4: Lawgiverz @ Experiment #3

The Experiment continues! Experiment #3 is, quite simply, one of the main reasons I wanted to get involved in the project to begin with. While the Lawgiverz are hardly a household name, their music and their performance is not to be missed. I first heard/saw them perform about a year and a half ago, and I'm still trying to find words to describe the experience. As a huge music geek/addict, that doesn't happen all that often. In a way, I think they sort of changed my relationship with music somehow. This sort of evolution of music and technology and sound and thought - it was mind-boggling (to say the least). I've seen them a couple times since, and they keep doing it. And like any proper music addict... I'm looking for another fix.

So in May we're bringing R-Kidz and Noize over from the UK to give us a performance as the Lawgiverz. They've got some new material up their sleeves, and I don't doubt their skills have continued to improve. Using computers and CDJ's and turntables and all manner of gadgetry, they'll serve up an amazing array of sound, literally crafting songs and remixing tracks for us, live as part of their performance. We've been working on ideas and designs for the venue and their performance (as well as the ten other artists on the bill... the night is literally *loaded* with top-flight entertainment). May 4th - it's actually an event that's worth traveling to San Francisco for. So mark your calendars and call your travel agents... and prepare for Experiment #3!

Better ads will be working their way across the internet soon enough, but I figured I'd let you know so you can plan your social calendars accordingly. March 2nd over at Fat City (the old Studio Z space). New owner, new sound system, and hey - now they've got a new monthly.

The Experiment will be kicking off on First Fridays, starting on March 2nd. EVAC's coming out from NYC. Plus we've got Smoove, Hypnotech, Neuranaut, and BreakBeatBuddha (whose new artist album just dropped, I highly recommend checking it out). Eskmo's going to throw down a bangin' set in the big room, then he'll slide on over to the side room and play another set as Welder (maybe we can get him to do a costume change, Cher-style or something). And of course let's not forget some of the Y no. 5 crew rounding things out - Friction, Flook, and Evan Bender. Should be a great night...

Not only do I have a new mix up of my own, but I've also added Eskmo's performance from The Temple Of Breaks at Burning Man. Those of you who were there know what I mean - the entire night was magical. He graciously allowed me to share the set, and I've finally gotten the set encoded in "enhanced" MP3 format. Wednseday nite Temple of Breaks, was the fuckin Shit!

I do' jus have to say, that party wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Jesh.
We pulled up, and no one else was there. Apparently the wind storms had fucked up a lot of people's shit. But Friction> YOU ARE THE BOMB< He worked his Ass off to pull thru.
Used every single one of his cords, all his equipment, and maxed out the Cruizer. All for the benefit of the Temple Of Breaks.
Give Jesh some props for all his hard work...
We tore it up with all the hotties on the flame throwers,Space Island and their entire line-up, worked with Disorient and his crew to pump up the sound wattage, and danced our asses off with Abundant Sugar cats and the Miracle Gro flower.
SIC!
However, We did miss Raphael and Stefano w/ the VIking Ship and the Space Wench : '-( no thanks to the BLM...

Thursday nite was ill as well. Thanks to Tasha and the FLG, the Serpant Mother was off the hook.

But regardless, we have decided to have the Thusday night blast off at the Serpant Mother, which is a BM funded art installation, created by the Flaming Lotus Girls:

We have decided we are shooting straight for 10:00 and Chance.
So yes, we are taking a chance on Chance, and we will head towards 9:30ish if someone is in our spot.
Oh- I registered us on beatmaps as well to steak our claim- We'll see who we're in competition w/ once were out there, but hopefully it won't be an issue.

Temple of the breaks '06

Temple of the breaks is in it's 3rd year.
you may remember this, it takes place wednesday night out at the temple,
(last year zapper and myself threw down for about four hours through the dawn)
and has been hosted by the space wench. the space wench is not going to the playa
this year : (
SO Temple of the Breaks will now be hosted by the Miracle Gro, aka 'the flower' .....
you know the one....
they are looking for more sound and/or other artcars w/ sound that are interested in
linking forces....we need mo' power!!!

So, I'm starting to line up folks to play sets on our loverly cruizer.
If you're one of those people, please let me know that you want to spin, and appoximatly what night.
Trust me, I know how shit goes out there, and it can be pretty fucking hectic and gnarly sometimes. If things don't go as perfeclty planned on the outside, it's cool. I'm not a Nazi about shit.
