Greetings Fire Tribe,

My name is Bliss, in late June Ian Smith and I will be traveling through Ohio teaching classes in fire art and bellydance. We are from Oakland CA and we are looking forward to sharing skills as we travel to and from Wildfire. We are planning to be in Ohio late June and
would love to know what classes would be of most benefit to your community based on local interest. Feel free to share these descriptions online or send to the fire dance community in emails to see what classes people are interested in signing up for. Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing some flow on dance and fire.

Blessings,
Bliss
bliss@blissbutterfly.com

Bliss Butterfly~

Bliss is a professional fire bellydance instructor & performer and an avid
student of the movement arts. She began her practice of yoga at fourteen
and incorporates the balance of acroyoga in dance prayerformances. She has
offered a variety of workshops at events and festivals which include
yoga, bellydance, hoop bellydance, fire bellydance, and double staff
dance. Her philosophy on the art of fire began and continues to stem from
a dance backround and gives emphasis to proper body mechanics, technique,
movement and interaction with fellow dancers. All workshops with Bliss
begin with warming up muscles with specific stretches for the areas of
repeated use in class. Bliss is a fiery bellydancer and enjoys sharing the
inspiration that is this community! www.blissbutterfly.com

PLAYSHOPS OFFERED BY BLISS BUTTERFLY

Beginning Bellydance: Study the ancient art of bellydance infused with
fresh breaths of modern style with Bliss! Learn to isolate body movements,
improve posture, increase body awareness, and dance with strength and
grace. A variety of music styles from traditional, electronica and hip hop
keep this class popping out of the box and locking it up.

Intermediate Bellydance: For dancers that have already studied bellydance
and are ready to refine skill and to discover ways to layer movements and
timing. Our warm up will begin with yoga and core strength training
exercises to advance our balance and poise. In this playshop we will pay
attention to detail of belly rolls and work on layering movements with
them. From there we will explore a wide range of shoulder possibilities
from slow and slinky to fast and tricky. Make your mind spin as we layer
movements and timing. Then we throw everything together and play with
combining slow movements with fast movements, levels and lots of laughter.
A short hafla and cool down will set the playshop to a close.

Fire Fan Bellydance: (All levels) In this playshop we will combine
bellydance with fire art dancing with fans. We will briefly discuss the
different types of fire fans, fuels and prop safety. Techniques for
spinning the fans as well as intricate formations combined with dance will
be explored as we refine ideas of presentation of the fire art in relation
to planes of the flames to the audience. Plan a workshop for your
bellydancing or fire art troupe and expand performance possibilities.

Fire Bellydance- (Intermediate) Learn to combine the movements of
bellydance with fire art. The possibilities of prop combination include
(but are not limited to) fans, palms, sword, poi, staff, double staff,
hoop or contact juggling. This class will begin with yoga to stretch and
condition the entire body, and to center into our movement and breath. We
will then drill several techniques of bellydance and learn a sequence of
dance to add our props to. Each prop is unique and will require a slight
difference of movement vocabulary, come prepared with the tools that you
feel most comfortable with so the focus can be on adding dance with your
favorite prop! We will end with a short cool down. Prior experience with
the prop of your choice is recommended for this playshop.

Double Staff Dance- (All levels) We will begin with a basic warm up
incorporating yoga postures, and an emphasis on wrist, elbow and shoulder
care. Then we will cover the concepts of beats, direction and timing to
gain orientation of our bodys' movements and the staffs' movements. We
will cover antispins, isolations, translations, newtons and some playful
dance to get you out of your head and into interacting with the audience
and your fellow flow artists. Let's dance! Some practice double staves
will be available, if you have them bring your own.

Ian Michael Smith~

I have been fire dancing for about eight years. Poi is my favorite and I
also spin staff, double staff, double whips, contact juggling, and ball
juggling. I currently perform with Vulcan Crew, Copper Lantern Fire
Theater, LumenAscent, Think13 and have recently started to work with Bliss
Butterfly. I am also a modern dancer. I have trained extensively in the
Axis Syllabus, and currently perform with Capacitor and Corpi Liquidi. I
was involved in founding the Spinagogue, and am currently involved in
creating Kindle, the first fire arts culture magazine.
ianmichaelsmith.com

PLAYSHOPS OFFERED BY IAN SMITH

Spin from the Hip (Int.)-This class is all about the pretty under-curve
that the wrist does when transitioning at the hip. We will examine
underutilized versions of moves you probably already know, like the 2-beat
weave, as well as some unusual turning techniques. Using the hip
transition can make the same pattern look completely different, and the
audience will notice the difference between the 3-beat and 5-beat weave.

Intermediate/Advanced Staff Spinning- This class will introduce off-center
grips and how they can be useful. The we will take a quick tour through
different ways to pass the staff from hand to hand, work on some pendulums
and non-linear planes and then learn technique that uses the body like a
lever to move the staff and how to use the momentum of the staff to
initiate body movement.

Intermediate Staff Dance- This Class will focus on interactions between
the staff and your body. We will do a quick overview of off-center
spinning then work with using the momentum of the staff to move your body
and visa versa. We will then work with aspects like quality and levels
and end with ways to utilize the hand that does not have the staff in it.

Poi Dance Techniques (All levels)- This class will focus on techniques and
drills I have found useful when learning to dance with poi. We will cover
pendulums, stalls, polyrhythum, turning, and hip transitions.

Beginning Contact Staff- This exiting class will introduce the building
blocks of contact staff allowing the staff to move around the body without
using the hands to grip. No experience is necessary, however basic staff
skills are recommended prior to taking this class. We will explore contact
points around the body, rolls vs. wraps, halos, movements necessary for
steves, and other useful contact moves that can be built upon for
intermediate and advanced contact staff.

PLAYSHOP OFFERED BY IAN AND BLISS

Partner Poi (Intermediate to Advanced)- The art of partner poi will add a
beautiful dynamic to performance while advancing skill level and
understanding of poi. This class will cover the basics of pendulums,
turns, timing and cues to discover ways of dancing around your partner
adding the necessary trust to advance in more difficult movements. Then
we will progress to intermediate partner poi moves of butterfly and tread
the needle gaining a greater understanding of planes. Finally explore more
advanced weave patterns and ways to interlock and transition between
different beat weaves and body orientation of you and your partner. All
participants should be able to do all these basic movements on their own
before attending this class. Please bring practice poi if you have them,
we will have some extra pairs to provide.

Here are some videos so you may see what kind of art we create. Hope you enjoy.

WickerMan 2009

The second annual WickerMan is almost upon us! WickerMan is the mid-Atlantic's burn with an Earth Spirited twist. Personal exploration, inspiration without sanction, possibility without constraint. It is on the Land that we become a community of participants, taking action through Art, Fire and Self Expression. WickerMan is an Altar to the Possible on the Land that Sustains us all.

Within this ethos are the gifts of our participants- Theme Camps, Art, Performance and Volunteering. We have a wild and diverse host of registered Theme Camps and Art this year. Experience everything from Flaming Tetherball (yes, that is verbatim) to Spanish flaming liquor rituals and everything in between. You could find yourself leading an impromptu yoga class or rocking your body in Sound Town, an all night aural cornucopia of DJs from across the East Coast, matched by our largest Art Grant ever for deco lighting and decorations.

We started with $6,000 in the Art Grant budget for Artists to fund a variety of initiatives, from Altars to Performance to Installations. And we still have a bit left to give out for late proposals, so do ask! Our Artists are guaranteeing us a visual feast of beautiful little installations, big in-your-face performances and tokens like free noodles or a new 'do. Join Ohio Burn Unit to perform during the Fire Conclave, really its beautiful.

If Volunteering is your cup of tea, there are many fields where your hands are needed. Consider Ranging to keep WckerMan the litter free event it was last year, or Greeting your fellow burners as they arrive. If swinging a hammer is your thing, then there is a place for you to help build the Man. Set-up Weekend is May 15-17, and that's a head-on collision with what lies behind the curtain. We've ordered the lumber and are preparing our designs for building the WickerMan. Come join the crew to create the biggest effigy east of the Mississippi! Just the normal $10 a night grounds fees apply, day trips are free.

May 21st-25th is the Burn, he flames on Saturday night, early-in and late-out is fine by us. Joe Average registration closes May 9th at $55, Better late than never closes May 19th at $65. And then there is THE GATE.

Visit www.wickermanburn.org for more information and online registrations. Or call the office at 814.784.3080.
Set-up May 15-17, The Burn May 21-25

WickerMan is an event that brings together Burn Culture, the Art of Giving, Ecological Responsibility, culminating in an event that depends of the Radical Self-Expression of each individual. Based on the tenets of Burning Man of the Black Rock Desert, we actively incorporate their founding principles- Communal Participation, Decommodification, Radical Inclusion and Radical Self-Reliance. In essence, at WickerMan, Radical Self-Expression Meets Radical Earth Spirit.

We convene to celebrate what we as individuals offer to the community, through Art, Gifting and Self-Reliant Participation. Together we commune within the land to build and burn the biggest Man east of the Mississippi River. Individual participation is what makes this event happen, we depend on each other for content and execution. Every contribution, from Volunteering to Art Creation is essential to facilitate this WickerMan. What can you bring to the table?

Art, in its many mysterious ways, is at the core of this event. WickerMan offers over $6000 to fund a variety of Art initiatives, everything from Theme Camps to beautiful Installations, Altars and Performance. Through Action and Creation we transcend the expected and stretch the paradigm of the possible.

WickerMan will again take place at Four Quarters of Artemas, PA, a beautiful ecologically diverse campground. Four Quarters has natural swimming holes in Sideling Creek, rolling meadows and pine forest. Four Quarters also has a great Ride-Share database to help you carpool to the event. Bring yourself and your inspiration to be a part of a community separate from the 'default world'. Check out www.wickermanburn.org for more information and event registration.

Hi!
I wanted to let everyone know about a new burn, and I am part of the planning team for it, so my opinion is biased!

The burn is "Wicker Man," to be held Thursday through Monday, Memorial Day weekend; and we have a setup weekend, the weekend before. We are trying to lay the groundwork that will grow into a full-on burn, with an amazing site, roads for art cars, a $4,000 art grant budget and plans for a stupendous effigy.

We will be using Four Quarters as our site, which has the rep as one of the most edgy and progressive non-profit camps on the east coast. They have given us their full support for Wicker Man. Four Quarters has a piped water system, hot showers, flush toilets and of course port-a-potties. Buried power lines for their bio-fueled camp generator, a covered stage and three swimming holes. Lots of camping under tall trees and out in the sun too. And 2 miles of gravelled roads. Four Quarters is located 100 miles west of DC and Baltimore, just off I-68.

We want to develop a burn that is art focused and will support big art. And one that has a vision of the future of burns that is sustainable, ecologically responsible and leaves behind a small foot print. Thus "Wicker Man;" the old celebration of the Green Man and Green energy. We already have over 20 theme camps and art projects registered, and we are just beginning our announcements. We plan to have three "Theme Towns." "Sound Town," where we can run sound all night long, like the Gaian MInd psytrance festival held at Four Quarters. "Sin City" down along the river, a cure for what ever ails you. And "Center Circle," a place for nature and spirit; held inside the amazing stone circle at Four Quarters. (Yes, there is a circle of standing stones and they are BIG!)

And then there is the Man. Planned at 35 feet high our man stands on a round Temple to the Spirit of Fire, a big enough room that you can enter and place your own art and offerings to the burn. The roof of the temple is a deck upon which stands the Man, and people can stand too.. His belly is the Upper Temple, with room for just one person at a time. Each of his arms will hold a flaming fire pot, and we hope, will move as he burns. This is a huge project and we are looking to get as many people involved in his construction as possible. Ground breaking for the Man is Friday, May 9th, and then the next two weekends until he burns.

I could go on and on, but our web site is up, with the first design drawings for the Man, pictures of art grant projects and theme camps. We have a list serve / forum too. So visit the web site at wickermanburning.org for much more info.

Hi everyone!

I have great news! I have an aerial arts instructor from Arizona who is willing to travel here to teach a workshop on aerial arts. For those of you who do not know what aerial arts are, think circus stuff like trapeze, bungee dancing, aerial hoop, or (my dream) aerial silks. An aerial art is anything done up in the air.

We are still in the planning stages, but it will probably be sometime in September or October, and I am estimating it will be in the $150 range. Expensive, I know, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it is still cheaper than going to Chicago to take a workshop at the Aloft Loft (which I still plan on doing someday! lol)

Before I go too far in planning this, I need to know it will be supported. So if you are SURE you want to do this (i.e. you will definitely be there as long as the date does not conflict with a previously arranged engagement), please email me. I will then put you on an informational email list, and will send you a list of exercises to do on a pull-up bar, so that when the workshop comes, you have some strength developed to do the tricks. The instructor recommends putting the pullup bar in a doorway you pass by often, and everytime you go by it to do a pull up or two.

The instructor does not yet have a website for her Arizona classes, but here is her myspace page:

We got to light up and spit fire (QUITE illegally, I might add, as the fire laws in Japan are OMFGSTRICT) and I thought of you guys. They all have Pyrokinetika's website now and they've seen the videos. They are DULY impressed. I think I've improved a little bit here, but I cannot wait to be back with y'all and get some really creative juices flowing.
By the way, I am beginning training in Gymnastics with the goal of one day performing with Cirque de Soleil. This is 100% serious and I am really looking forward to getting back together with you guys so we can work out some CRAZY ass shit with fire spinning as well. If I do not hit the moon, I will land among the stars, but I have every intention of attending either theater school or even circus college with this goal in mind. Wish me Luck!

hi all, so gatherings are starting back up after our little 3 month hiatus.

here is the new format:

a two-hour pre-announced class: depending on the day, this will either go from 6-8pm or from 7:30-9:30. cost is $20. people are welcome to come (for free of course) during this time and just hang out. But during this time the class has first priority, so, for example, no lighting up if there is a class going on outside, etc.

post-class gathering: same as a regular kin gathering.

next gatherings:

friday, october 20: Intro to Fire from 7:30 - 9:30. There will be a lot of my students here, but not too many kin, since the date conflicts with a pagan gathering.

friday, november 3: Fire Poi Virgin Burn class from 6:00 - 8:00.

we may have another Intro to Fire class and gathering on nov 17th or 24th

friday, dec 8: class undecided. 6:00 - 8:00 likely Intro to Doumbek, OR Fire Hoop and Other Toys

I really enjoyed their home. The hiking in hocking hills was absoutly gorgeous. I would really like to thank Ken for bringing the rock climbing gear. The children had a blast climbing. I know that was a highlight of the the weekend for Dave and Laura they talked about it all the way home. The food was so humble and delicous. I felt as if we had made a small community in their home everyone helping with the cooking and watching of the children. The fire spinning was awesome in the evening. Everyone seems to be improving on their skills. It just keeps getting better and better every time I see all of you. Can't wait till we can do it again. Maybe everyone will come to our house and do the same in the summer and camp out in the back yard. If you can't tell I really enjoyed myself.

Fall Fires will be held October 6th, 7th, and 8th in Logan Ohio due to the generosity of Shelly and Dan Riggs.

Show up will be late Friday afternoon/evening. A caravan will be leaving Dayton Ohio if you wish to join us at 4 pm. There are no plans for this evening/night but sometimes the best things happen unplanned.

Saturday there will be a kind of show-n-tell. If you have a skill, item, or topic you wish to share with the rest of the group please contact me so I can either put together a schedule if there are many topics, and ensure that they are appropriate for the company and pass House Rules.

There will be a potluck Saturday night so please bring either something to fix or contribute monetarily to the main dish yet to be determined. Please inform me if you are vegetarian, meat eater, or if you have a special allergy/diet.

Saturday night will be burn night. Please bring your toys and either fuel or money to contribute to fuel if you can. The rules that apply to Pyrokinetika functions and presented by Clan of Pyros will be in effect (I call these House Rules). If you have any questions about these please contact me. There may be a couple of people celebrating birthdays coming this weekend so be prepared to sing Happy Birthday!!!

Sunday there might be some rock climbing but do not feel obligated to participate. This is also day of departure (bring kleenx!!)

FYI - The property is fairly rual. There are 2 dogs on the premise and there will be children around. Please plan accordingly. I would suggest comfortable clothing that can be layered as it can get cool/cold at night. There will be some indoor space available as the Riggs have an ample basement. I suggest bringing an airmattress and warm bedding as the nights can get chilly. There is plenty of room for tenting as well. I have a running joke of asking for people to donate toilet paper....lol. There will be a bonfire and a labrynth on a hill as well. (can we tell I love it at the Riggs's place?? LOL). We would love to have drumming as well so if you have musical instruments that would be ok.

I will need RSVPs no later than October 3rd so that I can plan accordingly. Please email me privately to havensward@gmail.com with Fall Fires in the subject line.

I look foward to seeing everyone there.

Blessings

It is a way to mix fire with family and friends and food and fun, showing off, sharing, with just a bit of spirituality thrown in. From personal experience, you CAN NOT go to the Riggs's home and not feel the Spirit in the land and all around you. Just not possible.

So I would like to know how many would be interested in going. It would be in Logan OH for a full weekend. Food contributions would be required (and maybe a roll of tp...lol). There will be some space to crash with the help of air mattresses but there is also space for tents. Or you can do a la Benji and just sleep out on the grass in a sleeping bag...lol.

That said, here is my review for Raquy and the Cavemen at the Starwood Festival:

Oh. My. God. I have never, in the 4 years of attendance, seen a band that ROCKED the main pavillion so hard!!!! There were 4 percussion players altogether, 2 of which doubled on guitar, Raquy herself switching to an Iranian violin on occasion. Even the tambourine player rocked out on that instrument as if it were a regular doumbek! They brought down the house so righteously that people stayed an BEGGED for an encore - indeed, they weren't about to leave until Raquy graced them with her presence one last time.

But the sweetest, most remarkable thing for me personally was seeing this beautiful waif of a woman show those bombastic, arrogant djembe cowboys how to REALLY hit a drum with true artistry, more authentically and professionally than they can ever hope to attempt in their wildest dreams.

If you have even the slightest interest in learning hand drumming, I would encourage you NOT to miss Raquy on August 12th and 13th. See for yourself why an entire audience of well-educated musicians did the Wayne's World bow of "I'm not worthy" to her on their knees at one of the largest festivals in the U.S.

If anyone wants a copy of the high resolution origional (uncropped, unless you need me to do that for ya) for printing you can get a copy from either Luna (I mailed a cd to her) or from me.

Flame on!
I've had talks with a couple of you some time ago about a little meet and greet, hello neighbor kinda fire shindig. Many of my weekends are filling up for this summer already with various activities. I'm sure the same is happening for you all as well so the reality of us actually compiling enough people together to do something of that sort is quickly dwindling.

Sooooooo,

Lets meet at Wildfire shall we? http://www.freedomthrufire.com/wildfire/
I'll be there with my poi partner Mike (ICoN) and we'll be in full swing by that time so it looks like it should turn out to be a weekend to remember. But wouldn't it be all that much more memorable if you were all there too?

So wadda ya say people of Pyrokinetika? Shall we dance???

Hey folks,

I have a possible performance opportunity for us, if anyone is willing and/or able. It won't pay very much, but would be a great way to get to perform together, get performance/choreography experience, etc.

It's still in the beginning stages, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone is interested....

The school my husband teaches at would like spinners and breathers for entertainment at their prom. The theme is medieval, and it's on Saturday night, May 6th, 7-9 for the performers. Dan's students approached him about the fire arts. Their budget is small, unfortunately, but they *will* pay *something,* and include dinner in the bargain (their dinners are always really good there!). The advisor is crunching numbers to see what they can come up with in the way of money. Of course, the other hurdle is getting permission to have fire at all, which they will have to run past their superintendent. I do know that Logan (my school) has fire batons at the last few football games (ya'll remember THOSE posts, don't you?), and it seems that in this area it's not such a big brouhaha as it is in the city. Having insurance would probably be a good idea -- dunno who is able to/would want to get it, but that's one of the thoughts that crosses my mind. I've been considering getting it in April, even if I never perform, to cover my tush in case of an accident at a bonfire or wherever.

AND, we could all come back to the Riggs house afterwards for more play and frolic and fun (and cordials <evil grin>)! Ya'll could make a weekend of it. We've got lots of room, and love to have company.

Neither Dan nor I breathe fire, but we both eat a little. Of course I could spin staff, and by that time maybe poi, but I don't know that I can put together a performance by my little lonesome. :-( It would be cool to have some of you amazing spinners there! :-D

So, what do you think? Shannon, that's right around Beltane, which is when you talked about doing a Spring Fires here. *innocent blink* TeeHee!

I'll miss ya'll this weekend. My truck has not been fixed yet, AND Dan has an all day conference in Columbus tomorrow, AND if we get a ton of snow down this way, travel would be difficult. Be safe, have fun.

In fire and friendship,
Shelly

Hola, Kin!

Soul Fire Tribe (In case you're like, "who?" you met two of us, Lara n' me, Pan, at Benji's wand workshop) have a two day gig on March 17th and 18th. It's at a farm three or four miles north of Yellow Sprngs called, "Brother Bear." It's owned by Pat n' Mindi and they roast Brother Bear's coffee, which they sell all over. So, they have this huge metal barn that they roast the coffee in that also has this HUGE dance floor, a band set up and maybe a hundred black lights; they have dance parties there all the time and bon fires in the warmer months. Here's a recent letter that Lara sent to me:

Pan,
here's the info i have so far about brother bears st paddy's day
extravaganza: it is going to be a two night event with bands in two barns -
they're going to get the back barn fixed up to have two music areas. they
want us to spin as entertainers (ie do not have to buy the $10 - $15 tix).
I asked if we could invite pyrokinetica too and she said YES! we are going
to use the big concrete area between the barns which we can set up according
to our safety requirements. since it's a local public event and they're
selling tix we have to use all safety precautions. the bands include but
not limited to: captain jammers, the maji, boombox, skeleton crew - mostly
jam band type stuff and then there's boombox (both nights)! it's not an
overnight though, people have to go home. let's extend the invite to
erica's group and see if we can get a head count of fire performers and what
night or both they can make it. hopefully erica won't schedule her workshop
that weekend!

yeah! we'll have to have a meeting with boombox and the production mngr,
crazylegs to go over what we need for safety and set up sometime soon.

whaddyou think?
Lara

More from Pan:
Boombox is definately the main musical act, they're not local, we often spin to their music during our performances, check 'em out on the net, they're pretty cool.
So, anyway, if you would like to come play with us on either that Friday or Saturday, we'd love to host you!!! While I personally can only come Friday (our coven's Ostara is that Saturday), you're most welcome either or both nights!
Just drop me an email n' I'll send you directions, 'k?

I managed to get my little self to the Tractor Supply Co. and buy the tubing, cutters, and connectors that hooping.org talks about to make your own hoop. I'm making one today -- I'll let you know how it goes. It wasn't too expensive, AND it looks easy. I'll just have to buy some tape to make it look groovy...

I was in town last week and brought home a collapsable hoop. My mom really took to it, and I would love to open her to this art. So in looking for any hooping classes for her(because I think she needs people to hoop with and learn from or she'll get discouraged), I found this site. Amazing! I can't wait to come home next and get together with some of you fire folk in D-town.

is anyone interested in playing with these at a kin gathering?? maybe we can mix the fuel up at one gathering (ive got a lot of empty coleman fuel cans that should work) and light them up at the next gathering. any opinions?

its recommended to have a different set of wicks for each color (best are the hybrid wicks from bearclaw). would anyone be interested in buying their own set? they are $39 here: http://www.bearclawmfg.com/b_poi.html . also is anyone interested in other colors?

also i would like everyones inputs on the following changes that i am considering.

first, it seems like the general consensus for the "when" of kin gatherings is that a little earlier would be better. so i am considering moving kin gathering start time to 5 pm (as opposed to 6pm). how does everyone feel about this? good or no?

also, it seems to me that pyrokinetika "academy of the fire arts" has evolved as our members (myself included) have all grown as fire performers and gotten much better. this is a GOOD thing! however, since kin gatherings are now based less on traditional teaching, and more on individual growth, i feel that it is harder for "new" people to join in. in other words, since we are not doing much in the way of "lessons" at the gatherings anymore, because the "old" members have evolved past that, the "new" people dont have a good opportunity to learn the basic building blocks of fire arts. for this reason, i am considering starting actual "lessons" the hour before the kin gathering starts. the lessons will be somewhere about $30 for a set of four, or $10 for a drop-in. (as always, bartering of services is also accepted) KIN GATHERINGS WILL REMAIN FREE. what does everyone think? is anyone interested in the lessons? is the price too high?

also, as always, i love suggestions for improvement. so let me know if you have any ideas!

<i> Ok everybody!
Looks like Saturday the 28th at 6pm... I will be bringing supplies for building wands, cost is $10 per person and you leave with a pair of wands. These typicall sell for $15, so at a $5 discount you're getting your own pair plus the knowledge of how to re-wick them yourself. I had also mentioned teaching how to build other props, staff, poi, whatever for an additional cost... Say $40 for poi or staff and you leave with a set you've built.
What I'm looking for now is a roll call... It would be very beneficial to me to know how many people are attending this workshop as I will be burning at least $30 in gas just to travel there and back and that's not factoring the time I've taken off of my job with Red Bull and my cost for raw materials. I would like to know that at least enough people are coming for me to break even on this. Please respond to this post to let me know you'll be there, and if anyone is interested in paying to learn to make the bigger props let me know about that too.
Thank you all very much and I can't wait to see you in about 10 days!
