There are 77 Pyronauts originating from 19 U.S. states and 23 countries worldwide and every Pyronaut is at the top of their art form. Some Pyronauts perform with Cirque du Soleil and others have won the HomeOfPoi.com "Circles of Light" international video competition. Pyronauts also feature one of the world's top Sword Swallowers and top Hula Hoopers who hold 2 world records each!
PYRONAUTS CAMP is a magical environment with an extraordinarily skilled camp population dedicated to the progression of various dynamic art-forms including Poi, Staff, and Hula-Hoop just to name a few. Pyronauts Camp is a destination for Black Rock Citizens to dance, socialize, attend workshops, and it will be a centralized convergence point where fire dancers, spinners and movement artists can share and learn in order to propel the fire and flow-arts forward. Pyronauts Camp is a hot spot for anyone interested in these rapidly expanding forms of dance and movement and we also host some of the most epic fire jams of all time!
The entire BRC population is encouraged to experience, participate and interact with Pyronauts Camp and the Pyronauts themselves. Whether you're learning, teaching, sharing or just observing, we welcome anyone and everyone interested in being part of the abundance of advancement in the flow-arts that occurs when a convergence of this magnitude transpires.
Everyone was a beginner at some point in their development and we've found that you can often learn just as much from teaching as you can from being taught. Pyronauts Camp will offer many interactive workshops in the various disciplines of the fire and flow-arts. We will host both organized and spontaneous sessions and spin jams during the day, and amazing fire jams at night which attract some of the largest audiences anywhere on the Playa!
