Chinese Visa in Bankok
Thu Apr 3, 2008 9:45 pm (PDT)
Hi everybody we've just left Bankok where we got a two month visa to
china.
Travel agencies doing visa services around Kao San Rd would only give a
month, but we went to the embassy and there was a guy on the steps who
did everything for us really quickly... we got a 60 day visa in 4 working
days, for 1500 Baht (30 Euro/ US$50)
It was really quick... no waiting in lines, and all went fine! Now we're on
our way north
Happy travels everyone,
love

An Open Invitation to All,
The seventh World Rainbow Gathering is being held in China
~Seed Camp is starting now~
Gathering from New Moon 6th of May to New Moon 3rd of June 2008
Full Moon 20th of May 2008
After a joyous time scouting, we are inviting the family home, to a
beautiful site in the South-East of China.
The place is a gift on Earth, between two clear, sweet rivers on a
magic carpet of soft grass and magnificent jungle scenery. We have an
abundance of shade and dry wood, with fruit trees everywhere.
Come dance amongst the flowers and butterflies, walk respectfully on
the Earth and live in unity, harmony and peace.
Please respect that Rainbow is a non-political gathering, without
alcohol, drugs, or electronic devices.
Bring with you all that you might need for camping, your own bowl, cup
and spoon, protection from the sun and a water container.
Bring organic food to share, useful tools such as axe, saw, shovels,
large cooking equipment.
Bring your musical instruments and the songs in your heart, fire toys
and juggling balls, yoga mat, and feathers.
Bring your natural medicines, healing objects and massage oils.
Come with your children, your family, your friends
Please respect the nature by leaving your dogs at home, as well as not
bringing alcohol, drugs and electronic equipment. Rainbow is
non-commercial. Bring things to share and to trade; not to sell.
Bring some energy for the magic hat.
Remember that we are a family; we all work together. Share your energy,
take out all your rubbish with you, and some for the family too. Tread
gently on the Earth and leave the site as we found it.

Hello family,
After more than two weeks in Sanya, yesterday I had to come to Hong
Kong (vissa issues)
The easiest (not the cheapest) way to get from Hong Kong (or Shenzhen)
to Sanya would be flying. I dont really know much about it, because is
not my option.
Then there is hitch hiking, train or bus. Hitch hiking is not very easy
in Guangdon province, because of the number of million ppl size chinese
cities on the way and the highways going all the directions.
To go by train first you hve to get to Guangzhou. From Shenzhen to
Guangzhou there is fast trains, takes 1 hour and costs 70rmb. Then from
Guangzhou you can take a direct train all the way to Sanya. There is
only a few of them per day (one Im sure is ~21:30), it takes about 15
hours, costs 208 for a seat and a double that for a sleeper.
Then there is buses going all over the place if you can find them
You can take bus from Shenzhen to Haikou (or even to Sanya). To Haikou
it would cost 180-250rmb and another 75rmb from Haikou to Sanya. The
problem with the buses might be that you need to find the right station
in Shenzhen. It might be Ok as it seams the chinese people speaks some
sort of eanglish in Shenzhen (at least close to the HK border).
To get to Shenzhen from HK is easy. There is trains from central HK
(east tsim sha tsui station) to the border for 36.5HK dollars. Then you
just need to cross the immigration yourself and you end up right in
front of Shenzhen train station
Im in Hong Kong today and tomorrow so if any of you are right here
now, then we can meet and I can explain how to get to Sanya and the
gathering site. I will be in Macau on Saturday and Sunday, then on
Monday heading back to Sanya myself ;))
Welcome Home ;)
