Randa dvds? Best?

Hi everybody,

I am a biiiig Randa fan.
So far I own the Brazilian Festival dvd Selma from Germany has uploaded to youtube (Nuria posted the links here some time ago).
I recently ordered a Randa performance dvd from a Norwegian dance school. Am eagerly waiting for it.
Then there's this Australian dvd:

Do you guys have any other recommendations?
I LOVE the Brazilian performances. The Norwegian ones I will let you know :)
I'm thinking about getting the Australian one right now.

What is BEST Randa Kamel DVD to buy?

Ladies, can you please all give me your personal
opinions on what the best Randa DVD is to buy?

I want to order one, but am not interesting in the kind
where the star only dances like once or twice and it is
mostly filled with misc. hafla dancers or a local band
like with the Dina DVD's.

Would one of her workshops be better since you
are actually getting tips and instruction from Randa like
a class?

Randa Youtibes coming to a computer near you!

I *finally* saw Randa on the Nile Maxim and I took videos of her performances, and she was what I was waiting for my whole time in Egypt!!! A professional Egyptian dancer who actually cares about her dance and musical interpetation!!! She was a breath of fresh air amongst other dancers that were disappointing to say the least. When I get back into the states, I'll post them to youtube with proper internet, yay!!!!!

Randa's workshops in Dallas were awesome. She did a wonderful job presenting new Egyptian style technique . It's always a treat to watch her dance. Dina did a great job too!

I was really impressed with Randa though. She is doing a great job learning English and teaching. She's very dedicated to the dance and her students. She's a great inspiration! Thank you Randa.

She does look different there and dances differently as well. But you see her passion and interpretative skills. I really like her only the costume I don't like a bit (I guess she is supposed to look as if she was naked).

Randa in Helsinki - Amazing!

Randa Kamel made her first visit to Finland last week. I was happy to see performance on Fri, 15th September in Helsinki. She was absolutely s-t-u-n-n-i-ng!!! I found my idol no 1 in the world of bellydancers... Randa also held a couple of workshops in Helsinki. However, this time I didn't dare to enrol to her workshops since the level was unfortunately bit too advanced for my current skills... Hope that Randa will make another visit to Finland or Stockholm, Sweden in the future so I could either see her show of participate her workshop. Does anyone know if Randa's coming to Scandinavia in the future?

Randa in Dallas. I had a blast!!!

Randa is a lovely dancer and a superb teacher. During the workshops she took her time with us and answered every question clearly. Her style is comlpetely unique and even though she may have been influenced by Dina when she started out, I can no longer see Dina's style in her choreographies. She is VERY unique with a hint of Raqia Hassan. Her workshops were not at all easy but they were so much fun and informative. As we struggled with the steps she told us that she had a hard time at first but did not give up, she continued to practice. She told us to "train, train, train" about a billion times. I can see how far she has come and she inspires me to train harder than I did before.

Anyone Going to see Randa at Ahlan Cairo Nights? (x-post)

Hey ladies!

I'm planning to go to the Ahlan Cairo Nights workshops in Dallas August 3-5 -- Randa, Mona el Said, and Dr. Mo Gedawi are teaching three days of workshops and there are performances in the evening. (Tamra Henna, Kadija and Maja are also teaching, but I'll admit...I'm basically going for Mona, Randa, and Gedawi).

Anyway, I'd initially planned to go with a friend (and possibly another) but the initial person's plans have fallen through, so I thought I'd see if anyone was going and interested in splitting a hotel room. (I already have a reservation for a double room Thursday - Sat...and I'm probably going to extend that through Sunday night b/c my flight doesn't leave until Monday morning.)

Anyhow, if you're going or interested, PM me. :-)

Randa at AWS 2006

I am actually still in Egypt and its expensive to me online so I will keep this brief. I just want to share my experience at the 2006 Ahlan wa Sahlan festival concering Randa Kamel. I attending her master class with was awesome. I watched both of her performances at opening and closing. She was just flawless. Out of all of the workshops I took she showed some of the most professionalism and organization. She presented an appropriate choreagraphy that was challenging yet manageable for the three hour class. She remained professional during the breaks, no "10 minute" egyptian breaks that last 30 minutes. I can give details when I get back come and I will upload the pics I took of her closing performance.

Have you seen Randa perfome live? For me it was breath taking....It was powerfull and elegant. I just came back from Cairo. I was there for 3 weeks and my best memories from that trip is Randa´s perfomance at Marriott hotel. And a class with her was also very good and usefull. Please feel free to share your thoughts :)
