Re: Favorite Rania dance
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 7:00 AMI'll start. :)
Although it was SO exciting seeing Rania perform in person, I think my all-time favorite Rania dance is the performance at the end of Hip-Hop Hip Drop (I think) where she has the gold Wings of Isis. That dance is just so enchanting and gorgeous! Her isolations are so precise and I love the way the light catches the wings. Her demeanor expresses the music beautifully. This was the first dance I saw her in and I remember being SO IMPRESSED by it when I first saw it. I still get goosebumps! -

Re: Favorite Rania dance
Fri, March 28, 2008 - 1:05 PMOK I have to say that when I meet Rania I had no clue who she really was, I was kind of newer to belly dance. BUT when I saw her come out and start dancing I was blown away. She did a dance with a veil and the way she moved was amazing. I can't remember the music or much else about the dance, but the passion in her eyes and the energy about her. I love to photograph belly dancers with that kind of passion. Just ask Magdalene, I love the passion she has in her dance as well.

Re: Favorite Rania dance
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 11:40 AMAh yes! I love that one, too. The song is on the CD included with her book, "Bellydancing for Fitness". She explained to us that the song was about a man who'd lost his love and asks "wave your handkerchif" to acknowledge him in his sadness. Very lovely - she is so muscular and snakelike in her isolations! So fluid in her veil work!
