I was at a dinner/auction/silent auction on Saturday for the American Lung Association and was a bit disturbed by what was said and applauded by the sheople(Was serving, not attending the affair).
The head person is giving the rah-rah speech, but throws in a part to have laws passed by 2010 for a nationwide ban
on smoking in public places by 2010, then...goes on to say that their goal is
"to have cigarettes eliminated by the year 2025, so the next generation doesn't, even know what cigarettes are."
Granted, I do not think that smoking is the best of things, but I don't buy into all the "evils" that are blamed on smoking either.
If these people had a chance..they'd proclaim that the heat of the cigarettes was causing global warming.
I got a bit peeved and went outside to...smoke a cigarette.
They may not realize the truth of it all, but..smoking saves people from having their ass kicked, on a daily basis, from people tired of those who would remove all the pleasures of life.
Smoking does protect lives.....the a-holes of the worlds lives.
:-)
Yes, I went back in and served with a smile.
Funny how the person giving the speech is so anti cigarettes, but had no problem offering me a drink of alcohol, while I was working and "wouldn't tell on me"(I said no).
I guess alcohol and ass is okay, but alcohol and ash isn't.
