yes I know that they were ugly as sin and all, but frankly I find them interesting. I suspect its because they predate my time in the sca and honestly photos of them seem to be scarce. So my question is this: does anybody have any photos of really old sca helms , that they are not too embarrassed to share?

Sweet Geez! I would love to see pictures of this myself. When I joined the SCA back in 1988, I saw a few of these and people were trying to phase them out even then.
