Anyone know of a good source for finding a Roman or Greek style horsehair crest for SCA use? Most of the commercially available helmets with plumes would not work for SCA fighting. They would need to be flush to the helmet, and solidly attached.

Wed, June 11, 2008 - 6:55 PMI don't know if Katy the Shrew still does leather work but she made really good crests. The had holes at the front and back to tie them on and then had a Velcro strip running along the bottom to attached to the helmet. I saw several of these including the one I used to have take direct blows and stay put.
