well, my 18yr old daughter is going to fly out to NY NY on Christmas night and spend new years eve there in time square. I send her with my blessing. And I am super jealous...lol
She has friends out there and so do I if she gets into any trouble.

We are not having Family Day (T-day to those who celebrate) at our house this year! Yeay! We are free from a lot of commitment. All we have to do is show up at in-laws house with the kids...oh, and several bottles of wine, of course.

My family as I say cancelled the holidays until further notice. I'll go about the day as any other, maybe roast a small chicken for dinner. No plans and no invites just yet.

If my local hill is open I'll be up snowboarding and if this keeps up they'll be opening the lifts November 10th again! Woke up to snow falling outside today but it has turned into a very cold rain this afternoon. Bet it is still snowing 4,000 feet above me on top of the hill, though!

I do feel sorry for the local kids around here. Halloween looks to be another wet cold trick or treat night like it was last year. Unless it keeps snowing of course. Then it pretty much gets cancelled.

Other than maybe getting to go ride early season, not a thing planned. Too far/too expensive to go visit family since the closest is about 700 miles south and the distance gets farther away with others. We're all too broke to travel I guess. No real big gatherings anymore since all the "olders" are gone. Big sigh. I do miss those family gatherings of my youth and both of my grannie's amazing cooking but everybody is dead now. Strange being the "oldest" in what's left of the family.

My neighbors around the corner might invite me over for dinner if they don't have kids and grandkids coming from out on the coast. That happened last year. Dana is a wonderful cook.

I've cooked for the homeless for the last five years. I don't officially do Thanksgiving (nor 4th of July) due to Indians being still so screwed by this country. I cook for the homeless @ Christmas, too - no prob., being a Heeb.
I'd like to recommend those of us who have more than the basics put some out there this year instead of staying home or going to somebody's place for gut-busting meals and/or "exquisite treats".
It could make a better day. It could make a better planet. It could make a better Y O U .
