Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 10:02 AMI'm too tolerant. I put up with too much BS! Probably because I dance and exercise and this makes everything seem OK when in reality, nothing's been fixed.

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 11:10 AMViolence. Violence of any kind - physical, verbal, emotional - but especially physical. Once it goes there, I'm done. That person/people/entity can go to hell for all I care, and I will either kill it before it can kill me if I feel immediately threatened, or run the other way if I think I can escape.
I have no tolerance for violence. -

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 11:22 AMI have difficultuy having tolerance for violence or defamation or picky rudeness.
When the weather gets better and my cold better I will likely leave tribe more and find joy in biking.. BRR now.)
(for anyone following my words/actions in CR that is what it is about.. it's about getting that tribe back to having an active mod who does nto allow defamation or attacks.)

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 12:26 PMI don't see how this can be properly answered, ( Trance, tolerant of what ? ), "Break", buy not remaining silent, show your un-acceptance of the situation, respond in kind ( fight fire with fire), lose control ?
Tolerance", and Limits " are both subjective, and thus vary by situation. If we were given a hypothetical, might prove for more insightful. -

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 1:09 PMActually, I have a pretty high tolerance! Reciprocating for the fact that I can be a pretty annoying MF!
OTOH: points of explosiveness arise from Pretards in SUVs on cell phones turning into me as I pedesterate my way across the street! Should always carry a rock in my kilt to smash through their fucking window!
TV annoys me. I ritually killed mine years ago!
Most politicians should be crucified upside down.
Marketing executives who feed the shit to the masses and bring in way too much cash!
Poorly written carpel tunnel ware.
Phuquemall and kill them slowly -inspired by too many B movies-! -

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 1:43 PMCertain drugs just put me to sleep. But I guess socially is what we are talking about. AHH, I started a thread just recently about the Holocaust & the Nakhbah--no one tolerated that so WTF. I guess its too raw of a subject--seemingly preserved in black & white...so then why should it be brought up again. bl ah blah
I can't tolerate the name william which is the most popular name chosen for male infants in KY right now. Stupid as my own=SCOTT... too many people named this, and I ain't religious connected as the Sikhs are with Singh all in their name as the rest in their crowd. I mean William, Scott, Bob, James Johm are all so bland, not to say white, well yes to say white & cultureless.

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 2:08 PMI'm quite tolerant on many things, but not on others. When it comes to some people disrespecting others right to live, I fly off the handle. I'm militant and rather abrasive. Things like racism and the rights of ones ability to use our god given right of free will. But only because I'm very tolerant of others rights and beliefs. I believe that acceptance and understanding are two different things. Many people intermingle them. You don't have to accept what people do or believe in to understand it. -

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 3:13 PMAhh...you just reminded me....
I have really no tolerance for the notion that government is a good thing.
And no tolerance for the notion that organized religion serves a good purpose.
Because...I think these two do more to contribute to violence and oppression than anything else ever has or ever will. In short, these are the two most violent agents in human history. No tolerance for them at all. -

Re: tolerance
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 6:54 PMI'm a bit like D^3...tolerant of some things, and not at all of others. Rudeness, people on cell phones driving into you, people joyriding because they don't FEEL like stopping for pedestrians, and folks who don't practice basic protocol I am less tolerant of. By basic protocol, I'm taking mindfulness of behavior simply so we can live safely among one another. The way kids are allowed to behave today, it's not possible.
(I had a nice exception tonight, as one of our tourists had the cutest little 15 mo. old enchanting my co-worker and me.) But tolerance of who people are - be it color, culture, creed, etc.- no problemo. I think we all need to understand that accepting that others are different from us doesn't mean we need to be like them, or vice versa. -

Re: tolerance
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 9:40 AMwell I dont want to tolerate cellphone using when driving.. but it's all around me.. everywhere! People turn into traffic using their cellphones and not looking!
I choose to LOOK! I also choose to nto hit them just because I ammad.
I prefer life and no auto insurance problems!
Behavior in kids varies so much. as a substitute teacher I see lots of good and bad. During class in a middle school class in a tough school a student stopped me and said " you dropped this." I looked and it was the dollars which had been in my posket of my jacket fromthe night before when I had planned to buy pop after cycling. I had been so shaken up by a few kids razing me I hadn't noticed my slipping my hand in an d out of the pocket, not the money dropping! -

Re: tolerance
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 11:20 AMNo tolerance for drivers who act like bicyclists and pedestrians are lesser beings worthy of being honked at, cut off, or having shit tossed out the window at. Ugh. Someone please take these people's drivers licenses away! -

Re: tolerance
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 2:51 PMtolerance... I have none now... what is left of my life is so short I don't want to waste it on being tolerant of ineptitude people... I almost enjoy chewing out those that fumble through life... I care not if they are professionals or laborers... Friends or Foes... If their actions impact on me in a negative way I will let them have it...
God what an Ass I have turned into.... -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 11:39 AMYes! Temper tantrums are highly...releasing...therapeutic...cathartic. So long as I do them in private, or around people who know I'm just doing my thing...emotional energywork...catharsis...it works.
But tantrums unleashed on someone in the way that people with personality disorders do it? Yeah...that can sometimes be intolerable. -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 3:02 AMNot my point of view, but definitely great lyrics.....
No Compassion
- Talking Heads
In a world
Where people have problems
In this world
Where decisions are a way of life
Other people's problems they overwhelm my mind
They say compassion is a virtue, but I don't have the time
So many people...have their problems
I'm not interested...in their problems
I guess I've...experienced some problems
But now I've...made some decisions
Takes a lot of time to push away the nonsense
Take my compassion...push it as far as it goes
My interest level's dropping, my interest level is dropping
I've heard all I want to, and I don't want to hear any more
What are you, in love with your problems?
I think you've taken it...a little too far
Its not so cool to have so many problems
But don't expect me to explain your indecision
Go talk to your analyst, isn't that what they're paid for?
You walk, you talk...you still function like you used to
Its not a question...of your personality or style
Be a little more selfish, it might do you some good -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 4:24 AMI programmed my head long ago with this line:
"I feel with loving compassion the problems of others without getting caught up emotionally in their predicaments that are offering them messages they need for their growth. " -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 6:35 AMI despise cigarettes... I'll sit w/a friend smoking for a minute, but then I'll tell them, leave that shit outside... I don't want it around me. Plus folks eating pharmaseuticals. Its bullshit, & it ain't I-tal, in the Rasta sense of attaining purity. Herb within reason, I tolerate--I see what can be creative nor debilitating in its use. It can be argued destructiveness is creative--because it crreates new albeit convenient ways to identify yourself in the human condition. I say, get over it. Your a shapeless mass & a book of rules, so quite ignoring the book (lower case "b."). That we have inertia is a beautiful thing, its called Tamas in Hinduism, part of the cosmological gunas...which is a co-existing aspect of the soul's forebearance, either mutually arising in a state of purity before human consciousness, or in the mixed up mind of you along w/Intellect/sattas & passion/rajas!!! So, when we disturb the animal power of our sentient trajectory, we can't then any longer jump down from ego's great heights & mitigate hope by saying a path is manifest. Truth seems to be a pathless land (KRIshnamurti, here), but we have the abysmal jump into facing life's sorrow...had we looked, and this DOES give direction, gives us a reason to thrive in the human condition. I say tolerate the boredom, be patient--and a solvent life would be attained. -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 7:06 AMi can tolerate tolerance--only cause i like to laugh--lets see how screwed around this gets--have a tolerable day--boy that sure has a weird feeling to it--more honest than that--have a great day they give you at the counter--which usually has the hidden message behind it.,i hope you fall on your face before you hit the door--have a great day~~ -

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 7:17 AMThe standard local ( rural blue ridge mtn virginia) reply to the question "how are you doing?" is "tolerable" or "tolerable well" and folks say " a right tolerable amount" meaning, for some reason, a good bit. It is pronounced "tolable" and the word gets a lot of use.
I can't really tolerate smoke either. Being tolerant does not mean that one puts up with all behavior and not say anything. At least it certainly does not mean that to me. Common sense, and the golden rule should be rules of thumb in my opinion.

Re: tolerance
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 11:12 PMDepends on how I feel at the time. I'm working on smiling more and breaking less to defuse the situation. It does work, but only if I remember to smile. -
