Re: Loan Question
Wed, July 21, 2004 - 9:23 AMyoull want to make a list of everyone you know... friends, family... your hair dresser, real estate agent, insurance agent, dentist, your child's teacer, florist etc... this is called your sphere of influence. send a little note (hand written if possible, its more personal) to let them know how excited you are about your new business. let them know that the greatest compliment and motivator they can give you is their referral... then keep following up - with phone calls and notes, post cards to remind them you are in the business... the most important thing is to TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOE... and REMIND THEM.
all of us in the business have had friends and family that tell us, oh, i just bought a house, i forgot that you were in the business, or my favorite... i thought you were too busy...
good luck with your new venture... stick to it, the first year is tough, but you'll make it!!

Amen to referrals... see www.BrianBuffini.com ,it's great for referral systems. I'm a big believer in circle of influence - key realtors, CPA's, attorneys.
Let me know when you come up with files you can't do, e.g. 100% Non-Owner/Rental, or 540 fulldoc 100% purchase, etc. - or CA files.
Good luck!

Re: Loan Question
Sat, October 9, 2004 - 1:59 PMHi! I'm also a new mortgage originator. Been at it about a month and a half. I was wondering what you think of this scenario...
What if I were to contact FSBO's and give them my card, asking them to share it with their potential buyers?
My coworkers think FSBO sellers are pains in the ass. Is this true? Is it anarea I should avoid, or a niche I can capitalize on?

Re: Loan Question
Sun, April 30, 2006 - 6:22 PMHi Sandy,
Good Luck on your new endeavor! I like your phrasing of 'hit the ground running'. :)
I am a Signing Agent in NW Iowa also covering SE South Dakota. If you get any loans up this way I can help you out with the local paperwork with the borrowers. I have a customer base of over 100 title and escrow companies and some signing services. Been Certified and Signing for a little over two years. If you want competent reliable assistance you can recommend me to handle the signing end. Don't prefer to go through Signing Services they simply give me borrower info, title contact info and drop out of the picture so no sense in giving them a piece of the pie. Let me know if I can help. You can book my website into your favorites and always have my contact info and services close at hand at www.halitek.com
