You are not starving. You have benefits. Dental insurance, possibly. Maybe even a 401k. You are also a musician. And you rock. This is the tribe for you.

Or, none of the above. Let's discuss whether meaningful music can be made by those who have decided not to suffer for it. The two need not be correlated, as our culture so often tells us. Also, is it possible that musical innovation is more likely to occur when one is freed from the expectation that it will ever pay the bills?
