i have a confession to make.
i wish i could knit.
there are so many things i would love to make and just lack the know how and skillz.
would you, the awesome knitter that you are, be willing to make some things i have in my head but don't know how to make?
for example, i diaper my babe in cloth diapers, and would love to have some "longies" for her. if you scroll down on this blog, you will see some examples of what i am talking about although i am sure you already know!!

i have a few friends who have offered to teach me to knit, but i was also thinking that you could probably make a few dollars by teaching private lessons to people who are interested.
just a thought!!

Re: commissioned projects??
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 11:43 AMI love to teach people to knit. My favorite way is to have a "class" at someone's house that everybody pays a bit for and then we get comfy and knit stuff. Knitting scarves and hats is pretty simple and there's a lot of room for experimentation.
I crochet, but I don't actually technically KNOW how to crochet. I really do it however I want. I can show you how I make things, but I couldn't write out a pattern.
I like to do commissions, though....Like if you like the style of something but the fiber is not right for you or the color is wrong.
Those longies are cute. I used cloth diapers with my oldest but I didn't know how to knit yet.... -

Re: commissioned projects??
Fri, December 8, 2006 - 11:08 AMi have just learned how to knit recently, but the concept of how to bring in other colors baffles me. you just tie it in? then what about the knot in the middle of your weave? i could use some pointers, for sure. -

Fri, December 8, 2006 - 11:17 AMAND YOU LIVE NEAR ME !!!!!!!
WOOPY! Yeah. Lets knit together sometime. It is ever so simple to change colors, but ever so hard to describe in writing.
What have you knitted so far? Are you making mostly scarves? They are a really good thing to start with and it's also easy to move to hats from there. -

Fri, December 8, 2006 - 11:22 AMOHBOY!! i would love to come knit with you!
yep, workin on two scarves at the moment. on one i made the tail too wide and i feel like it's the scarf THAT WILL NEVER END. it's taking me forever. a zillion stitches per row. and it's a christmas gift for my bf, so i'm really nervous i won't get it done in time. the other is for my mom and it's slow going as well - the yarn/thread/whatever is not very stretchy, so it's kinda hard to get in there.
