Hello northern neighbors, Tom from PDX here.
I am trying to plan a trip to your lovely island around the time that the BRB'08 happens.
I heard it was around the same dates as last year. First weekend of april? 4th-6th?
Would this be correct? If so I must start brushing up on my polo skillz, huh?
p.s. any insider info on the Juan de fuca trail and associated beaches would be much appreciated.

heya thomas... and everyone else who's been wondering about this!
the 2008 victoria bike prom (aka bike riders ball) will NOT be the same dates as last year; instead, it will be held in APRIL, probably the first or second weekend. we're trying to get together a planning meeting for this upcoming week, so stay tuned for more info!

just realized that if it's the first weekend of april i might be in kamloops for rugby. :(

i haven't had a chance to hike much of it myself, just the first part from china beach to mystic beach. i'm sure there are people around who have, though.

I don't know if this would factor into your plans at all.....buuuuut there is a polo tournament "The Quick and the Dirty Polo Tourney" April 5th, 2008 in Seattle. I know last time I was in seattle for a polo tournament there were a few palyers from vic. Anyway I will check the blog and get folks excited here in pdx, which shouldn't be too hard. We all had a great time last year, from what I can remember? Well I remember a ferry ride...and then... -

Fri, February 22, 2008 - 3:47 PMwhoa! thanks for letting us know, thomas... i think triane was trying to figure out how we'd fit into the rest of the west coast bike event schedule, but i don't know if this polo tourney was mentioned!
looks like the 2nd weekend would be best. hmmmm... though, we might make it hard for out of town folks, if they need to get to seattle one weekend and then vic the next. well, we'll see. maybe we'll move the date back to may after all!
yes, last year's event was awesome. happy memories!
