Numerology

Individualizing the importance of numbers into a workable system that can be used to clarify issues in everyday life is called Numerology.
Like other occult sciences, Numerology draws upon ancient archetypal knowledge as a foundation to deciphering the puzzles of life. In contrast to other forms of occult study, Numerology takes no or few specialized books of diagrams and planetary movements or sacred tools in order to facilitate understanding. With basic computation skills, a pencil and paper and if need be a simple calculator, numbers offer a key to unlock some mysteries of self-discovery. This skill can be as simple as writing one’s name or as complicated as working a calculus problem. The choice is the seekers.
There are many numerological systems available today, some requiring little skill, others needing vast knowledge of math and metaphysics. Twenty years of research by my mother and twenty-five years of practical use by me are the basis of the system that is offered in this material. It is unique and in my biased opinion, a comprehensive system. This method strips the need for complication and offers a straightforward technique to understand the intricacies of a language that is used by the entire world, each and every day. Living a life based on Practickal Magick is not easy; thinking before one acts, being clear about intent and being genuinely caring. A simple tool, which aids in understanding, is helpful to that end.

SOME SIMPLE RULES

1. Any number added to nine equals itself. For instance, 5 + 9 = 14: 1 + 4 = 5 or 5 + 9 = 5. Sometimes it is valuable to understand the composite number (the blending of two numbers, the “14” above), but the value remains with the original number.
2. 11, 22, 33, 44 and 55 are Master Numbers and are used as whole numbers, not as composite numbers. Composite numbers are added to one another to find a primary number (a number between 1 and 9), but a Master Number stands alone.
3. To decipher composite numbers, first analyze each number individually; blend their value before adding them together to find the primary number. For instance, 14 = 1 (independent, self motivated) + 4 (hard physical work, solidity, tied to the home) = 5 (experientially based, sometimes scattered, dramatic). Blended together there is a more specific meaning than just “5”. The “5” created is independent, but is tied to the home, which can create clinging.

BIRTH NUMBERS

Birth Numbers indicate, similarly to astrology , a personal blueprint of one’s life. Birth Numbers are truly owned by the seeker since they are fixed factors. Name Numbers, on the other hand, are highly mutable since they can be changed on impulse, whether by marriage, by act of prowess or boredom.

Initially, add the month, day and year of a particular birth together.

MONTH + DAY + YEAR = BIRTHPATH NUMBER

February 9, 1956 = 5 BIRTHPATH
2 + 9 + 1 + 9 + 5 + 6 = 5 BIRTHPATH

Then, add the Sunsign Number to the Birthpath Number.

Birthpath Numbers

Birthpath Numbers indicate a person’s particular gifts and strengths and warn against possible damaging behavior traits. These numbers do not always indicate what one desires as a life path or mission.

1 Birthpath:
1 Birthpath people put their needs first. They tend to be pioneers, heads of political parties, trailblazers, labor organizers and heads of households. They do not take orders well, but dispense them liberally. They are excellent providers; they tend to be perfectionists and are sometimes fearless. They must guard against being overly critical of others, too selfish and conceited. They must learn to share, co-operate within a group format and they need to learn to finish projects as well as start them.

2 Birthpath:
2 Birthpath people work better as part of a team. They are, by nature, kind and generous. They are natural parents, caring and patient. They tend to become over-stimulated and fall into long periods of rest to compensate. They co-operate, but tend to be fixed more than flexible.

3 Birthpath:
3 Birthpath people are action oriented. They have the ability to manifest desire into real form. They are natural communicators and basic mental abilities like reading, writing and arithmetic come easily. Writers, mathematicians and engineers are often 3 Birthpaths.

4 Birthpath:
4 Birthpaths are traditionalists. Craving order and strong foundations, they are natural land and homeowners, attracted to the earth, farming and building. Conservative by nature, they are slow to respond, carefully weighing all options.

5 Birthpath:
5 Birthpaths must experience to learn. Naturally flamboyant and dramatic, they crave the spotlight and love attention. They love love for love’s sake and attach to it with wild abandon. 5 Birthpaths must guard against succumbing to scattered energy and suggestibility.

6 Birthpath:
6 Birthpath people are protective of self and family. They are naturally responsible, which make them wonderful caretakers and planners. They are easily moved by music and often make good musicians. They must guard against being too territorial and controlling.



7 Birthpath:
7 Birthpaths are perfectionists. They hold themselves to high standards and are often paralyzed out of fear of failing, choosing not to start something rather than fail. They are not afraid of being alone and make good scholars and researchers, monks and confessors; must guard against martyrdom and over-committing one’s energy.

8 Birthpath:
8 Birthpaths tend to reach for higher meanings in every thing; 8 rules success and failure, so 8 Birthpaths are driven towards both, sometimes sabotaging their efforts with too much steam. They are traditional and conservative, like 4’s, but have the ability to see the larger picture. They make good administrators, in secular and religious arenas.

9 Birthpath:
9 Birthpath people are natural teachers, mentors and guides. They crave being needed. They love to organize messes and other people’s lives and tend to meddle too much. They love to be heard, but often hold the student above the teacher; can be too selfless, if few 1s or 5s are present.

11 Birthpath:
11 Birthpaths love large groups of people and selfless acts. They love to organize people and movements for the sake of change. They make good communicators and arbitrators, but need to guard against being too self-important. Sometimes they are attracted to communication with the Spirit World and often have gifts of mediumship and prophecy.

22 Birthpath:
22 Birthpaths are natural executives. They are excellent managers, builders and engineers, both in the secular and religious worlds, often seeing no separation between the two. They can make powerful leaders, but must guard against being tyrannical.

33 Birthpath:
33 Birthpath people are natural healers. They are attracted to service and can accept the most extreme conditions for the sake of the ALL. They must guard against being too extreme and suggestible. Unfortunately, because they are so tuned-in to the needs and suffering of others, mental imbalance, drug and alcohol addiction and terrorism can be negative affects of a 33 Birthpath.

44 Birthpath:
44 Birthpath people are powerful in stature and substance. They work as guides for healers, especially with when death is close. They are natural Shamans and Witches and love the drama of the Life-Cycle. They must guard against being overly morbid and watch out for insanity.

55 Birthpath:
55 Birthpaths are mystical by nature. They tend to be loners, content with communing with the Divine on their own terms. Often they have the gift of prophecy and tend to live in their dreams, finding that the rich world of the subconscious is a preferable home to the corporal world. They must guard against shutting themselves off from humanity and thinking that only they know the way.

Sunsign Numbers

ARIES = 1. Catalytic spark, assertive, centered, single-minded.
TAURUS = 2. Conservative, penetrating, generous, knows intrinsic values of people and things.
GEMINI = 3. Communicators, free thinkers, extremely suggestible, difficulty taking firm stands.
CANCER = 4. Emotionally based, tied to the home, traditional, can be manipulative.
LEO = 5. Dramatic, experientially based, proud, sexual.
VIRGO = 6. Analytical, centered, hard working.
LIBRA = 7. Loves beauty and harmony, prefers balance but has difficulty making up one’s mind, artistic.
SCORPIO = 8. Complex mind, attracted to mystery, sensual.
SAGITTARIUS = 9. Loves being the teacher, philosophy, ending projects and organizing, but has trouble with procrastination.
CAPRICORN = 10. Ambitious, stubborn, must control one’s environment.
AQUARIUS = 11. Scientific, loves large groups and movements, can be aloof and seemingly cold.
PISCES = 12. Intuition based, dreamer, has a hard time being practical.

Destiny Numbers

Destiny Numbers often point to one’s truest desires as far as a life path is concerned. Unfortunately, this does not always correspond with one’s particular strengths or gifts, but does offer a direction where true happiness can be found.

1 Destiny:
“The Catalyst”. Loves finishing first, highly competitive, athletic, needs personal control over people and things in own environment.

2 Destiny:
“The Partner”. Works well with charities, dealing with large sums of money, personal power broker, real estate, and wonderful work-at-home parents.

3 Destiny:
“The Communicator”. A writer, speakers, media personalities, grade school teachers, coaches—physical and mental for adults as well as children.

4 Destiny:
“The Nurturer”. Homemakers, farmers, builders, designers, interior and landscape, empaths, counselors. Loves nature.
5 Destiny:
“The Ruler”. Loves to be in the spotlight, performers of any kind, professional entertainers, restaurateurs, innkeepers, attorneys and receptionists. Loves to travel.

6 Destiny:
“The Divine Parent”. Professional caretakers, nurses, counselors, guardians, teachers. Moved by literature and music, can be good musicians.

7 Destiny:
“The Perfectionist”. Idealist, likes to be alone, thinkers. Make good confessors and professional researchers and scholars.

8 Destiny:
“The Transformer”. Loves mysterious people, death and dying and challenges on all levels. Good doctors, surgeons, attorneys, clergy and sales, particularly real estate.

9 Destiny:
“The Light Bringer”. Professional organizers, teachers and guides. Loves mental activity of all kinds, good with animals and people of all ages.

11 Destiny:
“The Spirit Communicator”. Loves crowds and social activities. Intellectual pursuits, communication of all forms and teaching, all motivate these people. Scientists, political activists, psychic counselors, professional artists.

22 Destiny:
“The Divine Builder”. Loves anything grandiose. Natural engineers, executives, managers, high level power brokers, religious leaders.

33 Destiny:
“The Healer”. Amazing transforming powers that can heal, nourish and restore. Massage therapists, psychic healers, psychic advisors and counselors, relationship therapists and career counselors.

44 Destiny:
“The Shaman”. Has an innate power of psychic journeying. Make good grief counselors, undertakers, archeologists, Witches, professional clergy, trance mediums, long-term investment bankers, mortgage lenders and real estate developers.

55 Destiny:
“The Sage”. Most comfortable pontificating. Make good academics, professional scholars, inventors, high level athletic coaches, travel writers. Can have gifts of prophecy and thought transferal.



Pinnacles and Challenges

Pinnacles represent the strengths, rewards and high points of life. When unopposed by other significators, they can feel like gifts from the gods. Usually they represent one’s own natural survival skills and innate gifts of insight that help clarify issues or lessen the pain of normal life experience. Each Pinnacle represents an eighteen-year cycle.
Challenges represent the friction, difficulties and low points of life. They give insight where extra strength is needed to overcome obstacles. Challenges are not to be feared, but respected and dealt with; without friction in life, there would be little change, diminished reward and superficial stimulus. Each Challenge represents a twenty-four year cycle.
Initially, write down the month, day and year of a specific birth date, leaving plenty of room (about 3”) above and below.
To find the 1st Pinnacle, add the birth month and the birthday together and reduce it to a primary number, unless it is a Master Number. To find the 2nd Pinnacle, add the birthday and the birth year together. The 3rd Pinnacle is found by adding the 1st and 2nd Pinnacle together. The 4th Pinnacle is found by adding the birth month and the birth year together.
The 1st Challenge is found by subtracting the birth month from the birthday (or visa versa). The 2nd Challenge is found by subtracting the birth year from the birthday (or visa versa). To find the 3rd Challenge, subtract the 1st and 2nd Challenge from one another.

The reason for not reducing the month number is that a month number, like a Sunsign Number is not reduced to a primary number to figure the initial Challenge Number. Only after the first Challenge Number is found, a secondary Challenge can be figured by reducing the month number to a primary number. Consequently, there are two possibilities created when subtracting values. In the example above, when 6 is subtracted from 12 it equals 6. Then the month number 12 is reduced to a primary number by adding 1 + 2 = 3. When 3 is subtracted from 6 it equals 3. You might encounter the same possibility when the birthday number is a Master Number; a secondary 2nd Challenge is created that which in turns effects the 3rd Challenge.
Creating a secondary Challenge tends to illuminate the playing field, similarly to understanding a composite number. In the above example, the 1st Challenge is 6 & 3. The subject is challenged by a chronic lack of responsibility (signified by the 6), which is compounded by the inability to be a self-starter (signified by 1 in this placement). Being able to find additional numbers increases the ability to make a sensible interpretation for the subject.

Pinnacles

1 Pinnacle:
Finds comfort and freedom from being independent. Self motivated to achieve goals and is inspired by new opportunities. Works well alone. Accolades come for ingenuity.

2 Pinnacle:
Comfort is high; funds flow in. Partnerships are successful. Sensuality is welcomed and love is paramount.

3 Pinnacle:
The ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences is indicated. Dreams and desires manifest. Relationships with younger people and or siblings are highlighted.
When 12 is the composite number, be prepared to deal with large groups of
people as an expert, liaison or speaker. Old fears and karmic relationships
could be highlighted.

4 Pinnacle:
Peace in the home is a real possibility. Love of nature and animals figure prominently. Planning for future endeavors is successful. Renewed love of tradition is indicated.
When 13 is the composite number, be prepared to see a mystical side to
Everything, whether in your immediate environment or not. Synchronicity
is the rule, rather than the exception.

5 Pinnacle:
Exciting adventures, love affairs, travel; surplus energy and positive drama are indicated. A greater sense of mobility and ease of sexual expression enhance feeling free with the physical body. The five senses are heightened.




6 Pinnacle:
Heightened feelings of responsibility inspire the beginnings of new long-term relationships. Rewards are found by tackling problems that need solving or wounds that need healing. New job opportunities.
When 15 is the composite number, be willing to be flexible in your approach to
other people; be careful about being too possessive of people, material things
and ideas. Make sure that the attention you are receiving is positive, rather than
negative.

7 Pinnacle:
A sense of attainment is achieved. Happiness is found through scholarly pursuits and spiritual exploration. Solitude is a friend.

8 Pinnacle:
The battle between success and failure seems to wane and accomplishment is had. A personal relationship with the Divine is achieved or feels closer.

9 Pinnacle:
Happiness is found when the teacher has a willing student. The teacher urge is fulfilled and innate organizational skills are put to great use. A new philosophical outlook is reached.

11 Pinnacle:
Divine inspiration fills everyday life. Revelations abound and a new and usable psychic gift is activated. Spiritual success is fulfilled in a group setting. The communicator receives an audience.

22 Pinnacle:
One’s life plan becomes reality. Successful and rewarding retirement presents itself. Building and engineering skills are activated.

33 Pinnacle:
Self-healing is possible through introspection and psychic action. Desperation leaves and calm composure replaces it. Healing gifts are strengthened through use and service.

44 Pinnacle:
Death and dying are transformed into rebirth and discovery. Reward through inheritance. Old debts are paid and forgiveness abounds.

55 Pinnacle:
The Divine is heard and becomes teacher to the teacher. Prophecies are fulfilled.





Challenges

1 Challenge:
Fear of being alone. Sorrow or great loneliness is activated if Pinnacle does not balance cycle. Has difficulty motivating personal action. Low self-esteem.

2 Challenge:
Partnerships are broken or damaged. Financial loss.

3 Challenge:
Difficulty in communication; hard to find words, others have a hard time understanding. Relationships with siblings break down. Goals are stagnant.
When 12 is the composite number, be prepared for old friends and colleagues
to leave your life, either for a long time or a permanent separation.

4 Challenge:
Removed from nature. Feelings of suffocation. Loss of home or safety. Overworked.
When 13 is the composite number, feelings of spiritual and/or emotional
abandonment are not unusual. This can indicate a time to step back from normal
spiritual activities to review your commitment to the Divine.

5 Challenge:
Losses of passion, mobility, love. Has a tendency to scatter vital energy. Five senses are dulled. Scatter-brained—lack of focus.

6 Challenge:
Lacks sense of responsibility and feelings of connection with people and possessions in personal environment. Forced to be a caretaker under trying circumstances. Loss of health and financial opportunities.
When 15 is the composite number, do not be surprised by abusive behavior from
loved ones or parents. If you become the brunt of abusive behavior, try to
remove yourself from the situation as quickly as possible. In birth numbers, a 15
Challenge Number can signify parental sexual abuse.

7 Challenge:
Loss of personal control. Feelings of oppression and stagnation of mental abilities. Martyrdom.

8 Challenge:
Failure. Mood swings, depression and feelings of disconnection with the Divine.

9 Challenge:
Chaos rules. Loss of personal identity. Inability to complete projects. Procrastination.


11 Challenge:
Disconnection with one’s Higher Mind. Feelings of abandonment and loss. Muddled thoughts and nightmares.

22 Challenge:
Long range plans fizzle; retirement becomes illusive, major financial setbacks. Lack of safety, covert activities threatens life and home.

33 Challenge:
Drug and alcohol addictions become threats to health and livelihood. Psychic disconnection increases possibility of mental instability.

44 Challenge:
Personal loss of family or friends. Insanity and illusion threaten life.


Using Universal Years

The method of finding Birth Numbers, including Pinnacles and Challenges, can be used on a yearly basis to clarify the meanings of changing cycles. It is easy to do. First, add all the numbers together of a particular year to find the Universal Year. 1998 is a Universal 9 Year: 1 + 9 + 9 + 8 = 27 = 2 + 7 = 9. Then add the month number, to the day number, to the year number. Individual Birthpath and Destiny numbers have been figured for that particular year. Find the Pinnacles and Challenges according to the previous directions, but use the Universal Year, rather than a birth year. Instead of eighteen and twenty-four year cycles, 12-month cycles have been calculated. Pinnacles are divided into 3-month cycles while Challenges are divided into 4-month cycles.

One Universal Year:
Indicates the need for independence and individual thought. On a mass level, new inventions and discoveries are highlighted. The pioneering spirit is powerful and many people will want to abandon old ways of thinking and living for new adventures and frontiers.

Two Universal Year:
Indicates the need for increased self-esteem and heightened passions. On a global level, new monetary systems and ways of doing business are highlighted. A new sense of co-operation is needed. Peace talks and renewed allies play significant roles.

Three Universal Year:
Indicates the need to be heard and manifest one’s dreams. Universally, new styles of communication, fashion and education are important. Art is viewed as a tool of communication. New ideas are widely accepted through the written word and in the media.

Four Universal Year:
Indicates the need to be close to nature and the home. Universally, the need for hard physical work is paramount. Rebuilding habitat both in nature and for humankind is highlighted. Labor difficulties can block growth of global markets.


Five Universal Year:
Indicates the need to be in the spotlight. Globally, new forms of entertainment, toys and leisure activities are highlighted. Dramas in all forms abound, particularly involving sex. The rights of children are important.

Six Universal Year:
Indicates the need to be responsible for oneself and family. Publicly, new forms of health care are widespread. Parental rights are examined on the world stage. Negotiating skills are important in the workplace, to avoid labor strikes and unrest.

Seven Universal Year:
Indicates the need to redirect one’s mental activities and illuminate hidden talents. On a mass level, greater and more sophisticated educational standards are demanded. New ways of worshipping the Divine take the forefront. Old rules of devotion are discussed and guidelines for new approaches are made.

Eight Universal Year:
Indicates the need to succeed financially and to improve one’s relationship with the Divine. Globally, be prepared for upheavals and wild fluctualtions in the world market. New world leaders will make their presence felt, both secular and religious.

Nine Universal Year:
Indicates strong urges to complete projects and reorganize one’s environment. Universally, new teachers and spiritual leaders will surface; presenting new forms of thinking based on ancient traditions.

Eleven Universal Year:
Indicates the desire to form new religious alliances, so one’s true emotional and spiritual nature will unfold. On the global scene, new and improved oracle systems become popular. Large social movements get a foothold and move forward with their agendas.

Twenty-Two Universal Year:
Indicates the desire to start building one’s future stake or begin a retirement. Globally, recognized world leaders and power brokers gain in strength or are forced to step down. The global media magnify and distort the importance of strife, poverty and safety.

Thirty-Three Universal Year:
Indicates the need for healing old wounds and repairing broken communication lines with family and friends. Universally, breakthroughs with health care, disease cure and prevention and childcare figure prominently. Large-scale scandals involving drugs, alcohol and sexual abuse abound.



Forty-Four Universal Year:
Indicates the need to reclaim old traditions and customs, both individually and universally. New laws regarding inheritance, death rights and common medical practices (particularly surgical) figure prominently. Be on the alert for destructive or vengeful world leaders wielding unusual amounts of power.

Fifty-Five Universal Year:
Indicates the need to reinvent one’s life. Universally, world religious leaders get messianic control and power. New ways to enhance the abilities to control oneself and others abound. New frontiers open to the masses.


Anniversary Cycles

Since the month and day of a particular birthday are fixed values, a repeated 1st Pinnacle and 1st Challenge always happen. These are called Anniversary Cycles. Have you noticed that every year, regardless of your age and experience, around your birthday you experience the same emotions year after year? Let us explore the example given. For a February 9th birthday, a repeated 11 1st Pinnacle and a 7 1st Challenge is always present. Every year around my birthday (Feb.9) I feel particularly close to Spirit. I receive direct and animated messages, filling my prayer and meditation times with wonder, inspiration and hope for future endeavors. At the same time, I feel lacking in self-control and nothing I create is good enough to please me. I am happy with the journeys of my Higher Mind, but I am plagued with the lack of self-perfection in the practical world. I can set my inner clock by these emotions. When I loose sense of time, but feel particularly vulnerable about my artwork, I just say to myself “my birthday is right around the corner”.
Every nine years, the Universal Year is repeated, completing and beginning a new Universal Cycle. Consequently, every nine years each of us have an Anniversary Year. These years are filled with introspection and re-evaluation of one’s goals. We are given a special opportunity to break old behavior patterns and to reinvent our lives. To know consciously that an Anniversary Year is approaching, is to forewarn the Higher Mind to the dangers of repeating undesirable patterns. Humans have the amazing ability to change and adapt to new surroundings and goals. Make it work for you!

NAME NUMBERS

Unlike Birth Numbers, names are unpredictable values. An individual usually takes on many names throughout a lifetime. Usually, people do not plan ahead for taking on new names, at least consciously. Sometimes, new monikers amaze us, like being dubbed with a nickname, or choosing a pseudonym or alias. Life has its surprises. How many people would think by calling a small child “Sugar” that it would stick, literally. I do know a Sugar, who at 50 is still amazed that her relatives still refer to her by that name. Try as you might to ignore the custom of nicknaming, it is here to stay. For this and other reasons, a name does not truly become yours until it has been worn for quite sometime. I use five years as a good measure of time for a name to become a label that describes an individual and feels right to wear.
As seekers of spiritual enlightenment, I believe that we have the responsibility, when appropriate, to choose a name wisely. Each letter has a vibrational essence and strength all it’s own and when letters are added to other letters, their qualities blend, mute or are transformed. Even if a name is given to you, you must be happy with it and it must provide a service. Perhaps, to amplify the name’s effect, a different spelling is required. Work closely with the person finding the name for you. Give them suggestions and guide them carefully to fulfill the desired result. If choosing a name yourself, whether a magickal or practical name, stay away from trendy sounding names. Choose a name with meaning, history and power. I read an article recently in our local Pagan paper about magickal names. The author said that every time they went to a Pagan festival and a page went out to a Willow or Merlin, many people came running. That made me smile broadly. Choose a name that describes where you want to go, what you want to express and, most importantly, spell it so it will give you the complete benefit needed.

I find that lined paper works well for Numerology. Legibly write down the name that you want to decipher, leaving at least 2” of open space on the top and bottom. Then, look to the equivalency chart and write the corresponding number beneath all of the consonants and above all of the vowels, keeping plenty of space between each separate word. Now, add all of the vowels together of each separate word of the name and write the composite number above the vowel numbers. If the composite number is not a Master Number, add it together creating a primary number. Repeat the same process for the consonants.

Then add the vowels and consonants together of each word of the name to create a primary number for each word (underlined numbers below). Before a final primary number is found, add the composite numbers together to see if any Master Numbers are present.
Then add all of the composite vowel numbers together. If a Master Number is not found, add the final composite number together to find a final vowel primary number. This number is called the Soul Number. Repeat the same process with the consonants. The final consonant number is called the Mind Number.
Add the Soul and Mind Numbers together to find the Expression Number. Before coming to a final Expression Number, add the final underlined numbers of the individual words together to check for Master Numbers. When the final Soul, Expression and Mind Numbers are found, add them together to find the Karma Number.

8 Mind:
They learn by watching and analyzing behavior patterns, growth cycles and reaction to stimuli. As children they seem slow, but in reality, are so caught up in the mental worlds, that they tend to keep their realizations to themselves. They make good doctors, particularly surgeons, counselors, sculptors, power brokers, including stock exchange and long range investment planners.

9 Mind:
These people learn in many ways, particularly through example. Be ever mindful of your actions around small children with this configuration. If you are not aware of your actions, you will soon find your behavior patterns mimicked by them. They make excellent secondary and college level educators, professional organizers, editors and how-to writers.



11 Mind:
They learn through accessing their subconscious minds through dream programming, subliminal suggestion, meditation and visualization techniques. When in a classroom setting, they tend to gravitate to large class sizes like lecture series. They love to learn through the use of media: computers, television, motion pictures and audio stimuli. The Karma Number is found when the Soul, Expression and Mind Numbers are added together and one primary or Master Number is discovered. This number indicates the basic challenges and stumbling blocks that are presented during one’s life. It also represents the lessons that need to be learned through struggle and strife.


1 Karma:
This individual is challenged by the inability to act on one’s original ideas. The needs and desires of others continually block them. This can lead to low self-esteem and the trap of underachievement.

2 Karma:
Challenged by the inability to attract sympathy and co-operation from people, this individual tends to shy away from social settings and buries one’s true feelings. Loss is felt from the lack of love from others and an impeded sex life can result from imposed isolation.

3 Karma:
Try as they may, these people have a difficult time being heard and understood by others. Sometimes other people act as if they are wearing earplugs and simply tune them out. These individuals often have learning disabilities or speech impediments that make learning difficult.

4 Karma:
Nature alludes this person. There is a strong desire to be accepted by a loving family and have a secure home life, but there are constant blocks to this end, causing a wounded heart and the inability to express feelings. Sometimes this individual will suffer from physical disabilities that will separate them from the Natural World. Often, one’s life work becomes a burden not a delight. If 13 is the composite number, feelings of spiritual abandonment may figure prominently.

5 Karma:
The spotlight never shines directly on this person. Others receive acknowledgement for work done by this individual. Psychological dramas find these people, even without encouragement. Pent-up because of frustration, these people must learn to quiet their energies through regular meditation so vital energy will not scatter.

6 Karma:
Sometimes the victim of sexual abuse as a child, particularly if 15 is the composite number, these people must learn to rise above and out of victim consciousness. Achieving goals can be difficult, particularly if they are of an emotional nature. Strongly attracted to literature and music, but much of what attracts them is lost because they have a hard time concentrating on one thing at a time. If they are not vigilant, they are often caught in an enforced care-taking position. They must fight an overly possessive nature.

7 Karma:

Financial success always seems to be out of the grasp of these people. When money does flow, it is often short-lived, due to mismanagement and overspending. Many times, these people have been the victim of overbearing, domineering and sometimes cruel parents. A personal relationship with the Divine can divert negative energy and feed them small successes to keep their emotional life healthy.

9 Karma:
Problems with authority figures plague these individuals. Always fighting an uphill battle to win approval from parents, mentors and employers, the strain of being consistently misunderstood often pushes these people over the edge. Living a personal life that refuses organization sometimes results in total chaos on all levels.

11 Karma:
This individual craves Divine intervention to improve one’s lot in life and when it does not come, blames the Divine for all of his problems. This consciousness sometimes produces atheistic belief structures. This person feels abandoned by his genetic group and spends much of his life trying to fit into groups and families that are disinterested in him. Relaxation meditation helps this person to focus on positives and be less compulsive.

22 Karma:
These people are extremists; both anarchists and reactionaries are found here. Present social order makes no sense to them and they feel compelled to act on their beliefs, rather than dismissing them as irrational. Either extremely phobic or completely daredevilish, balance eludes them in every respect.

33 Karma:
Often suffering from addictive behavior: drugs, alcohol, sex, food or the “caretaker/fixer complex”; these people have an almost impossible job meeting their own needs. Tough love rarely works with these people, nor does psychological therapy. When finally finding a system, person or religion that helps them out of their addiction, they often substitute the “fix” for the addiction, creating an endless cycle.

44 Karma:
These individuals are confronted, almost from birth, with great emotional loss. Death, dying, disease and abuse are all around them. They must guard against loss of emotional control, chronic depression and suicidal tendencies. Surround these people with cheerful middle toned colors and happy music to help pull them out of a life filled with awful memories.

55 Karma:
It would not be unusual to discover that this person was abandoned as an infant and forced to make a life for themselves without the comfort of others. Or the extreme could be true, smothered by overindulgent and paranoid parents. Either way, this person does not have a true sense of individuality and a pioneering spirit. Often frustrated with the lack of personal control, he finds himself emotionally paralyzed. A strong but relaxed support network as an adult could help break down feelings of discomfort and emotional isolation.

Ego Numbers

Count how many letters that are in the entire name to find the Ego Number. This number speaks to the condition of the individual’s self-esteem and ability or inability to socialize. To give the reader more information, it is desirable to keep this number a composite, so a broader picture is created. Like birth composite numbers, initially read the first number as a complete entity, then the second, then read the meaning of the composite and finally the primary.

To find the Missing and Dominant Numbers make two columns, one with the primary numbers (1 through 9) to the left side, one blank. To the other side of your paper, write out the whole name and write the proper numerical equivalents. Then, beginning with 1, add up the total amount of each number in the name and write it in the blank column. In other words, the example below has 3 ONES, 1 TWO, 2 THREES, and so on through 9. Missing Numbers give clues to absent puzzle pieces that create deficiencies in ways of thinking and feeling. Dominant Numbers indicate the driving forces that stimulate growth and the overabundance of certain urges that cause imbalance in the mind and body.

Family Numbers
