The lovely court suit that I have borrowed for my venture into playing a courtier has a beautiful matching pillbox hat. So far I have worn it for three weekends and it always feels like it is going to fall off. Does anyone have any tips on hairstyles that would help or ways to secure it, short of stapling it on my head? Any help would be most appreciated!

Re: Tips for wearing a Pillbox hat
Thu, September 14, 2006 - 3:05 PMI think that I may need to make my bun higher on my head. Maybe that would help. I actually had two hat pins, crossed in an x (thanks to Laura Kephart), but the hat and bun slid down by the end of the day. -

Re: Tips for wearing a Pillbox hat
Thu, November 30, 2006 - 6:32 PMI sew a comb to the front edge of the pillbox so that it anchors into the hair. That along with the hat pins seems to work pretty well seeing as I don't have real hair...
