Re: new ren faires
Tue, November 27, 2007 - 12:03 PMNothing major that I've heard of.
Quick search gives:
Hermosa Beach, CA
www.hermosabeachrotary.ws/page6.html
I also saw something about a new faire in Oklahoma (where the grass is green).
Again, nothing huge - I don't track outside the local SoCal area though, so I may have missed something. For the most part it looks like local startups and charities doing fledgling runs. -

Re: new ren faires
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 7:11 PMHonestly, in California I don't anticipate seeing many new faires. There are faires closing and faires struggling to keep their doors open. One case I recently heard of encountered a 400% increase in their location fee. The economy is kicking lots of little faires out of business. -

The Dragon Slayers Festival is under a new name, new location, and benefiting a new organization this year....It's now the Scottish Renaissance Festival of Santa Cruz. and we're moving to the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. Proceeds will benefit the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County. It's on June 14th and it looks like no conflict with Campbell Games this year since they're on the 21st.
