Over 20 years ago I inherited a lot of extrordinary embroideries of my Mother in Law. She was a heavy smoker and most of the linen the embroiderry is on has been stained beyond salvage. However I always planned on using the pieces in some way.Recently I have read about the Elizabethans love of using slips to embellish things like bed curtain hangings ect. I was thinking of doing this for a forepart. Has anyone else done it? Any tips? I'll post a picture of the embroidered pieces I'm thinking of using on my album in my profile.
