Renegade Drive-In Movie Theatre presents
the premiere of (Your Short Film here)
at Lightning in a Bottle 2008!
After the main stages go dark on Saturday & Sunday, RDiMT will be hosting a late night projection area in a dark corner of the festival grounds, showcasing original work from filmmakers within the LIB community.
We are putting a call out for engaging, funny, surreal, thought-provoking, avant-garde, ridiculous, sublime material but most importantly works that are generated by *you*. It can be something that you run out right now and produce specifically for LIB, or something brilliant you’ve already shot & edited and has been sitting around collecting dust in your closet waiting for the right audience.
Submissions should range anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes in length. They can be of any topic or format that inspires you, but we do want to keep things short & sweet – given all the goings-on in the forest, we need to accomodate the attention spans of an (ahem) over-stimulated audience. However all entries that capture the imagination will be considered for screening, so don’t let it stop you from sending us that 11 minute piece on spontaneously combusting penguins of the Canadian tundra… one never knows what the nuts at RDiMT are into these days…
Okay, so now that’s out there… Perhaps you’ve got the camera and the enthusiasm, but looking for a little inspiration? Then check back here on Monday morning:
where we’ll be posting 5 experimental/unconventional/avant-garde categories to throw a little fun into the mix and guide you in your creative process.
The most original entries in each category will be exhibited between general submissions on both nights. Stay tuned to either site for time & locations.
When you’re ready to send your masterpiece in, please contact us at renegade.muse@gmail.com for instructions on how to deliver your uncompressed .avi or quicktime. (We will have an ftp site as an option for delivery) Entries must arrive no later than May 10th. We’ll need some time to view all the entries and handpick our selection so the sooner we get them all in, the better!
Thank you for your time and good luck!
