Just joined a new Guild for 2008 - and my old character wouldn't have worked with 'em... so I've been working on a new character.
The Guild (Queen's Court) prefers all their non-household charactes to be ACTUAL PEOPLE from history... I'm going to be playing a member of the gentry, James Croft -- he's kinda cool. His father was imprisoned with Queen Elizabeth back when she was a young woman... he was later knighted by King James and has ties to both the Earl of Darby and Baron Mountjoy.
Next step ... putting together an outfit and getting more familiar with my character's history & family.

Re: My New Character....
Tue, January 22, 2008 - 9:55 PMOh, Rick Shawe will probably still show up at some point 'cuz ... let's face it - that's just too good a character name for an asian fella to have at the Faire to just give up.
In the meantime - get to know Master Croft ... he may channel some distant relatives ... Sid and Marty Kroft for inspiration and ideas for fun. Although I'm sure lots of the guys out there at Faire - and a few of the gals - would love it if I could conjure up a different relative... Laura Croft. -
