We have little business card sized cards, laminated, for the snob who wants to be papered. Here's how this works:
You send me a picture that is 300 x 300 pixels to my gmail account: matt.bowes@gmail.com
Note: If you don't know how to resize your picture, I can and will do it. DOn't worry if the picture is too big. I'll crop it. Worry if it's too small, because if it's too small, there's not much I can do to make it look better in print. There just isn't. If you're okay with that, fine. Just so you know.
When you send me that picture, also send me the name you want on your card. Sometimes people don'[t want their real name. That's fine. Just tell me so I can put it right.
Also give me your name and address so I can mail it to you. Otherwise I keep it for years. (Ms. Orr, I'm lookin' at you.)
You don't need to send money; several people dropped about 60$ cash into the pot and this buys lots of snob cards. Some people brought me cider. I love cider lots. If you have cider and you see me and you feel warm feelings about your snob card, perhaps you might give me your cider. If you do not, it's okay. But if you do, I will also feel warm feelings and be happy and blissful.
Those who have sent me pictures already: Some of you sent me really tiny pictures. If you right click on the picture and click on "properties" that'll show you the pixels. We're looking for, at a minimum, 150 x 150, though I much prefer 300 x 300. Some of your pictures might look awfully pixelated if you send me much smaller.
Henceforth, I shall eliminate the leading zeros from the membership numbers, which are lower case roman numbers.
I plan on getting Justin a snob card as well, just so everyone knows.

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 11:10 AMMy 15 year old read tribe and he had a WTF moment as to why he doesnt have a snob card too.
This is the same child who expressed great consternation at the idea that I used (OMG) cotton instead of linen on his arming bolster.
*sigh*
It was laying around. It was free and I need to use it up. NOBODY is going to see the flippin thing. I honestly didn't think I was going to talk him into wearing it. He likes dancing around in his undewear while wearing it. I guess it's funny or something. I don't know. I think he needs therapy.
He INSISTED this years costume be made of wool and linen ONLY and had a fit when I used a cotton as the lining for the venetians (get over it) and brought out the lovely shirt I made for him last year between his thumb and forefinger like it was poo and said "I like this style can we do one in linen cuz I can't wear this one. It's cotton"
This I get for pointing out tribe and telling him to read the discussions on snobs tribe and learn something about history.
Ya'll created a monster under my roof ........... and I'm so proud! *sniff* *wipe away a tear*
Matt, I'll be emailing you a picture of mikey and we'll see you at faire in OMG two weeks!!!! WTF WTF! -

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 11:17 AMI'm so proud of that boy (except for the dancing around in his shorts and an arming bolster....he needs help there). Not even I give a rat's ass about the content of my fibers, so long as they look good. -

Wed, February 27, 2008 - 12:13 PMHuh? You use rat's ass hair fibers in your costume? I suspected that grey colored material was strange.

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 11:10 AMDo we have any serious photographers in the Tribe? None of my Faire pics are less than 5 or 6 years old. (Besides I should have one for the back cover, too, after all!) -

Wed, February 27, 2008 - 12:23 PMWhile he's not a Snob, you may want to contact Gar Travis, who is a spectacular photographer.

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 12:32 PMI won't claim to be of the quality of Gar, but I am an amateur photographer. (Had my first "paid" gig at Dickens this past year.) -

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 1:18 PMI suppose I should point out that I'm "down South" in the greater Los Angeles area (S.F. Valley, specifically). So I'm afraid, my dear, that your talents may just be geographically inconvenient for both of us. <sigh> If you're going to be at Southern, though, we might be able to make a date of some kind. I'm not working the Faire, but I know some people who know some people, and if some other people get me comps or something, well, I might even be there. After all these years I can't quite bring myself to pay for a ticket. We'll have to talk. -

Re: Snob Cards -- a quick how to
Wed, February 27, 2008 - 3:47 PMI am not sure that I am ready to try dealing with trekking my toddler to Southern this year ... maybe in a few when she has learned what a "road trip" is. If you can get Gar, he would be better anyway. PM me if he does not work out as I know a few others around the Faire circuit.
