To Tell The Truth, Zsu Zsu...

You all remember that old skool game show, called To Tell The Truth, where 3 contestants each purported to be so-and-so, where a panel of celebrities asked questions of them regarding them being so-and-so, and then guessing as to which was the real so-and-so, to where the question eventually was asked, "Will the real so-and-so please stand up!?"

Well a few of us have decided to do a skit on a variation of this show for Yuri's Night, with Mademoiselle Zsu Zsu in mind, Saturday Night Live / MADD TV / Jerry Springer style....

To wit, 5-6 contestants will each purport to be the real Zsu Zsu in a game show setting (i.e. lined up in a row in front of the audience).

Thusfar, A delle, Sabra, Jenn, Shelly Pinemom, and myself, have committed to each exploring. expressing, openly living their own unique vision, their enamoration, their LUV, perhaps their inner Zsu Zsu, ...and / or, as especially with me, their eventually seriously warped identification (yipee!) with Mademoiselle for this skit.

Another contestant may be in order too, WILL IT BE YOU!?

Jelly Fish is going to be the interviewee, as Monsieur Pierre.

Kahele is going to help with stage direction, etc....

Some involvement with the audience is also in order, whether through additional Zsu Zsu purporters in the crowd, some prepared questions from the crowd, crowd choice through applause as to who they think the real Zsu Zsu is,...?

Which venue, time, duration (10-20 minutes), some other ideas, the mix of script, improv, and mayhem, have been touced upon, but pretty much all of this is up in the air for creativity as this is going to be a group of individuals project, each exploring their abysmally obssessive relationship with Mademoiselle...IN SPACE.

SO, a meeting is in order to get free and creative and scriptive as we may for this show for our Mlle.

What about meeting this Tuesday night (March 25), say around 6 pm at the Red Rock? Or Thursday?

If you wish to also commit to the foolishly explorative fun of this particular femme fatale genre, PLEASE also sound in here, ESPECIALLY as to if this meeting time will work for you, so we can commit down this silliness together in unison, "You love Zsu Zsu, I love Zsu Zsu, we love Zsu Zsu, To tell the truth, Where are you Zsu Zsu, WHY DON'T YOU SEE ME ZSU ZSU..."

But we have to meet soon, so this week has got to be the week to get started together.

And Jelly Fish has a surprise in the works for the finale of this show, ....to be revealed at the meeting !

Hiya - so after the onslaught that was Yuris, we just paid for the Art space today, it's back to gravity and all of the awesomeness that is paying for medical bills. We're not doing a super-fantastic Skoosh-style event (which if you can attend, please do), however, we are holding another mind-melting extra-sauce-please dj extravaganza on Saturday May 3rd, with any proceeds going towards the latest LPCH @ Stanford medical bills incurred last month.

- the new crew seems somewhat apprehensive to begin construction on the warming booster rocket previously scheduled to launch at Yuri's night 2008. In other words....
this Thursday Feb. 28 the weldshop/yard will be outfitted with floodlighting and propane heat in order to better facilitate accomplishment.
The interior of the academy will be outfitted with couches and video of our favorite space hero James Tiberius Kirk. to better facilitate those who find themselves between shifts of SPACE.

Dish & Rocket fuel

need someone to polish the dish tommorrow so it is more snuggleriffic.
need one or two people to run saw, cut and stack firewood into plastic containers
could use some help with the wrench turning also.
Jelly, can we transport the dish to the studio prior to next Saturday?
do we still want to set up the 4-5 monitors to play space movies (ie; startrek, 2001 oddysey, spaceballs etc..)
and if so can that be put in the studio earlier than Sat. also?
I am not sure what the outside fire duty from 1a.m. involves but I will more than likely be out there any way, so just clue me in and call me the man.

I've been meaning to bring this up with you for a few weeks now, but forget,...anyways, the topic of food (i.e. some kind of fingerfood potluck) at Yuri's Night got lost when the venue changed, and I am wondering if we could do it on some small scale? Say in the southwest corner of the Art Space (next to the bar), have a table with finger foods -- ixne any way of it turning into a mess for the whole place? If I set up the table, get some folks to bring finger foods, and take care of the cleanup, would you all mind if I et all make it happen? Or does someone have something else in mind, cause there aint no food place around there, and food is REEEEEEAL GOOD in the wee hours on such nights....?

Chris Munz will be coordinating our live video link to other Yuri's Night events around the world if it is indeed possible. I just got off a live conference call with Yuri's Night Producers in Turkey, Tanzania, Bulgaria, India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Canada and others and there is certainly some interest and the guy named Paul in Bulgaria is already doing a live link with their local TV station and they are doing both day and night events so we may have at least one match for time zones. It was suggested that we use the online streaming available from www.ustream.com so you might want to check that out.

Wouldn't you love to dance with somebody on a large screen in Bulgaria?

Venue Changed... IN SPACE!

I am so sorry for not posting something earlier, we had to really scramble to save the event from the bureaucratic jaws of the City of Reno. You see, as a licensed Realtor, I already have an FBI background check on file-- but that and my spotless police record were not enough for them. They wanted a new FBI check on me, that takes months, in order to issue a permit to serve liquor at the Openground Skate Park. We have d6, Nathan, and Jess to thank for doing the footwork to discover all this, and the former of the three for pulling some strings and locking up a great new venue for Yuri's Night 2008... in fact, we now have two venues!

The Bliss nightclub on 4th Street is opening up for our Reno-Compression party not only the nightclub, but the new renovated basement as well! Also the Artspace On 4th Street is just across the street which will ALSO be a Yuri's Night Venue. Think of the possibilities: fire performing in the street lot, deep space chill, basement snuggle pods, mutant vehicle space shuttle service between venues?... we'll have lots to plan and talk about at the next planning meeting in early March. d6: Can you ask Bliss if they will host our next planning meeting?

Thanks for understanding, all. Now that we've hit some turbulence in the planning stage, it is a good compression test for our space vessel as we sail together onward... IN SPACE!

In a recent development, Kernul Killbuck is stepping down as one of the co-producers of the event, but will retain his other responsibilities including that of Placement Despot. Greetings Shiva Vista project Friends and Family!
We have been in a holding pattern that last week or so as the rumors are true! The Green Room has been shut down a month early by the city of Reno so we needed to find a new venue. All planes have been in holding pattern as a bit of uncertainly has surrounded the event. In the last few hours the final details are in place and everything has been worked out, just in time! Good thing this didn’t happen right before 2/2 or we may not have been able to pull it off. As it stands we still have two weeks to get the word out and get this place packed! We are asking for HELP. Please please please repost the new flyer and update press release when I get them out ether tonight or tomorrow morning. We have time, but its cutting pretty close…
AS of now, the new venue for the event is going to be at The Underground.
Remi and Slone have graciously booted the other event that was going to be in the space that night in favor of us! Thank you Remi and Slone. Much appreciated!!!
Please everyone get flyers at the melting pot as well as print then off your computer, new tickets will be printed and distributed. Gorilla marketing tactics will be needed at this stage. All help is tremendously appreciated!

OT - Controlled Burn to Offer 6 Week Skillz Training Class

We are now offering more structured curriculum that will allow you to become a great spinner! Our first session begins Wednesday, January 9th at 6pm to 7pm. We will be instructing you on poi, staff and devil stix. The class goes from Wednesday, January 9th and repeats itself every Wednesday from 6-7pm until February 13th. The 6 week training course is $50. If you drop in during our classes, the charge is $10 per session. We will be holding these classes at North Valleys High School. If interested, we strongly encourage you to pre-register on our website at www.controlledburnreno.com. Registration for Devil Stix is required. You must be 18 or over, or have your parent or guardian attend the first class to sign a waiver and the safety class to learn to be your personal safety.

If we took a couple of those LED poi balls, cracked them open and replaced them with Infra Red LED's, he could put you behind an interactive screen with an IR camera on you, then track the balls with his computer and project a new image from the front of the screen and over your silhouette complete with trails, fire, colors, the possibilities are staggering.

2. Interactive dance screen with new participant podium control.

Chris and his team have vastly improved the trails of color and user interface and now you are invited to grab hold of the controls at the podium and morph the experience as people dance to create the images and and spectacle.

3. Video Link with other Yuri's Night parties around the world.

Imagine dancing up to a life size lovely and really hitting it off with them. No words need be spoken, as you both realize you want to take each other home-- too bad they're in Poland right now! The international spirit of the event may just explode as we realize that our packed dance floor is actually bouncing off a satellite and showing up live around the world!

Reno will be better... IN SPACE! This year, it's "Theme Mutiny" as we countdown to the playa with a sensational sequel to the campiest party ever! Here we plot and scheme for the stratosphere. So don't lurk about-- key up your sub-ether radio and let us all of us here know how you would like to participate... IN SPACE!

The venue will be Stoney's at 71 Wells Ave, Reno. After such a great turn out at the Reno Decompose event last October, we agreed that an even larger venue was necessary. It's a good thing April 12th falls on a Saturday next year as we will be shaking weightless booties on the same night as so many other Yuri's Night events around the world!
