The idea is to initially focus on putting together an event very similiar to other other local burner parties(dance, entertainment, art,etc)and with a number of year-round local goals(beyond folks just having a great time)in mind, designed specifically to strengthen support networks by and for the local burningman community for any future times of serious need -- sort of like Burners Without Borders.
The ideas thusfar presenting themselves would be to further strengthen the relationships and networking among local Reno burners, particulary in order to serve as a support network of those willing to help out with the emergencies fellow burners may be experiencing, to raising money for a non-profit fund for future emergencies and to serve as a clearinghouse for whatever kinds of local support/networking that may be needed.
When folks are interested in the idea and come to meetings, they may also have in mind some ideas about how they possibly could or can be of help in the future, whether it be with their homes, food, transportation, or other assets. Friendships, and other forms of support and resources may then overtime, perhaps grow, further organize and be noted for future contingencies. Through the meetings, a clear, ready, and dependable support network of reliable friends will become further established for future real needs.
