G'day peeps,
Sorry for being a bit off-topic, but I figure you radio-types might know. I've been tasked with filling a 32' dome with sound at Burning Man, and none of my audiophile friends have been able to answer questions like how much output power I need, and whether a car amp would make sense (it strikes me as more able to cope with the elements than a home amp). I have a couple more questions, too. Would any of you be willing to answer them, or point me to a source for general playa audio advice?
Thanks,
MikZ/RamblinMan.

Re: Playa audio advice?
Wed, June 20, 2007 - 6:40 PMHow loud ya want it?
How large is big? How long is far?
How much is enough?
How much distortion can you tolerate?
Is it OK if your dome sounds like a car stereo?
How many amps/batteries you got? More is almost always better (till you run out of money)
Oh, by the way..... How much money ya got?
These things tend to decide themselves. In my experience, people who ask this (type of) question usually end up doing whatever the hell they were going to do anyway. This is reasonable to some degree, since, after all, only YOU know what you really want.
Clean your gear carefully, inside and out, and you should be fine.
Don't camp next to me unless you only play good music.
