my saturn is transiting venus in vergo - where venus is the middle planet of a triple conjunction - saturn in libra, venus and jupiter in vergo...
that means my saturn return technically starts on Oct 29 though because it has been transiting jupiter and now venus i think ive been getting a good dose of it...

I had a kind of similar experience eYen. My Saturn return was in late Leo. Shortly before it crossed my Venus in Leo. Within a day or two of this I left my home country to start a new life in my wife's home country of the US, where I have been living since. I landed my first "serious" job within a few days of my actual Saturn return. As a Scorpio rising, Saturn falls into my tenth house so the career them is very appropriate.

Prior to this Saturn had crossed my Sun, which was when my first and only child was born, then natal Jupiter which was not accompanied by a specific event, but I was reading Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything" which I thought was highly appropriate in giving me a seriously swelled head! Soon after this it crossed my natal Mercury... not too sure about this but I was bookkeeper for a non-profit organization trying to get a multi-denominational school off the ground. Come to think of it this works with Mercury on several levels, detail, early learning and diversity, not to mention a general lack of confidence in what I was doing!

Maybe this is a little more than what you are looking for, but I hope this gives you an idea what to expect!

I just love your sense of humour O'Ryan. And sorry eYen but my saturn transits are never as spectacular as those of O'Ryan. They slow me down for a while, deprive me of some physical energy and colour my mood into more serious stuff.
But now that I think about it.... I bought my houses when saturn was conjunct my venus - and conjunct my IC as well. Transiting jupiter was around at the time as well, but he's swifter so he already had been conjunct my IC and venus. I remember a strong feeling of divine interference in the matter, because buying a house costs a lot of money and every time when I suddenly needed a huge amount, it was there... I was unemployed while I signed the contract for the house, which entitled me for some social loan at a very low interest rate, and that saved me lots of money for the future. And only 2 weeks later I got a very well paid job which enabled me to pay the taxes and the paperwork stuff.
My venus is conjunct mercury, and on the day transiting saturn was conjunct mercury, I got a speed ticket (while rushing off to a job interview - got the job though) which costed me a fortune. Ever since then I very carefully follow trafic rules whenever transiting saturn is near my mercury.

I had transiting Uranus, Saturn, Neptune and Venus conjunct Natal Saturn in Capricorn in the 3rd house during my Saturn return. I've had people ask me about this before. I actually didn't experience anything bad. This was one of the best periods of my life and the happiest. I had just made a major jump in career the year before and had gone back to a private liberal arts college to study writing (3rd house). My marriage was at it's absolute best time. I was volunteering at a place for runaway/throwaway teenage girls and doing well with that.

That time was a time of enormous peace and contentment for me. I wasn't aware of Saturn return then. I remember feeling like all the stars must be aligned for me because things were so good at that. It had actually been very good for me since a little less than nine years before that and would remain that way for two more years. That's when my life disintegrated into major chaos. My transiting Pluto and Sun was opposition my Pluto Moon and square my Chiron and Natal Pluto/Venus. Transiting Saturn went into my 4th house (the only natal thing there is my Chiron) and every conceivable thing about my sense of home and belonging was systematically destroyed and my soul hurt wasn't just activated, it was stomped on over the next six years. At the same time transiting Chiron is passing over Natal Uranus in my 10th house. Uranus had created havoc in my husband's job and that's what led to the entire chain of events that tore my world (and his) asunder.

For the two of us it wasn't our Saturn returns that were horrible, it was the years following that. I think for us, it had more to do with Saturn getting close to and eventually conjuncting our Chiron because he had the same thing happen with that when his world fell apart. After it passed his Chiron it crossed his Sun and finished him off for quite awhile. He went through every single major life stressor but one within two years and for someone who can't handle change and is OCD that is not a good thing. And once Saturn started in on him, it got me as well. I've always thought the moral of the story is that our happiness was built on an illusion (Neptune). Remember that Neptune was right there by my Saturn return when I was at the happiest stage of my life. What made us happiest was setting up our downfall. The great deceiver. We were content, but we were also complacent and Saturn won't tolerate that, nor will Pluto. If you don't figure it out on your own, they'll take care of it for you with no mercy whatsoever. That is exactly what happened to the two of us. Pluto came through for me and Saturn for him and between the two they burned all of those illusions to the ground, stomped all over our Chirons (which are both in Aquarius) and left us with nothing to start all over.

Sometimes I think that Saturn return is about setting up the circumstances where you'll be exposed for what isn't right even if it doesn't have the "return" effect at exactly the time of the return. At least that was the case for us. Even if this seems to be an easy time for you (in fact the best time), you might want to take a good, hard look at what's going on because if it's not sound, it will eventually fall down around your head.
