is your mars conjunct sun or saturn? And what sign is your natal mars in?

I would say Saturn would block tendancies of a Scorpio ascendant. Mars would Leave a trail of blood over the ascendants gothic tendancies. Do you suffer from alot of unidentified guilt?

We coudl just discuss these aspects generally, but depending on what houses the mars and sun and saturn are in would be enormously useful, as well as checking out elemental balances.

If your ascendant is square to your saturn and the sun is opposite saturn, then surely saturn is ALSO making a square to your Ascendant?
If Mars and the sun are both making a square to your ascendant, then saturn must be either conjunct or opposition your mars.
If these opposition planets are both square your ascendant then you have a 'T Square' aspect with the Ascendant as the focus of the TSquare. Personally I don't tend to use the angles in relation to TSquares, but others do.

Why do you say that Mars 'blocks' the 'gothic' tendancies of Scorpio Rising. Gothic tendancies are just ONE way in which a scorpio rising expresses itself. I am a scorp rising and am far being a goth or have many gothic tendancies.
Also mars does not 'block' things, nor does a square. Saturn may be said to have a limiting effect and I therefore would understand your suggesting that this planet might be blocking it, but not mars. The square to mars makes a more dynamic or compulsive nature. The square adds tension that is often released in 'bursts' rather than in the more smooth trine. The Mars adds a bit more fire to the way you come across and it might well be said that you come across as someone not entirely in charge of your emotions or anger. People may perceive you as somone who is liable to 'blow'. From this aspect alone, we might say that it is easy to 'push your buttons'. You have less ability to easily smooth and calm your heightened emotions, instead if someone provokes you, you are more likely to respond immediately. You may enjoy, depending on your circumstance and other chart factors, the reaction that these outbursts grant you. You may feel you've gotten the upper hand when others back off from these outbursts.

As I say, we can't really say for sure unless we saw more of your chart, but these are things that are common with the mars - asc squre.
But Saturn is also involved which changes things. Is Saturn OPPOSITION your Mars or is it CONJUNCTION your Mars as the two would alter this considerably. Saturn - Mars aspects are much more of a pressure cooker. At best it could work like an engine, the saturn adding pace and stamina to your mars, ensuring that it doesn't bang and then fizzle out - so pursuits like rock climbing or rugby etc might be beneficial or attractive, as would any pursuit which involves martial discipline, such as martial arts or the army.
