    That's the North Texas burn this weekend. It doesn't look very pleasant. They're very honest about the presence of critters like chiggers, which should keep the less hardy souls away.
    
    Also, if you don't have a ticket now, you can't get one (legitimately).

        I don't mind a little arthropodic life around me, but I've experienced chiggers, and they're no damn fun. That said, the chiggers are among the most benign wildlife the sites warns about. The likelihood of running across a brown recluse or black widow is small, yes, but there.
        
        Frankly, if you have to wear long pants and hiking boots to be comfortable, it's not a burn event that I'd relish attending. October is still summer in Texas, after all.

          well I just got back and it was so much fun. And so far i think I am chigger free. It was warm during the day and cool at night . I have photos I will be posting later.

            Glad to hear that some brave soul made the trip. What about the leeches they promised? Anybody brave enough to go swimming?

              no the lake was officaly closed we did walk up ther once to look at the leeches and put some in a jar for specticals. I dont think anyone swam in it it was ovr run whith them.
