Making it through crazy lines? Managing to avoid it? Spill!
Also, any advice for going to Paris for the first time? Not for business, really, but it will be a quick weekend trip in late January. Favorite things there? Tips about taking taxis, etc?
Hugs and happy holidays!

Re: How's everyone's holiday travel going?
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 11:24 AMSo far so good - I just flew from San Diego to DC on Friday and it seems like it's still early for the real airport craziness... lets hope that holds out another couple days until I'm safe in Boston!
I've never been to Paris myself, but the tip I've gotten from friends is don't try to drive there!
Have fun!

Re: How's everyone's holiday travel going?
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 3:57 PMAgreed - I've been traveling a LOT over the last few weeks and it's been a breeze. But this week and next - look out!
Paris - wow, where to start!? We mostly wandered the left bank aimlessly and stopped in cafes that looked intriguing, checked out shops that caught our eye, ate in bistros that were cute and cozy. Crazily enough did NOT do the Lourve, but did the Eifell Tower - where at the top beers are the cheapest we found in town! We mostly got around on foot and on the Metro, didn't really need to use Taxis. Didn't really participate in much of the night life, either. Hmmm - what did we do!? Oh yes, we were on our honeymoon. :-) -

Re: How's everyone's holiday travel going?
Mon, December 17, 2007 - 4:44 PMParis is fantastic. I was there for winter holiday in the late 90's. I loved the Louvre, but actually enjoyed Musee d'Orsay better. And you can actually do it in a day, whereas the Louvre - while monumentally impressive - would take a week to get through.

Also, just in case you have the idea in your head to see Jim Morrison's grave... don't waste your time. I don't know what I was thinking.
