116 Days until the Rock Opera Burns. Soon, very soon, the music will be complete and I'll be sending it out to everyone. Right now four songs are ready and they will be posted this week. Fire Performers / Stilt Walkers/ Dancers / Techs / Lighting / Sound / Projections / AV / and Mutant Vehicles are being contacted and plugged in.

The Rock Opera! Friday Night 9pm Performance & BURN!
A Live Exotic Electronica Event with Spectacular Pyrotechnics! Over 150 Fire Performers, Belly Dancers, Cirque Performers, Stilt Walkers, Drummers, Dancers and more. Beginning with a Mutant Vehicle Procession from Center Camp at Sunset 8:30pm, this Fabulous Concert Performance concludes with breathtaking Pyrotechnics & Pyramid Burn! This Step Pyramid 24 foot tall x 24 foot base is used daily for Sunset and Sunrise incantations. Drum sticks attached, the collective rhythm awakens this living musical drum! Each area tuned to emit frequencies that evoke the Beauty Spirit. All are welcome to gather and enjoy the Pyramidal energy. You may write your wishes and dreams on the Effigy. When the Pyramid burns your dreams and wishes are released to the universe and come true for you. Each level provides a wonderful place to spend time looking out over the playa and enjoying one another.

Rock Opera

The Rock Opera is beginning to take shape!

The Mayan Pyramid Temple effigy that we are burning is being designed by CAD tomorrow. The art installation application is complete.
Committees are being created and crews are coming together.
Mutant Vehicles, Dancers, Drummers, Fire Performers, Stilt Walkers, Cirque Performers are joining.

Rangers, Safeties, Builders and logistics are being compiled. I need a beer!

The Libretto is posted on the web site www.ColoradoBurningMan.com
The songs are being written and recorded. Sound systems are being contacted.
A Fund Raiser is being planned for late July maybe the 20th.

Please feel free to ask questions or give input.
It's going to be very intense this year and we're expecting over 10,000 in attendance.

Rock Opera 2007

The Rock Opera seeks Fire Performers/Dancers that are
Physically Disabled or Children under the age of sixteen:
*A segment of this year’s Rock Opera is dedicated to you.*

The 2007 Rock Opera is seeking two sections of the Burning Man community
that have inspired all of us throughout the years.
The Rock Opera will take place on Friday Night August 31st from 9pm to 10pm
and is located at 2:30 & Esplanade. If you are a performer in
either of these groups, I would love to hear from you.

Reno Time

Ronnie, Donna mentioned tonight at Controlled Burn practice that you will be in Reno town in a couple of weeks. That's exciting. We can't wait to meet you. Braden is stoic, but I can tell he's intrigued. I just wish we knew more burner kids for you. Anyway, your place or ours. Both are good. Just let us know what we can do to make your Reno visit easiest.

We have a fund-raiser coming up for the Shiva Vista non-stage performance area, and Braden is sad not to be able to do more than distribute fliers, so he'll be thrilled to have something that more directly serves the yearn to burn.

If you're not totally booked up, please know that you are welcome in our home, and that we hope to be able to spend some time with you. Do you have digs? Do you have dinners? Just say what you need.

For now, though, must, must, get Braden to sleep. WAY past bedtime when it's not on the playa...
