I am working again, about halfway through training. I'll be customer service for Verizon Wireless, a company that actually impresses me quite a bit in regards to its customer service policies etc. And they don't outsource to other countries! Woo!
So in my copious spare time (ha ha) I am working on my Spiral Path website and helping with the Beltane Papers, a magazine for women's spirituality. (Nw site found here www.freewebs.com/starmother/index.htm)
The pay isn't great during training, but it's activity-based and also quality-based. So if I have good quality, I have to get in fewer calls than somebody who has lower quality to make the same amount. There's a base pay to make sure I don't go below minimum wage and quite a few reps make 16, 17, 18 dollars an hour or more. And I'm carpooling too. That's good because I work 30 miles from home now. Anyway it's good to have some security again. The benefits are good, and the most part, and I can freely relocate. There's also a good possibility of advancement. Our General Manager started out as a rep just a few years ago... I have already been through the wringer of customer service tech support, so I figure I can handle this just fine.

Re: New Website (With Forums!)
Sat, July 19, 2008 - 8:50 PMThank you so much, Owl Goddess.
I have visited the Freeweb site and started my own site, The Radical Buffet, to call for radical change in US politics after my disappointing experience with the Radical Politics Tribe, few of whom seemed to want to do anything beyond posturing in a manner that suggested they were actually interested in changing anything. You can find my new website at:
www.freewebs.com/jaxwizz/index.htm
There is very little there as yet, but I plan to grow the project little by little hopefully with input and ideas from those who visit the site. Please drop by and wish me luck with it. And invite the NH by as well. In fact, please invite anyone you know who might have something to contribute.
The adventure begins.

Yes, I found your site of great interest and entrancingly beautiful design. I must ask, though, since there seem to be a number of different ladies associated with the site, are you "starmother" yourself or is that one of the others? If I were to send you a friend request would you accept there as well? I am impressed with the relative ease of putting up a website in their domain. I thought about writing the site directly in HTML code (I have done that before elsewhere), but decided to use one of the templates after all. It was a bit difficult at first but got easier very quickly as I got familiar with the controls. I am at the "Radical Buffet", a brand-new site of my own and I feel that things are going so smoothly that I must surely be on the right track. Wish me luck and thank you for pointing freewebs out to me.

Re: New Website (With Forums!)
Sun, July 20, 2008 - 5:11 PMI do all the design and most of the writing for the site. NH contributes a lot and we have a third friend who is a (so far) silent partner. Thanks so much for the compliments! And yes, I'd accept.
