The ladies of Urban Gypsy have expanded their folkloric dance study to continue to understand and appreciate the diverse cultures of Egypt. All this tribally folkloric goodness has been put together into a dance that will knock you off your feet! Part Ghawazee, with bits of Bedouin, some Saiidi and (of course) lots of good ol' tribal belly dance. In this three hour class, the choreography will be broken down first by technique with attention given to the origination and history of some of the more folkloric movements. They provide shelters, meal, clothing, education, counseling, medical and dental care and other services that really benefit the community. Last year Tribal Alchemy was able to give a van load of donations to SafeHaven along with some money. Thank you to all that donated! This year, their services have been taxed more than ever so lets show them how much we appreciate what they do for others!....

~Stage flooring: 3/4" plywood raised on 1x4 slats. Covered by 1/8" tempered hardboard. (As soon as we get the seating configuration we will let you know of the stage area. Don't worry you will not have a little stage in the middle of the room as shown in the picture <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" />............................................................................)
~Dressing rooms are availabe but please come prepared as much as possible because space is limited.
~No fire or animals are allowed in the show. ....

ok so the photos are down and dirty quick stylie but i just finished making these and wanted to give y'all the first crack at them before they head off to any vending events.

these are all unique- i've broken in to the stash of fabric ends i've kept cause i lov them so much so it's the best of the best here.

lengths vary, some are quite long and others are a bit shorter in the front, most are sparklie and all are beautiful!!!

the listings go from small to large and please let me know if you have any questions at all.

I bought two from the workshop in Seattle on a splurge, and I shouldn't have spent the $ since I'm on a tight budget. SO I have:

Floral teals/black, longer version, poly/spandex knit which is a L/XL (fits my 48" hips and could stretch a little more); asking $32 including shipping to US

Burgandy streaky stretch velvet w/ gold flecks, shorter version, in L (fits my 48" hips, but just and rides up a little); asking $35 including shipping to US.

and would love to order online since Rose isn't taking custom orders now, but the website doesn't seem to go above large, and has most of them running medium and smaller. Does anyone know where I can get an XL Rosehips skirt or have one they are willing to part with? I would prefer grey, silver, purples, black or teal but am open to any other colours that I can find.

so "i" will miss out on being there to shop for RoseHips...

BUT i don't give up easily. Someone is coming over to
your booth to look at all your XLs for me and if okay with you ..

Need rosehip for pinstripped pants - any suggestions

I need some advice. I have black with white pinstripped pants and would like a rosehip skirt to go with. I saw a horizontal pinstripped skirt once, but am afraid of what the horizontal lines will do to my hips. Any other suggestions other than vertical pinstripes?

I was wondering if any of you knew it the beautiful dancers, Liquid Hips are wearing rosehips skirts? If so, are they wearing more than one? The have beautiful hip articulations that are amazingly accented by the movements of their costume!

I had an upcoming performance in which their are a lot of great hip movements, I'd love to have them accented as well!

need costume advice!

So, I am hopeless... hopelessly addicted to Melos yet having a hard time putting together my first ATS/Gothic style dance costume. I definitely want one of these Rosehips, but which one to chose?!

The costume pieces I'm working with so far are: Purple spiral Melophoenix pants, black tie top, lots of cuff silver/gold cuff bracelets, a big gold-toned kuchi necklace w/red and blue glass inlays. I also have tons of random costuming bits like corsets and wigs.

What I need: a yarn belt , a rosehips scarf, upper arm dangly bits?, headgear (anyone have suggestions for where to get head-stuff?)

I'm trying to think how to coordinate all this stuff in my head, but I'm more of a hands-on gal. Should I go with some bright swirly colors to complement the purple spirals? More purple? Maybe black and sparkly or something lacey to stay more in the raks spooki genre?

Any advice on which Rosehips to get would be supremely appreciated!

album question...

Hey there!
...i tried to look back in previous posts for some info about this, but i couldnt find anything. sorry if this is common knowledge! >_<
i just joined the tribe recently and have a question about the availibility of the skirts posted in the tribe's album.
Some of the older pictures specifically say they are sold out in the picture title, while others do not. i also noticed some pictures are updated with which sizes are left
Is it okay to assume there are still skirts left if it does NOT say anything about being sold out? or should i just contact Rose about availability?

pricing and sizing info

(approximate) sizing
sm up to size 8, med 8-12, lg 14-18, xl 20+
each fabric is so very different but that's a basic guide...
skirts range from $25 - $30 depending on fabric and length(i don't usualy post longer skirts here but i do have them)
basic fabrics are $25 and specialty, stretch velvet/burnouts, glitter fabric, and double layer skirts are $30

when ordering please include your pant/hip size and an email addy for a paypal invoice. i ship priority mail so your skirts should arrive about 2 days after your payment clears.

Cow print stretch fabric

Hi Rose,

Have you ever come across cow print lycra or spandex or stretch fabric? I'm wanting to make some cow print cholis, but I' having trouble finding such fabric. Any guidance you have would be greatly appreciated.

Need Opinions, which rosehips should i get???

I'd probably get either a M or L, i dunno the first L i got fit perfectly and i just got a red in large and it's a little big. So i don't know what size i is gonna get. My hips are 36.5inches.

I guess you need to know my size and what I would like.
My waist size is a 33 1/2.
I likie the chinese flowery skirt.
