Hi everyone!
I know that you all heard about Saturday night, and if not, you saw the ENTIRE IRWINDALE police and fire force show up to get me. I am not dead. My head did not fall off, get put in a cooler, and replaced on my neck. I did not break my collar bone. I did not re-break my back. I was not in labor. But all wonderful and very interesting stories.
In all seriousness, I thank you ALL for your concern and assistance. I am alive and well. My shoulder merely popped out of its proper alignment. I didn't drop the child. I wasn't doing any sort of acrobatics, just trying to walk to my car and having carried that little man (yes, the very same one who had run away from his father that afternoon)...for FAR too long that day. I finally told him I needed to put him down. Upon reaching the ground, my shoulder left its happy home, and then the fun came.
First the on-site assistance, thank you all very much. I think even a brain surgeon stopped to help ;)
Then the fire brigade...thank, you all very much too.
Then the Irwindale paramedics...you were my favorite. Although you hurt me greatly putting me on the gurney, you also started the IV that made it possible for me to stop screaming.
Got to the Emergency Room...lots of X-rays and questions later, and several hours...I might add (not that I could tell, or cared...I was...very well medicated), they knocked me over the head (okay, not really, just another push of something AMAZING into my IV....and THAT knocked me out for a good 10 minutes), the replaced my shoulder into its happy socket, and sent me on my way back.
Thank you SO MUCH, Sam, for coming with me to the hospital. What a comfort. Thank you to the (at LEAST) four families that walked by telling me that they had my kids and were taking them home for me.
Thanks to the people who stood around me so that not EVERY rubber neck could get a glimpse of the SCREAMING lady on the ground. Everyone knew it was a wife though...there were words of "There are CHEVRONS down!!! CHEVRONS ARE DOWN!"
Thank you to Paul, who barely wavered at all while holding me up so I didn't have to move.
Yea, it sucked. It hurt, and I'm in a sling. But I'm good. Alive. And I still have my head!!! I love the faire community, though, and all the much more exciting things that happened to me in the stories.
Thanks all! I'm good. :) See you next weekend!

Re: So, yea...I'm not actually dead!!
Sun, May 11, 2008 - 8:44 PMGlad to hear that all is well. We're sure it gained Steven a reprieve from the massive Attack of the Pissed Off Jewish Mother in regards to Number 2 Son wandering off.
As always, follow Dr.'s orders and be good to yourself. We hope you had a good Mother's Day in spite of it all.
Lots o' Love,
Liz and Russ

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 1:11 PMWe're all very glad that you're not actually dead! And glad that you are recovering. It's too easy to injure yourself taking care of rowdy little kids and working too hard. Remember to take care of yourself, too.

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 8:01 PMSo glad you're ok!
I realized yesterday that the Bell still owes you something yummy. I'll make sure you get something yummy this weekend. I made some Bailey's cake for this past weekend that didn't last more than 20 minutes. If you like Bailey's, I've got a slice with your name on it.

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 9:59 PMHi Judi,
I am very glad to hear that you are doing well. I wish that I could have done more to ease your pain while we were waiting for the paramedics to arrive. Take care, rest, and I look forward to seeing you at faire this weekend.
