So. I have been pondering this since I had Jose (Ol skool master mod that he is) take down my thread, how angry I was. How dumb I thought it was. I just remembered John Gabriel's (www.penny-arcade.com) "Greater Internet Dickwad Theory" that states:
Normal Human + Anonymity + Audience = Total Dickwad.
Before anyone gets their bloomers in a twist, *I* am not calling *you* a dickwad. I am here to remind you that in this particular forum, there is **no** anonymity. None. One of us knows someone who knows another. We are in the same guild as the other. Whatever the connection, we are still a familial unit of strange people who get together every hot spring and wear the hottest clothes we can and we still figure out how to get along with each other, at least for the most part.
So how about we do that here too? Let's all put our big girl panties on, treat each other with some respect, not always assume the worst, and get on with it.

Thu, September 25, 2008 - 9:17 AMBriefly, someone gave someone a compliment, got insulted in return, someone else told them off, that person got told off, etc, etc, etc. At least that's how it looked to me. Someone else may have a different viewpoint. -

Re: rantywipes
Sun, September 28, 2008 - 11:11 AMPerhaps the best idea would be for anyone that does not appreciate a comment being made publically to private message the person .... then wait until the anger subsides to send it. That way it is not in public to get the giant tug o war started and can be considered before the send button is hit
Just my two cents since all posts do filter to the public eye. -

Re: rantywipes
Sun, September 28, 2008 - 3:15 PMIt's very much like writing the angry email with nothing in the To: section. then you expend all your vitriol and you can't send it with any regrets. Less apologies that way too.
Look, four cents! At this rate we can share a beer in the spring! -

Wed, October 1, 2008 - 4:56 PMOh, and even better yet, allowing the person to whom the comment was made to decide for him or herself whether or not it was appropriate.
That's six cents.
